No offense intended here, but why do people slag off GT5, I cannot wait for it !!! All the cars , All the tracks, the graphics, the new physics, rallying, nascar, night racing, damage (we dont know much about damage as far as i know so why are people moaning?), etc etc etc, it is going to be awesome, GT5.P came out a LONG time ago. Dont worry the final game will be amazing !!

And to be honest, i dont want to see all the game in a huge demo, i would rather wait a couple of months n be blown away by the full game !

We've been waiting for a couple of months for the past two years.:)

GT5 is not going to be released in a couple of months.:grumpy: If it was we would have known the release date by now.💡 There are two time windows that will be realistic with the recent delay announcement "mid 2010:ouch: or the end of 2010:crazy:" So that is anything from 5 to 8 months.:ill:

What we have not seen yet through gameplay vids, but will be in GT5:
- final damage
- interior damage
- a lot of cars/tracks
- hybrid and electric cars
- tuning
- rally tracks
- night racing

What we have not seen yet through gameplay vids, and could be in GT5:
- dynamic weather
- drag racing
- weather
- Day/Night changes in 24h races
- skidmarks

Thats what I think right now.
Edit: - rollover crashes should be in GT5 too :>
Fixed ;)

Weather for GT5 is fix, isn't it? Maybe I'm just confusing something, or is it still possible that weather effects mean "racing on wet tracks" and nothing else?

And skidmarks were half confirmed in an interview, with KY saying something like: "Skidmarks should be of no concern", and with even NFS having skidmarks it really should be no problem to put it in GT5 :P

Edit: Do you think there will be complete Rally tracks? I know that there is something like a rally track shown in the E3 Trailer, but maybe that scene is just done for the trailer, to show that there will be WRC cars in GT5, I don't know :/

As "will be" I mean 100% confirmed ;) and weather is not.. :/
I'm 99% sure that there won't be skidmarks.
As for the rally tracks there will be some for sure.

👍

Hopefully when it is released all the people who have been unreasonably negative will be too busy playing it to keep posting bolx here or when they do find time it’ll be something more intelligent

...best not to guess a release window though ;)

That would be underwhelming...

Besides a French article mentioned that they saw "course sous la pluie" when they toured the studios. Meaning they've seen racing under raining conditions.

That wording is pretty clear cut to me.

Sony's plans are already well underway for the first half of 2010, it seems inevitable GT5 has been pushed back to Christmas, along with the motion controller.

I think he means you shouldn't be concerned with skidmarks because most all games don't do it realistically anyway. When was the last time you skidded and layed 1/8"+ of rubber? Drifting doesn't leave that much rubber, unless you are also doing a very heavy burnout.
Prime example from forza 3: http://vimeo.com/7234131
This rwd nsx is laying down some thick rubber from its front tires while going very slow and barely sliding.
I do think they should add burnout marks, but skidmarks(unless from heavy braking or heavily burning out while drifiting) aren't even realistic.

IMO, you can take the skidmark comment either way depending on the tone you put on the quote.

"Skidmarks should be of no concern." - I.E. Don't worry, it's already taken care of...

"Skidmarks should be of no concern." - I.E. It's not important.

Indeed, guess we'll have to wait and see...IMO :D

I just don't believe that PD will include skidmarks. I want them since GT1 but i just think its again a no no. Thats a GT, and GT has no skidmarks (aka The Real driving simulator).

That's nice. Please drop it.

Exactly! :) We have been waiting for a long time now... But it will be released, and of course it WILL be great!

Every thread on hear seems to go the same way. I started by asking an interesting question, got one or two interesting answers, someone mentions skidmarks, someone else slags them off and the some people complan about people slagging off GT5. does no-one read the topic title anymore. Cudos to Zod for posting up his list of things we have not seen yet. I forgot that we still havn't seen anything regarding head tracking, which may be a game changer.

So, lets contine from here with the starting question - Have we seen the real GT5 yet???

My initial comments still stand.

If such posts annoy you so much, stay away from such threads instead of telling people what to do like you own the place.

I think the simple answer is obvious.

NO

The only time will see the real GT5 is once the game has gone gold, and even then that does not guarantee fixes and changes will not happen prior to pressing and shipment.

Wesh has put the nail in the coffin here, and to add to his correct statement,we should trust PD that why the game is being held back is for the better,KY is a perfectionist and while that may be time consuming, the proof will be in the pudding. We simply dont know what will be in the final version and i would rather wait and not speculate,as the guy is in love with real motorsport as much as any of us,so the important elements that make this simulator better than anything before or after will be in for sure.
Ps the physics in TT Academy to me was spot on and cannot be improved.

The real GT5? definately not.

Remember back in 2000 they released Gran Turismo 2000 which was a GT2 in HD generally, when GT3 came out everyone was blown away by how it turned out. GT5 Prologue is just a early demo and I'm sure the final game will be different in a lot of aspects. We will see completely new tracks and of course those can't be just upscaled because they did not exist before and then all the tracks from GT4 will be remodeled too so they look on par with the new ones. They also can remodel cool tracks from GT2 like Grindelwald and Red Rock Valley, Rome circuits and so on.

While I generally agree, I don't "trust" PD anymore.

That's first time I hear about that. Where was it released?
