I live in Australia and we get to choose between the two:

Not sure what to pick. I sure love my GT5 collectors edition box and sits there everyday whereas the digital cars were cool (stealth models), they don't "live" with you after the game in a way....

I'll be happy with the cars for sure, but its very difficult to show these off since I don't drive in 3rd person view nor was GT series known for its good online racing. Even so, online races normally has set rules and you can only choose from certain cars.

However I am not sure how "official" those helmets are? Seems to be that retailer needed a way to lure customers - I have not seen any single retailer in the world that is offering that?

Oh wow, I haven't seen that helmet offered anywhere either. Personally, I would go a buy the Anniversary edition, then try and find the helmet somewhere on ebay.
 
I preordered the eb games 15A. My Signature Edition SLS scale model is still in its box and so is the key chain and book in the hard case. The helmet is cool. You still get the regular versions of the 15A cars. Your choice.

At my local shopping centre - there is an EB, right next to a Dick Smiths, and they still have the nerve to be $20 more expensive than each game Dick Smiths sells! :crazy:

leaning towards helmet so far...I think finishing off GT5 had some great memories in the stealth additions but I'd love to grow my GT goods collection into some man cave I plan to build one day.

I think it might be easier to buy the 15A codes off ebay instead? Looks like that helmet is indeed rare...
 
I preordered the Anniversary edition at the EB Expo :guilty:, and they gave you a free bottle for preordering at the event

Personally, I don't like exclusives as it starts to become more of a gimmick than anything (of course, that varies from game to game, and GT6 isn't nearly as bad as some other games). The JB version is the standard game by the looks of it with the mini helmet as extra, and the only difference between the EB and mightyape deals are the price and the shirt (again, unless you went to the EB expo, you don't get anything).
I think they're both just as good offers (but mightyape is better with the lower price), but I'll probably just stick with what I've got atm. I'm also in the hunt for the GT6 Collector's Asia edition as well, but haven't seen or heard anything about any preorder offers being taken at the moment (fingers crossed :nervous:).

On a side note, EB got exclusivity of the better edition this time around. I remember when GT5 came out and I bought the Signature Edition from JB :).

Edit:I thought the Signature Edition was exclusive. My bad :guilty:

I think it sold out by the time I got around to it-it's still good to have it though :D.
Apparently a friend of mine who works at EB said that the GT5 Collector's Edition sold out in 3 hours :embarrassed:

Edit:I thought the Signature Edition was exclusive. My bad :guilty:

I got the signature edition from Ebgames as well but I remember walking into my local JBhifi 2 years after GT5 and guess what was on sale? The signature edition for $199.

Still leaning towards the helmet. I really wish Jbhifi could just sell the helmet and the additional cars for extra. So difficult with two different editions. I plan to go JBhifi edition and try my luck with digital unlocks via ebay. I think there will be less helmets for sale given that Jb is the only retailer selling it.

Virtual cars or physical mini helmet.

Can I ask for those who bought the EBgames edition why the digital cars attracted you over Jb's helmet?

I ordered my GT5 collector's edition from them.
It was dispatched from their site on the 23rd, when GT5 was released here on the 25th.

From memory I got it that afternoon on release day

I have enough clutter as it is and a miniature helmet telling everyone who walks in the room that I love gran turismo seems just a little pointless.

Also I must point out that usually I will not pay above $50 for a game, but GT always proves an exception. I bought the regular version of gt5 but since I ordered through EB, I got the dl codes for the stealth models (and the special edition was crazy expensive I seem to recall). Seeing as that isn't an option here, I am more than happy to pay the extra when the 15AE isn't really all that much of a markup on the regular version.

Thanks but I actually thought the stealths actually ruined the game a bit in a way. Was way too easy!

That was mainly because we got them right off the bat. PD should've locked the ability to use them until you reached a certain level. Oh well...

However, one thing that's interesting when you look at the pre-order site and the specs of each anniversary edition car, is that the cars have their respective prices - so maybe we have to purchase them? (Fingers crossed :nervous:) In that case, then the 1 million credits will be the only 'head start' that we will have...
 
Turns out the MightyApe – Anniversary edition of GT6 is 'Un-available Sorry, this product is not currently available to order.' Anywhere else I could get the Anniversary edition for less than the price at EB Games? Any others for less than $115?

You can get it from the PSN shop, but you won't get the Apex book and T-Shirt
