Awesome, functional looking car!

With 245k on the clock, wouldn't it be easier to drop a new lump in? Perhaps give you a chance to modify without having a working engine out of the car for too long.

That's what the plan is. I have an engine out of a 99 I need to reseal and install. Fresh cylinder head with some mild porting and maybe a larger set of cams and I should be good to go.

Maybe I should paint the car champagne pink?

Those are quite funky. Not my personal taste, but they'd also work well with pink paintwork  I like the optimistic 10k tach and 170+ mph speedo too.

I recognized it right away because EVERY single internal and external light in my Camaro is either LED or SMD. You will enjoy them. They are well worth the conversion. 👍
Yeah I'm trying to switch over some of the bulbs on the car to update the appearance. These little #194 SMDs are really nice. I purchased them from Diode Dynamics online.

Changed the valve cover gaskets on the LS400 this weekend. The passenger side is a massive pain! They put a giant vacuum hose under the throttle body that connects to the valve cover that is hard to remove. Good times.

Intake cam drives the exhaust cam. Fascinating.

I was too irritated to take more pics.

Since the Lexus still leaks oil, I had to take the Miata up to NorCal this weekend for a visit to my mother's house. Did about 800 miles total, which is absolutely brutal in this car. Took Hwy 198 on the way back, which is a lovely road with plenty of corners to keep me entertained.

About 5 min after this picture was taken I proceeded to destroy the front lip on a rock that didn't quite clear. Time to buy #4 haha.

That's quite a normal toyota thing to do with the cams being run by a gear inside the head. The 4AFE does the same thing, keeps it compact as the F heads are narrow angle rather than the G heads that are wide. Easier to put both cam gears external on a G head as there is more room, harder on an F head.

Lip replaced. Taking shelter from the rain.
If there was some way for the roads to always be wet and the sky to always be clear it'd be perfect for Miatas. Mine has been great fun in the crap weather over the past few days, but it's so cold and miserable out I've had no desire to remove the hard top yet.

Haha for real. Surprisingly, I haven't lost traction in the rain once. The tires work just fine.

What tires are you running? I'm still on standard 185/60 R14s and certainly on standard power - need to drive like a lunatic to really break traction in the dry, but it's very easy indeed in the wet.

Toyo R888 (100 Treadwear). I stay away from puddles of course, but there aren't many on my commute.

Picked up a set of 4.77:1 final drive gears for the Miata. Current ratio is 4.10:1, so it should help acceleration a bit. Need to buy a differential rebuild kit, as mine is pretty worn out then get these installed.

Did a bit of cruising on Saturday.

I love my friend's car. It's got that 90s style to it.

You need some side exit exhaust :P

Your car looks hard as nails, I love it

I've considered that, but it would require a lot of hacking. I also really like my Car Make Corn's brand muffler.
Maybe when the car gets taken off the street and trailered I can do something more radical.
