guidance and leadership
Neither of these things fall under his job description. To expect one man to provide guidance and leadership is to appoint him King. Is that what you want? The fact that the president is EVER on television speaking to the people makes me want to throw up in my mouth.

He would only be "one man" if all the rest of the elected officials decided to do nothing.

Presidents have a long history of providing guidance and leadership. It is certainly part of their function.

Think about Kennedy and the Moon Mission, or Roosevelt and the "fear itself" speech.

Why having a president speaking to the people would make you want to throw up is sad. For you.
