Help w/ my S13!

ok, i've been drifting for 2 days now and my main car is an S13 with:

hp - 265

suspension

sr - 3/3
rh - 89/89
shb - 7
shr - 7
cam - 3/1
toe - 2/-.5
stab - 6/6

brakes

balance - 1/max

lsd - 0/10
0/10
0/10

sim tires

my problem is the car spins out very easy when trying a descent drift. just curious if i have too much power or my suspension settings suck or a little bit of both. i know i've just started too but any help would be apreciated.

Too much power, and your settings suck.

Do this, get rid of whatever is on your car. Buy a 2-way LSD, full custom suspension, triple plate clutch, racing flywheel, carbon driveshaft, semi-racing tranny, sports brakes.

Set the spring rate to about 8 in the front, 5 or 6 in the rear. Lower the car. 3 or 4 camber in the front, 1 on the rear. That's about it....

for me all fr cars my style all standard no turbos no weight & lsd ...
lsd will make the cars ezly spin . & the weight red.
all my cars no matter what use these setting
the important thing gear ratios set auto to 20 or 22 so make the gearring so closed & u can ezly correctthe mistakes before spin ..try & c ....k hope thats help ;)

I use modified versions of Cudaman's FC settings on most of my cars.

Settings:
SR - 7.0 / 6.0
RH - 99 / 99
Bound - 5 / 7
Rebound - 6 / 7
Camber - 3.5 / 1.5
Toe - -0.5 / 1.5
Stabs - 3 / 3

Brakes - 12/ 18
LSD: Initial = 50, Accel = 50, Decel = 18
Gears: auto level 24

EDIT: Oh yeah, I usually keep it around 300hp with Sim tires and Stage 2 weight reduction.

i think one of my biggest problems is controlling countersteer...i feel like i just go full opposite lock and leave it there, i guess i need to work on that.

You should tune when you understand the effects of it an already have become a decent drifter. It may seen like you'll learn slower that way but you won't trust me.

well, back to practicing. I am using a few different cars to see what i can do with them so far I am using :

S13
Silvia Aero
2nd gen RX-7
3rd gen RX-7

and i was messing around with a 700hp Supra

I didn't want to get to much into detail with the guide cause I didn't want to get anyone confused. But if you got any questioned I'd glad to help.

a question i feel like adding :

During a drift, im maybe half way through and the drifting stops, probably coz i lost revs or power.

is there somethin i might have done wrong?

Im using a fc3s and itz pretty good on the drifts but i want it to go alot faster instead of just adding turbo wat do u think is a good gear ration number on auto set. I got 450 horses on it.

use the cars in my sig
197 hp 180sx - sims- with liteweight stg 3 and full drivetrain mods
208 hp fc - sims-with liteweight stg 3 and full drivetrain mods and computer
these cars drift unbelievable

for those that are stopping in the middle of the drift, i used to have this same problem what i did was
1/ start my drift a little earlier i used to wait till i reached the turn.
2/enter the turn with a higher speed than you would with a car not set up to drift.

400+hp is more than enough power to get you around any turn in the game. (i run 200+hp cars and they make it its just that you enter the drift too slow).

Remember this is from my experience maybe others may have something better to add.

For that problem, try to use your weight to get around that turn. At the first turn on Laguna Seca I just let the car slide with no throttle, just steering. I get about halfway through the turn and then I start using the gas to finish off the turn.

Returning to the first question I want to say something.
I'm not a sim drifter (I'm training now ;)), but I've seen what makes you oversteer like hell. The TOE. Important thing when speaking about understeering-oversteering.

2/-2 --> Heavy oversteer.
-2/2 --> Heavy understeer.

That's the natural tendence of the car, but a skilled driver can kill the natural tendence. You said you're new to this bussiness, so I recomed you to put the toe 0/0 (or 2/2 as I do) to start, and you must notice how goes the car and after, change the toe as you like.

I hope this helps. :)
