Lock2LockOn what car?
driftmonkey1971Will look tomorrow.
Would there also be V and C versions of other tyres?
Lazy Liquid3 Questions:
- Aren´t these diferent compounds used to emulate diferent width tractions?
- Are there drifters using "cheating" CH tires online to make some specific car more viable?
- I don´t know if i should question it here, but what else people still "moding" and applying online to have some kind of advantage?
1. In a certain way yeah. I haven't had much time to update the OP. In about a week I will update it more.
2 and 3. I wouldn't say cheating really. There are advantages and disadvantages to using these tires (depending on the car, tires, combinations of the tires). Not advantages such as in over one person or another, advantages in feeling, control, and a slight speed difference. Basically the whole point to what the testing I was doing, was to level out some of the ridiculous cars that usually dominate comps.
I use them right now for the better feeling through my wheel.
RayGunn86Interesting stuff, but I'm really just thrilled to see someone confirm that the Spirit R is as grippy as it is. So often I get people using that car that insist they're just better drifters than I. I have no delusions of "elite status," by any means, and I'm constantly making an effort to improve my technique, but it's really frustrating to be surrounded by cars with an inherent and unnatural advantage and have it be credited to skill when I know otherwise. Rant complete.
CallmeDanInteresting findings, Zach! I never thought that PD would do this to cars. I hope they will give the option of choosing which type of tire (C or V) you want.
Quick question, which tire does the RUF BTR get?
Question here - So sorry if this has been asked before - didn't read through the entire thread;
I've tried to enter a restricted CH lounge and they (V) are always recognized as CS (? or medium?).
Why does this happen and how you are not sure they are not in fact CM or CS ?

You must not have been using the hidden tires in the Comfort Hard Class. If the room is restricted to Comfort Hard tires, you can only use Comfort Hard, Comfort Hard Type V, and Comfort Hard Type C.
If you highlight your name while using these tires you will see you are using them. If I am using them and you highlight my name, you will see the default tire that comes on the car. This happened after PD's half 🤬 update which basically enable cheating. Before the update if you highlighted my name it would show the hidden tires if I am using them.
GTGranpaHmmmmm...I DEFINITLY used them V's. Got them through the "special software" and they were defo Comfort Hard V.
Tried on diferent cars and on diferent restricted lounges. Installed, tried to get in..."Restricted to Comfort Hard: Comfort Soft (Or Sports Hard)"...
I've asked this online, answer was; "Yes, you must take lounge restriction off (or at least not just Comf Hard), but you're really drifting with those CH V" (?)
That's why I'm asking...

Megamarcx84I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before but when the hidden tires are selected and equipped to the vehicle, when entering a lobby(private or public) they are automatically deselected and what ever stck tires came with vehicle are put on(which may or may not trigger the message depending on lobby restrictions. Simply reselect them before going on to the track.

MadCyclist- Maybe, but the Spirit R Type A didn't have tires so much wider than the Series 6 to account for the increased performance by way of lateral grip. 255/40R17 versus 225/50R16.
- If it's a car they want to use that has a particular disadvantage attempting to run with cars already equipped with the tires, I don't think it's cheating. If they're cars with a particular advantage when not originally equipped with the tires now using them simply to go faster, I do.
- Everything they possibly can. If that's they're prerogative, I don't think they'll show any restraint at all when trying to gain the upper hand.
