Would there also be V and C versions of other tyres?

driftmonkey1971
I have alot of those tyres, I tried installing them once and it said they were already equipped.... Now I know why :-)

On what car?

I got to get some in. I am working today so I will not be able to send any.

driftmonkey1971
Will look tomorrow.

Ok thanks.

Also guys please let me know if you have a PC and a flash drive. If you do not want to wait. I can tell you how to get the yourself (PM or PSN)

Yes.

I did some testing in my chaser, as it's the only car i've unlocked all tires on. I chose suzuka mini as my test track because of its simplicity. The chaser has a supra rz engine with aristo stage 3 turbos, racing cat, triple plate clutch, racing flywheel, and chaser trans and gearing which yields 503 hp and 48x tq. I think the lsd is 7/30/15...i think.

Tests were performed in time trial mode as i believe it may feel like online play.

Speed test:
Ch- hot lapped until i could not beat my fastest time of 1.05.8xx
Chc- saw a few quick glimpses of my ch ghost car while transitioning in 2 of 4 turns, pulled him in the final turn. 1.05.2xx
Chv- ch and chv didn't stand a chance. Saw them in my rearview...1st time out, didn't try to beat myself. 1.04.3xx

Did a really quick angle test also only using variations chc and chv. With chv upfront and chc in rear, i was able to toss the car in turn one, "catch it," feather or set throttle and accel out.

Chc in front and chv in rear was the jam on this car. Tossed the car in turn one and was able to stay on the throttle longer which is waaay more fun than feathering or setting the throttle to me.

3 Questions:

- Aren´t these diferent compounds used to emulate diferent width tractions?
- Are there drifters using "cheating" CH tires online to make some specific car more viable?
- I don´t know if i should question it here, but what else people still "moding" and applying online to have some kind of advantage?

1. In a certain way yeah. I haven't had much time to update the OP. In about a week I will update it more.

2 and 3. I wouldn't say cheating really. There are advantages and disadvantages to using these tires (depending on the car, tires, combinations of the tires). Not advantages such as in over one person or another, advantages in feeling, control, and a slight speed difference. Basically the whole point to what the testing I was doing, was to level out some of the ridiculous cars that usually dominate comps.

I use them right now for the better feeling through my wheel.

Like BMW's lol.

Interesting stuff, but I'm really just thrilled to see someone confirm that the Spirit R is as grippy as it is. So often I get people using that car that insist they're just better drifters than I. I have no delusions of "elite status," by any means, and I'm constantly making an effort to improve my technique, but it's really frustrating to be surrounded by cars with an inherent and unnatural advantage and have it be credited to skill when I know otherwise. Rant complete.

Thanks.

And yeah I mean i understand why PD may have chosen this route to make that car have more grip than its counter part. It seems to be a reoccurring thing though the C5 Corvette vs the C6 Corvette is the same situation.

I have tried these tires and I love them. They feel more realistic than standard CH. they work great on my 300zx, I can now keep up with some of the faster cars and I get a lot better feel through my wheel.

Interesting findings, Zach! I never thought that PD would do this to cars. I hope they will give the option of choosing which type of tire (C or V) you want.

Quick question, which tire does the RUF BTR get?

Not sure. Recently I have figured out that some cars may have a mix of tires. But I highly doubt that PD will give us a option to choose them.

For example. The Ford Trans Cammer. Through previously driving this car I have noticed that it has a really loose back end, but the front end has a really touchy steering feeling. When I put Type C in the front and Type V in the rear on most of the cars I have used these tires on, I get the same effect. So I'm thinking that this pretty much proves my theory.

I have no idea. I will make a basic tune on this car and go through every tire and combination and see.

Question here - So sorry if this has been asked before - didn't read through the entire thread;
I've tried to enter a restricted CH lounge and they (V) are always recognized as CS (? or medium?).
Why does this happen and how you are not sure they are not in fact CM or CS ?

If you use hidden tyres it will say that your on what ever tyres the stock car comes with. It might say CS but your defiantly not on CS, I use CH Vs some times and to be honest there only slightly different to CH and no we're near CM or CS.

You must not have been using the hidden tires in the Comfort Hard Class. If the room is restricted to Comfort Hard tires, you can only use Comfort Hard, Comfort Hard Type V, and Comfort Hard Type C.

If you highlight your name while using these tires you will see you are using them. If I am using them and you highlight my name, you will see the default tire that comes on the car. This happened after PD's half 🤬 update which basically enable cheating. Before the update if you highlighted my name it would show the hidden tires if I am using them.

Hmmmmm...I DEFINITLY used them V's. Got them through the "special software" and they were defo Comfort Hard V.
Tried on diferent cars and on diferent restricted lounges. Installed, tried to get in..."Restricted to Comfort Hard: Comfort Soft (Or Sports Hard)"...

I've asked this online, answer was; "Yes, you must take lounge restriction off (or at least not just Comf Hard), but you're really drifting with those CH V" (?)

That's why I'm asking...

Hummmm. I don't know what the problem is then. I go into drift lobbies all the time that are restricted to Comfort Hard tires and use my hidden tires. I wonder why you can't.

I usually use a mixed matched set. But it depends on the car.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before but when the hidden tires are selected and equipped to the vehicle, when entering a lobby(private or public) they are automatically deselected and what ever stck tires came with vehicle are put on(which may or may not trigger the message depending on lobby restrictions. Simply reselect them before going on to the track.

Yep. Maybe that's what he meant.

Yeah everytime you enter a room, you must go to driving options and select the tires.

This is an acceptionally well worded post, props for the grammar bro!

- Maybe, but the Spirit R Type A didn't have tires so much wider than the Series 6 to account for the increased performance by way of lateral grip. 255/40R17 versus 225/50R16.
- If it's a car they want to use that has a particular disadvantage attempting to run with cars already equipped with the tires, I don't think it's cheating. If they're cars with a particular advantage when not originally equipped with the tires now using them simply to go faster, I do.
- Everything they possibly can. If that's they're prerogative, I don't think they'll show any restraint at all when trying to gain the upper hand.

Far as taking advantage, it's not really possible on every car.

For example, the Spirit R vs the Enfini, or the C5 vs C6 Corvette, it is just a way of leveling them out.

So basically say that the C6 has got the upper hand with its tire combination, but if you put a different tire combination on the car it will be very similar to the C5.

But this may or may not be the same on different scenarios. That's the hard part about trying to test this out.

Besides the obvious car vs car scenarios, these tires will mainly offer a totally different feel to the car. Just depends on the car.

i had a go running the chV tyres a while back. honestly it pissed me off! not only did i have to reselect the tyre everytime i entered the room, people complained that i was hacking the game in restricted rooms ect. and to top it all off, if you were getting into a groove with these tyres on, and some1 starts a race (we do it for videos and photos) forget your groove. ull be pushed back to standard ch tyres and the pack will leave you for dust. you can not keep the v tyres on during online races. so ive gone back to standard tyres now, i only really drift Japanese cars with the occasional grip monster. and if i dontlike a car, i dont use it. ive given up on any comps. also due to just starting on a g27 and trying to find the right car/ tune to help give me a style. i did notice a huge difference in the tyres when i did use them, i didnt realise there was chC tyres tho.

Yeah the selection part is annoying. Selecting them didn't really bother me that much though. Normal routine for me to go into the driving options to make sure I have ABS off.

I don't normally do races anyway, yeah they feel different but I can run without the tires and adapt very quickly. Plus my tunes work for any combination of these tires.

Congratulations in the G27 man, stay with it. It gets frustrating at first, but eventually you will get more and more consistent.
