Have we seen the real GT5 yet???

There seems to be a lot of talk around about different demo versions of GT5. Does anyone else think that PD is only showing part of the game at one time and we havn't actually seen anything from the full game e.g

1. GT5 prologue - just a demo to show what ps3 was capable of
2. GT TT - demo which added better physics to GT5 prologue engine
3. The Ring - demo appeared to be an upscaled version of the GT4 track (track polycount appeared to be the same in comparrison images, textures looked upscaled, trees were the same 'card board cut outs')
4. Tokyo - Demo appears to show off better reflections than the TT demo and has things like brake smoke and glow that appears on the car roof when the sunlight hit it. Also, track detail and trees appear to look much better than the TT demo and The Ring demo. Damage was shown in the demo for the first time, but it was confirmed that it was not the final version
5. Still waiting to see - dynamic weather, night time driving, realtime damage, livary editor, track editor (i doubt this one) - possibly the next stage of the time trial may relase another improvement?

I don't believe we will see anything in comparrison to the final version until at most a month before the release.

I think the tokyo demo is pretty much IT.

There will be nothing new on the next stage of the GT academy (and only 20 people from each country will get to see that anyway)

The physics will remain the same
Tyresmoke will not change for the better
Reverse lights will not be added
Skidmarks will not be added
Trees will not be modelled in any more detail than they currently are
Damage may improve ever so slightly (bumpers may finally fall off,but only on the premium models[liveried race/rally cars])

I highly doubt dynamic weather and day/night cycles will feature. And a pic of night racing has already been shown in the US PSM mag last month

In short. Yes we have!!

No we haven't. Seen damage, weather, day/night? ;)
Really? I don't remember seeing a picture. Can you tell me if it's been posted on any of the threads? If so, which one?
Yes there was a picture, but it was SSR11 (5?), which has been a night race ever since.
I'll believe day/ night and weather, when I actually see it. I just hope it's not only wet races again. :ouch:

I think the Tokyo demo was close to the end result, but just imagine it with better damage, dynamic sky and in the dark!

There was that video of a kid crashing into a lamborghini and a big scratch appearing on its side. I thought this was great, but kaz reported that he was not happy with that damage modeling just yet (for both cars that will get full damage and cars that will only get surface damage). There are also a few videos and images of cars with degradation - the E3 trailer rally section shows this really well, but there was another vid i saw somewhere with a road car that looked dusty and had lost some of the reflection. Is it me or do the car reflections look a lot better in the tokyo demo than in The Ring demo and the TT demo?

I think we've seen sfa of Gran Turismo 5. Sneeky buggers are keeping everything a secret. But we're in for a huge surprise when this game comes out. and I think thats the reason we've seen bugger all. So far. ;)

Am I the only one who thinks the physics will be different in the full game compared to the TT demo? I don't think the TT demo physics were final

I think Bekimche is right. If you compare the TT physics with some of The Ring demo videos, the grass physics appear to be different. In the TT demo, the grass physics were that same as the gravel, but in The Ring videos, drivers that go onto the grass appear to be able to drive off it a lot quicker, even from a stopped position.

I think in the final game we will see completely remodeled tracks. They are not showing it now just like they are not showing new tracks from GT5 which are from the same list. It's all Prologue just yet. Imagine what a shame will be if GT5 ships with texture-beafed up high res GT4 tracks. After 5 years of development that would be a REAL shame. It would look like first gen Counter Strike with added textures on everything and with that low polygon count it looked ugly gross.

The slippery grass and gravel in the TT demo does not necessarily mean different physics, probably more a case of the grass and gravel being deliberately given those properties because of the actual purpose of the TT demo.

👍 what he said...that saved me a lot of typing

Hmm don't know, the physics were probably "old" to give you a taste, I doubt they're the final physics. Looking at videos and especially the FT-86 trailer where its drifting madly...it does look alot different. I hope it's the case. I want to drift that gorgeous looking toyota like that too!

I have a hard time believeing that GT5 will be much differnet from what we have already seen. Why would PD put out demos showing off GT5 and the Nurburgring and not be putting their best foot forward? I doubt they would purposely dumb-down the graphics, physics, sounds, etc. it doesn't make sense. Some cars and tracks will naturally look better than others and that's why Tokyo looks better than the Nurburgring, Indy, etc. I am optimistic, but also realistic. In any event, I am very happy with what I have seen and I know I will be blown away by the final product.

Apart from physics and a lacklustre damage system, I haven't seen anything in GT5 that wasn't in GT5P.

I'm hoping the final game is far superior to what has been seen so far, I want to see better damage, weather, day/night transitions, head tracking, a comprehensive online set-up etc.

^We should have a petition to take damage out completely. I'm sure if we get 10 people, Kaz would be more than happy to get rid of it.

No offense intended here, but why do people slag off GT5, I cannot wait for it !!! All the cars , All the tracks, the graphics, the new physics, rallying, nascar, night racing, damage (we dont know much about damage as far as i know so why are people moaning?), etc etc etc, it is going to be awesome, GT5.P came out a LONG time ago. Dont worry the final game will be amazing !!

And to be honest, i dont want to see all the game in a huge demo, i would rather wait a couple of months n be blown away by the full game !

What we have not seen yet through gameplay vids, but will be in GT5:
- final damage
- interior damage
- night racing
- weather
- a lot of cars/tracks
- hybrid cars i think
- tuning
- skidmarks

What we have not seen yet through gameplay vids, and could be in GT5:
- dynamic weather
- drag racing
- rally tracks
- Day/Night changes in 24h races

Thats what I think right now.
Edit: - rollover crashes should be in GT5 too :>

Glad to see someone shares my sentiment.
