Have we seen the real GT5 yet???

Wesh has put the nail in the coffin here, and to add to his correct statement,we should trust PD that why the game is being held back is for the better,KY is a perfectionist and while that may be time consuming, the proof will be in the pudding. We simply dont know what will be in the final version and i would rather wait and not speculate,as the guy is in love with real motorsport as much as any of us,so the important elements that make this simulator better than anything before or after will be in for sure.
Ps the physics in TT Academy to me was spot on and cannot be improved.

The real GT5? definately not.
A perfectionist when it comes to car modelling certainly, other areas such as sound, A.I and the general race day atmosphere have always been lacking.

I think yes, we seen the real GT5 in the TT, physics and graphics, im not spect a lot more, and as i says the first time i think about GT5, its gona be like GT4 with damage and online(no skidmarks), i bet anyone.

Sorry my english.

PS. im not whining, i want GT5 like GT4 with thats stunning graphics and damage. If GT5 doesnt exists, i can play GT4 all my life.

I don't think so since (if I remember correctly) in one of the interviews KY said that with the GT5 they doubled the polygons count per car comparing to GT5P.

The TT version looks roughly the same as GT5P in terms of polygons count, so I assume that the TT is not with the "doubled" version and thus this is not the final product look.

WOW!! that guy want more polys?!! its insane!!! but good:tup:

Prologue was already getting to the stage where you could hardly see the vertexes. I think you'd have to look at the two, very carefully, side by side to work out if it was a 250k or 500k model

I'm not so sure. I think the more likely answer is they've improved the reflection rendering. I'm not saying more polys wouldn't help a bit but if they'd beefed up the code I think it'd make a much bigger difference.

Yeah, there's quite a few things that could affect the quality of the environment mapping, the quality of the rendering to the cubemaps and things like the lighting as that would often be simplified as would a lot of the detail, the resolution of them, how often they're updated, there'd probably be some form of post processing too. Then when applying them there's how the reflection vectors are calculated and interpolated as that's all approximations with no perfect solution and what kind of filtering is used. Most of that stuff can have more effect on the quality than an increase in mesh detail.

Something else I've thought of wrt to the increased number of polys is that with damage and rollover there will be parts of the car that could be seen that weren't seen before so some of the cars now need the engine bay, the underside and other interior parts modelled which could account for the increase in detail without really affecting the number of polys on the exteriors which were seen before.

I think that Tokyo demo showed as final graphic. We just did not see final damage build and day/night and rain effect...

That's what i thought, but taking that into account do you think that we have seen the final graphics for Nurburgring and the TT Indy track?
