Very nicely done movie. It almost, almost reaches the levels of the LOTR movies. Like the OP, I read LOTR before HP. I held HP in contempt for a long while because of the inexplicable fame it received, but upon reading it, I understand why its so popular. Rowling deserves all the praise she has got for this series.

Now my favourite series after LOTR.

*******Deathly Hallows Part 2 spoilers*******

The Snape and Harry's Resurrection scene were especially powerful. The director nailed these two important moments from the books.

Probably my second favorite of the series, next to "The Prisoner of Azkaban"...

The changes they made from the book work. It's too often they change something for the worse just to shorten it or add something totally unnecessary. The stuff they added managed to add a little excitement to parts that weren't so exciting, and the drama and tension were pretty good. Some of the scenes and filmography were actually quite inspired... not what I'd expected from a Harry Potter production.

8.5 to 9/10.

Amongst "Potter" films - 10/10

Saw it last night. Saw hollows pt 1 earlier in the day and have never seen any potter movie before this. 7.1 was just confusing and 7.2 brought it all together and made sense of most things.

I will disagree with NOOB616 and his spoiler. They have to keep dropping hints like that in the movie for people like me, the non fanboys.

I saw it last weekend and had not seen one since "P.O. Azkaban"
Must say I enjoyed it very much, as with eSZee I am confused must watch 7.1. and the rest!
