Hey folks, why doesn't TATA Jaguar bring back...

Pretty sure that was replaced/succeeded by the XK? Which I believe they are phasing out of production due to lack of sales?

Don't blame TATA for this. Jaguar plans to build XJ coupe. Probably inspired by XJS.
I think that there will be more sport cars besides F Type

Ehh.... the XK was a grand touring wasn't it? With a trunk and everything, was just over a foot longer and 300lbs heavier.

The F-type is more of a straight sports car.
well there is a lack of grand touring Jaag. But i think that we'll see XF sportbrake, XJ and even facelifts of XE an XF before this happens.

Because they made them for far too long in their first 20 year plus run.

To me Jaguar are one of the finest car companies around with great looking cars in all the categories they've made for and a shrewd massive investment in electric cars. A far cry from the "old man" car company moniker they seemed to be stuck with for so long before.

Jaguar are trying very hard to shrug off their reputation for building cars for old rich men. Reviving the name XJS would undo all of that hard work.

I think that soon Jaag will be kinda like BMW, sport luxury. I wouldn't be surprised if top of the line XJ has manual and no leather seats. OK, maybe not that far, but I prefer the more agressive Jaguar than before.

XJS was unreliable and most people would just say "ah, we'll see them more on the towing trucks than on the roads."

But categories are different.

To me F Type is a sports car with supercar and gran touring influence.

A replacement for a niche model does not have to be in exactly the same category, sometimes manufacturers release a new model to adapt to what the consumers in that market want. Think of how the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was succeeded by the Mercedes-AMG GT.
