This is to all the fuss about the interior view for all cars in GT5. I have found this article about a group of people going to visit Polyphony's HQ. In the article PD states that it would take them at least the minimum of 3 years to get all the cars from gt4 fully modeled with cockpit views. Check it out people let me know what you think.

Well it has been 3yrs later and the release of GT5 isnt far. I feel almost certain now that all cars will have interior views by judging from this article. :dopey:

This article was written in september of 2006.. Almost 3 years have passed.. Good chance all the cars will have interiors?

Some people have concluded that the words "interior, corresponding to the damage" = the cars internal parts have been modeled. ie. the word "interior" was used to mean the parts under the bodywork. Good find, nonetheless. Yet another clue that confirms we'll get all cockpits :D

You know for the amount of hype around this game, this has got to be one of the most confusing releases I can recall... it seems even when something is said or confirmed, you can't be sure it was becuase maybe it meant something else...

Referring to the feature list that was released by PD a little while back. It said something about only 170 premiuim cars will have damage and interiors. The rest of the cars are "standard" models that some are carried over from GT4. We really dont know what it means becuase the feature list was on the japanese GT site. it was translated by a GTP member i believe and so it got a little hazy in the english translation, we are going to have to wait till we get the info in english from PD themselves.

I always saw it as those 170 "Premium" cars had modeled interiors with damage, aswell as body damage that goes along with it. While ALL of the cars will have modeled interiors. I never understood the confusion witht that.

As far as the article, its crazy how long they say things take to do. :scared:

This, I can agree with! This has been the craziest pre-release haze of info I can remember about anything. But, you know what the genius of this is?

It's free advertising! News of the GT5 release is spreading around the world, and SONY is paying very little for it. These guys are too clever. Fortunately, The Tokyo Game Show is a month off, and then we should have all kinds of news to drool over and complain about.

My opinion on the 830 / 170 is:

170 cars (most likely every racecar in the game) have full damage and modeled interiors, modeled interiors as in on a FF car if you knock the hood off you can see the "interior" of the engine bay with the engine fully modeled.

830 other cars are carried over from GT4, not as they are just upscaled GT4 car models, but just they simply made an appearance in GT4 and will be in GT5.

All 1,000 cars in GT5 will be GT5P/PS3 quality with cockpit views. Turn 10 modeled 400 cars from scratch with cockpit view to a level close to that of GT5P in 2 years. So it is very possible for PD to have modeled 1,000 GT5P quality cars in 4-5 years or however long its been in development.

+1 Exactly!

^ That is true but if the 170 are 'Race Cars' and you take the difference of the 830 between the number in GT4 you would get new cars such as the ZR1, R35 GTR, all the new Ferrari's and what ever other new additioins PD have made to the list. Its just that those 830 are 'Street' cars if you will.

I want to say it's stupid of them not to have a US counterpart handling news and release info... but then again maybe its pure genious!

^These PD guys need therapy. Somebody must've wronged them so bad that they must have psychological trauma. Why else would they mess with our minds like the way they do?

The info on PD site never said those cars were from GT4. It only said that they were from GT.

Since the PSP version is not being called by them GTPSP or GTmobile, but just GT, it makes me think they were referring to the PSP version.

However, we all know many (if not all) of the cars from GT4 will be in GTmobile.

Here is amar212's second wind,

"Second wind says there will be more than half of dozen hundreds birds flying in the beginning of the reunion on almost eight dozen of skypaths, and some of the birds will come from the past reunion just resembling the looks of the newborn birds."

Translated:

some of the birds (cars) will come from the past reunion (GT4) just resembling (having) the looks of the newborn birds (GT5P cars)."

Hasn't it already sort of been confirmed that all the cars will have interior models by the gamescom Demo?

I can remember at least one car, the Mitsubishi Evolution IV having a visible interior

This car has been "carried over" from GT4

Well, I wouldn't say that about Polyphony, but I would say that about a number of the people here. They're clearly pulling their hear out in worry over damage modelling, whether they'll be staring at low poly GT4 car models... seriously, some of these kids need to step away from the intranets for a while and go outside for some physical activity.

That's the point, they want people talking about it. If it doesn't sell out before it's on the shelves, it isn't GT:sly:

You mean to debate, confuse, assume, get wrong, get right and generally disect into general comments that still don't tell us anything?

C.

It's the perfect atmosphere for suspense.
Not a Hitchcock fan? :P

Excellent point! 👍

^It's like I'm watching National Treasure whenever I read that cryptic message.

Actually, I am listening to the National Treasure 1&2 soundtracks right now!

I found this rather interesting:

from linked article
"The game will essentially be split into two parts: Gran Turismo Premium and Gran Turismo Classic. The GT Premium portion of the game will feature 30 cars and two tracks (one of which is the mountainous course found in the TGS demo). Gran Turismo Classic, on the other hand, will feature approximately 770 cars, more than fifty tracks, and literally thousands of downloadable items".

So, 50+ tracks with more downloadable in the future? 👍

That should put our minds at ease about the final track number if they planned on 50+ more than 3 years ago. :sly:

^Good god man the movie was really dumb...and you're listening to the tracks!?

I liked the first one - but I agree the second one was silly. The soundtracks are superb though - for example, on the NT2 OST, listen to track 1 "Page 47" around 1:18 - amazing! On NT1 OST, listen to track 12 "Treasure" at around 2:45 - that portion of the song wasn't even in the movie, but it should have been; because is it far more epic sounding than the music they did use for the big reveal of the treasure room. :sly:

Trevor Rabin's best work by far.

That was for GTHD, and I'm sure the marketing strategies have changes since then.

True. 👍

But I wouldn't be surprised if they kept a certain "method to their madness" about the production schedule, quality and features for GT5 since the beginning of production on the title.

So... lemme get this straight.

There will be two versions of GT5. One has all the cars, and all the tracks, with car interiors.

But there will be a version of GT that will have way less cars, and way less tracks, but all of those cars and tracks will be absolutely mind-bloggling quality, with full damage and whatnot?

Help :boggled:

Yeah I'm confused, I thought GT5 was just GT5. We get Arcade mode and Gran Turismo mode and the features are built into them, usually GT mode such as photomode and stuff... Are people saying this wont be the case anymore? Because from what I've read, it sounds like a glorified NFS.
