He calls his "Bob" Pestilence... figures!

And @Kent, I agree with Niels, a certain amount of weight is good on the Nurb, to ensure high-speed stability. Just got done doing a fully modified comparison between a Viper and an SL65 on the ring, and the big Merc does itself proud.

As for Heavyweights, hands down, the M5 "feels" the most natural. Not as much outright grip or pace as the SLR, but it's got the right balance of grip and poise.

The Jaguar S-Type R is another cool heavyweight.

And who can discount the Dodge Ram? AWD and more inertia than the Rock of Gibraltar? Slow mo-fo and clumsy handler, even fully modified, but a heap of giggles.

speaking of a heap of giggles, I did the funniest thing with the Ram and a Honda Odyssey (go with me on this one;))

me and my buddy were messing around on Autumn Ring Mini and He was going backwards in his Odyssey and Me forwards in the Ram. We collided at ony 50mph and the Odyssey got at least 4 FEET OF AIR!!! I wouldv'e taken a pic but it was in split-screen :( That was the highlight of my day in GT4...

Yay The Benz E55 AMG is very fast and looks cool, but AMG says that tune their cars on the Nur. This car understeers little bit and is not as willing to enter turns as well as the M5. But this car kills a lot of cars in terms of look :dopey:

Ive got a heavyweight!! the Daihatsu Midget!! :)

Well, looking back, you see the SLR and Aston Martin. I love the SLR, though what DE said about it is true. Its just a speedy car. Can pretty much 🤬 up every other car i race against. And the Aston is also nice, maybe better than the SLR. Its just better looking and better looking. lol

Haha... the Odyssey... I tried that thing around Monaco once... big mistake. Easy to drive but soooo slow....

It counts as a heavyweight, doesn't it?

Hmmm... those extra six points, I bet, would take nothing more than some dirty oil and an extra three passengers or so (200kg) of ballast.

Damn... A-Spec points... I've been avoiding that thread for months... must find another challenge.

That's the one thing heavy cars are great for. 👍

the Odyssey can be fast :D

202 MPH family van WOOT! Must've used Nitro, no way that sucker can hit a 1/4 mile in lust under 11 sec.

Must've used Nitro,...

That's what I meant.

EDIT: Ohh... Did you mean my mispelling of "just"? I did accidentally type lust...:dunce:

That's too fast for my liking - a super family van!

Think about it, going down the highway, kids in the back watching a DVD...

Doing 200. Sunroof open haha that would be awesome!

Sam

Now imagine either having a Christmas tree on the roof or being strapped on to the roof yourself.

Ultimate thrill ride haha.

How can 1500kg be considred a "heavy weight"? That would make the Corvette (C5) a "heavy weight" (3300 lbs), and I just can't picture that. And the F-Body is only 200 lbs heavier, so that really isn't all that heavy either.

The 300C is a great car for the weight. Worked up to 377hp, it beat the stock Carlton around Laguna. Carlton had about 381hp, and far less weight. Both cars were bone stock other than the 300C's power mods.

The SSR actually isn't a bad handler for it's weight. And it must be in the running for the heaviest in the game. lol Sucks up power like there's no tomorrow though. Had to tune it up to 500hp just to get it to go anywhere.

GotTorque,
You are sort of ignoring the fact that I originally stated my reluctance to include 1500kg cars as heavy weights. :indiff:

1600kg was my original plan and 1700kg was considered.
However, 1500kg is what I went with so that the Skylines could be included (amongst other 1500kg cars).

Also, considering how many cars are under 1000kg I would say 1500kg is relatively heavy. Likewise, there are so many cars from japan that run in the 1270kg range that I knew 1500kg was more heavy than average.

Anyway, just wanted to address that issue once again (since it has been a while since I posted this thread).

you forget the fact that Lotus Carlton/Omega is over 10 years old now. it's out-dated.

Yup. Any difference of 5 years or more means a lot in this game, as suspension technology, chassis development and tires just keep getting better and better.

Jet, errr I mean Kent ( :D ), I wasn't ignoring it. I was just saying that the Skyline isn't a heavy weight is all. :) It may be heavier than other Japanese cars, but, that just makes them all light-weights. :D

In theory, "S2" tires ought to be "S2" tires. The only different ought to be the chassis, suspension, and tire size (which is really irritating because it biases the game against older cars, since you _can_ stuff much more rubber under there than what came from the factory. Particularly 50s, 60s, and 70s cars).

In this game, chassis flex seems to induce oversteer, and stiff chassis seem to induce understeer, so, combined with much lower weight and more power, I would just have expected the Carlton to not get beaten by the likes of the 300C.

It's almost certainly my bad though for underestimating the 300C. :)

(too bad you cant roll down the tinted windows and see the deiver in a fedora and pin striped suit. :D )

DB9 is DEFINATELY a top car. It goes fantastically and when it's not moving its as good to look at as anything else in the game

Is it okay if I include trucks?

Silverado SS Concept :D

If not then.....how about SL65, around 2100KG?
veeerrry heavy, get it to around 800hp & it's still slow, another heavy one is the land rover range stormer, coming in at over 2000Kg, & then theres the dodge ram, I have reduced it's weight (I think) & it still comes in at 2390Kg

I put weight reductions on almost all my cars

lightist cars are the 2 daimlers coming in at 265Kg & 290Kg

Mhhmmm... working on an article. And let me reiterate... I love the Jaguar S-Type R. Very easy to drive. Great traction. Very adjustable. Understeery... but not too difficult to push in the other direction.

I think the Mitsu 3000GT is the best handling car over 1700 I just love that car!

You know I've never really spent much time with the 3000GT. :ouch:
I have driven it and did notice that it is a good car.
However, IMO the best handling car over 1700kg is hands down the DB9. 👍

As for the fastest car over 1700... Merc SLR all the way! :mischievous:
