High School

I have a question:

I am wanting my career to be in sports management. I get As to High Bs. What colleges/universities have good programs for this major? And also, coming from a small school, what are my chances of making it there?

I'm planning on taking business at schools that have low 90's cutoffs. Not to mention that I need a scholarship.

If money is an issue, I would go to whichever school gave me the most scholarships.

@D3ATH: It would probably depend on your ACT/SAT scores.

I see. I was looking at Waterloo for Accounting/Finance, and then realized I'm horrific at math. Now I'm at Saint Mary's University in Halifax :D

I've got some killer French homework to do for tomorrow. My friend has been texting me saying he can't do it either. A few weeks ago, we had to write a 100+ word paragraph, which I did fairly easily. Now, we have to learn that paragraph word for word and then write it out again without looking. I can't even remember the first sentence. I don't even know why I took French. Last year it was fun, but this year my teacher just wants us to write, write and write then do exam after exam - without telling us we have one - and then she just talks to all the popular kids and forgets that people like me even exist in the classroom. On Thursday we had a supply and I forgot to take my book home to learn this paragraph. Friday comes around, and she throws my book at me and yells at me because I didn't take it home. That was the only day I didn't take it home, all the days before that, it was at home! When the popular kids get something wrong, it's fine, everyone makes mistakes. When people like me do something wrong, it's like I just turned into Genghis Khan.

The response?

"Bring home a 95% average and you can do whatever you want"

:guilty:

Now here comes the question:

What's more important. A decent social life outside of school with decent grades or no social life outside of school with great grades?

Go hang out with your friends, you should enjoy this life while you can. I know it sounds rebellious but you shouldn't feel obligated to stay home all of the time because of your parents shoving demands down your throat. We're all basically grown up.. You need to take control of your social life.

(All of this is what I basically did, I'm not sure about others parents but mine just accepted my change of lifestyle and moved on)

I'm going to community college, and then transfer to a four year.

I think I have to do this. My Highschool grades are ****... and the thing is.. I'm not even stupid.. I just don't do the work the give me.

Grades are a effort scale basically.

*Sorry for double post*

I agree 100%. My high school's valedictorian has a 27 on the ACT. I'm somewhere around 8th in my class, and I have a 30.

Oh French, my nemesis, the thorn in my side... until I got moved down so now I only do foundation which is uber easy :D (sorry to make you jealous dude) ;)
But the situation about popular kids getting different treatment is extremely evident in my school, one of my friends even had the year leader (whose son is conveniently in my year and popular) come up to him and say "I don't like you and your friends because you're not popular enough with everyone else in the year".... and this is why you shouldn't give me lethal weapons.

I wouldn't do that homework, and I'm almost positive hardly anyone else will do it either. Sure it's one bad grade, but you've got an entire semester to make up for it. At most it will probably only drag you down 2 points on your overall average.

Ok, so I've played football for uhhh . . . long time lol (since like 3rd grade). I know about all these long term effects of football, and how nfl players have all these bad knees and stuff after they retire. My question is should I keep playing it (like high school)? I love the sport but idk about my body. It's taken a beating. I don't want surgeries and to have all these weird things in my body (screws and what not):indiff:

This week will be the last week of the first quarter. I better prepare for all the people who go crazy.

The worst is when teachers rush to fit stuff in.
Also, callum, that first quote in your sig, I get that a lot.
I tend to mumble.

Don't forget about all the head injuries. One reason I haven't played football.

As well as it being homework, it shouldn't count too high on the grade.

German is a little tough to learn now. Seemed a little easy at first but now it's starting to get difficult.

This year has been stressful. Not so great grades in Algebra, yet fantastic grades in Engineering. (How does that work?) Biology is slowly getting lower, however most grades are B's or A's. Hopefully it'll get better.

PSAT's are Wednesday. I have no graphing calculator, neither the money to get one. I guess I'll just grab the smaller simpler calculators that my dad got from Boeing. Can't read though until everyone is done with the test. :grumpy:

What does it mean if someone blushes while talking to someone else? My friend blushes when talking to my girlfriend, so I just wanted to know. I doubt it'll come between the two of us, he's a guy that's very respectful to other people, especially his friends, and I know she doesn't have feelings like that for him. (She finds the whole hipster thing annoying, and he's big into that for one thing) plus she doesn't date friends unless she liked them before they became friends.

My PSATs are Saturday.

Yeah, but tons of kids play it. What are the effects of playing it in say high school. College? Question : "Is it worth it?:

Probably, if you don't plan on being a pro, maybe not, I've been told it destroys your body,

Always wanted to be pro growing up lol. But, now with all these nfl players suing the league, getting carted off the field, and recently http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/20563133/raiders-wr-darrius-heywardbey-not-thinking-about-concussions-its-all-about-the-next-game. What scares me is this ((QUOTE FROM THE ARTICLE))When Heyward-Bey was asked if he ever thinks about the future, his answer says it all: "No. It's all about the next game. When I'm 50, I'll worry about that when I'm there." Ummm, I don't want to be 50 with 5 pounds of screws in my body, and barely be able have a memory.

Sometimes I just wish my school had a motorsports class. That's one class I would do perfect in. My school needs a motorsports club or something

Schwartz
Not a good idea. They'd get in too many disagreements with the insurance and lawyer clubs.

Yeah true... I also realized that the school lunch is the reason I'm getting stomach aches. Lord help me

I have my PSATs on the same day. And despite it being a practice test, I'm pretty nervous for it.

Well, it could mean the person is socially anxious or that they are experiencing embarrassment, being the most common reasons. But there could also be a bit of attraction, although it's not the same as being love-struck.

Well for entrepreneurship class we had to create 8 multiple choice questions for our assignment.

I did, and saved them to my jump drive.

I then lost my jump drive , should have created a backup but I didn't.

Oh well !

Also in co-operative education I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to be an accountant. I have been presented with an opportunity to be a programmer for their new CNC machine.

Should I go for it? It involves a lot of math, which I'm good at, and I'm really interested in it.

Worth a shot.

And I still have 99 in math haha :)
