Have you TRIED to lose SR yet?

It used to be stricter, I remember lots of internet crying.

I am fine with track cutting being less of an SR hit and just a penalty, but the contact it out of control. I already don't trust other drivers, but a penalty needs to be there.

Maybe more persistent penalties is the answer. Damage surely isn't. I don't think people even realize damage it on in the FIA races.

I remember when Rossi took out Marquez in Sepang, he had to start at the back of the field for the next race. Maybe that should be the penalty for a 10 second contact penalty, assuming you can even get one.

Tried to lose SR, entered the Copen oval race...had a couple of guys on 1 bar of connection (Asia-Oceanic region).

End up with a clean race...

Being in B-S puts me at the back of the grid in races, I'm not going for trophies, but it's more fun to be battling for a podium than 15th

This is exactly what I have been going on about.

This is exactly what I have been going on about.

There is a lot about this game that either is almost outright broken or not correctly implemented or as efficient and correct a system as it could or should be.

Plenty of bugs and programming issues and inconsistencies.

A penalty system that will penalize the wrong party as often or more than penalize the correct party.

A matchmaking system that does a pitiful job of matchmaking again more often than it does a good job.

A ranking system that is to lenient in what is allowed for the higher ranks and too easy to game to go both up and down especially the SR rankings.

I really like the concept of this version of the game but the more time I spend with the game the more I realize just how much there are many multiple problems that need to be fixed or dealt with.

I race online less now than I have since launch as in my opinion the amount of or percentage of dirty racers online in the sport races is higher now than at any time since the games launch.

Also there are more racers that have learned to game the penalty system and use contact to advance while the one being the actual victim is the one penalized.

In other words after really getting into the nuts and bolts that actually make up the game play this game looks no where near as a polished release that it appeared to be at first. It needs major work in a lot of areas.

Several weeks ago, I hnded out some justice to a wallrider in the one make tokyo expressway outer loop with the skylines. I rammed him HARD. My SR went from B to D in that race. I've since recovered it to an S.

Any of this ring a bell? https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/im-bored-already.373580/page-2#post-12159612

Don't get me wrong I do have clean races, but it's just the ranking system, hit S and you're in races that have guys running 2-3 secs a lap faster. I could go down the FF route for gr4 races but that's too easy.

Why drop your SR? Don't you gotta drop your DR for easier race wins and pole's?

Yes and no. Dropping the Dr will eventually make you cannon fodder for even faster drivers.

SR is super easy to have so anyone competent will have SR S.

If you want a race where the talent level is a bit more average, you want SR below S like A or B.

Bathurst is a good place to drop SR when matchmaking keeps putting you in the back. Slow down for an accident get rammed from behind, then become a pinball. Hit an invisible barrier on pit entry, bunch of ghosted cars stuck there, SR down after pit. It's probably going to clean up again once the kids have gone to bed, can be max SRS in one race again. I never stays low long.

Ofcourse if you want to get rid of SR, just go straight at the chicane bit on the top of the hill. That provides a 10 sec penalty and lot of down points.

I just went from SR A to a SR C Due to one angry race with a kamikaze Japanese racer. Worst thing I ever did. SR C in the pacific region means #@%* chaos!

I had a driver ram me several times in one race and went from SR:S to SR:B in one race according to the before and after results of the race. I think the key was that he would bump me off the course? possibly those penalties are weighed harder.

In the 4C Gr. 3 Road Car race at Kyoto, that race was carnage, I got bounced around and my SR dropped to A. I wanted my rating back so I did the daily at brands hatch a few times, what easy wins in the lower SR groups, very surprising.

@Voodoovaj What has been the verdict for dropping SR and even DR, as the best way ? Don't want to wreck people.
As soon as I got up to DR D SR S, I was up against A-S drivers. As soon as I got DR C and SR S, I was up against A-S and S-S.
I want to lose something, and get back to competitive races.

Join a Sport Mode race, quit right away during the warm-up. Rinse and repeat.

Thank you, I tried quitting after the race had actually started (lap 1), but that did no real reduction at all. Any idea how many times it takes to drop one level ? Just want to know what to expect, 20 times for one drop would take awhile.

Your rating won't drop until that race finishes, so wait 10-15 minutes to see changes.

You can see my SR history here: http://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?profile=2372936

I went from 100 to 5 in the space of a few days, as I was working towards the Pole Position and Win trophies. Any race I didn't get Pole in I dropped from immediately. Any race I did get Pole in, I raced and tried to win (you need to finish a race for the Pole Position to be added to your stats).

Once I got my Trophies I went back to racing "normally" and my DR is higher than it's ever been. SR is slowly gaining too but I've had a few rough days at Bathurst/ovals ;)

There is no good way to drop SR. Don't try.

Draft bumping on Bluemoon will do it. Cutting chicanes will give you heavy penalties as well.
I don't agree with bump draft giving you bad SR but I can see why it does. Hard for a machine to know the nuance of that technique
