High School

The style in my school is this mostly: Ethier you're born a farmboy and come to school dressed in baggy jeans and an old, greasy, dirty shirt (about 15%), or you are an athlete, wear Adidas/Nike/Under Armour clothes and want to get the hell out of there (85%).

And there's the two outcasts: One who prides himself on wearing the same clothes everyday, drinking Monsters, and listening to Tupac (he's white), the other which wears old snapbacks, listens to death metal, and makes horrendous claims, once saying he was shot point blank with a Barrett .50 Cal in the shoulder and another time claiming he got on top of the school with a sniper and shot an "albino black panther".

Sounds interesting.

Out of curiosity, where do you live, and how many kids are in that school?

Corn country. Central Illinois, in a town of about 1,000 people. No super market, have to drag our asses to the KMart 15 miles away.

About ninety kids go to my school. Very small.

If he got shot in the shoulder with a .50, then he would have no shoulder.
Evan an M16 will blow your arms off.

Funny thing is, he still won't admit being wrong. He's even got a scratch to prove it!

Whew, our school's a 2600 person megapolis with two levels, two gyms, a track that feels amazing to walk on, a whole bunch of fields, and a parking lot that's too small.

Damn rich kids. =( JK

Let's see:

Junior High is nice, it was built about five years ago, with a nice gym, but the high school...oh, the high school...

Crappy Weight Room
Bricks falling apart from the school
Constant maintenance
Crappy lunches

Athletic facilities aren't bad. The junior high gym is the best in the area, the high school gym is meh, but the track is falling apart. Too bad we can't afford money for a new surface.

On the brighter side, a new, multi-million dollar county high school is being planned. We would have a pool, a fantastic gym/track, and tons of new class options.

We still get the crappy lunches part of the deal, as well as a downright unpleasant locker room, with missing tiles, an awful stench, poor lighting, and an inconvenient exit. Oh well, at least we actually get paper this year. The middle school could never afford its own paper, so we always had to print out our homework assignments and take them to school.:lol:

^ I love my school theyre building a brand new highachool, so were cu rrwntly with the middlers....

But its a nice 5 floor building with multiple gyms and pools and a rooftop park.

Oh wow you have a small town and school.

And the .50 can go through an engine block and still kill, there would be nothing left of that kid if he got hit by one.

There is a giant downside to living in a small town: Anything bad happens at the school involving you (Ex. Fight, arrest, trouble), the whole town knows about it, and never look at you the same again. That's why I wanna get the hell outta here, so I can A. See the nation, as I've lived here my entire life, and B. Get away from the constant watching, and be free.

My school has a couple Asians, mostly white people, about 10-20 blacks per grade and about a dozen Indians.

3 gyms, 2 tracks(1 opened last year), about 2000-2500 people and 4 parking lots. Pretty big school

Mind if I chip in?

Our school is very similar to the high school in terms of ethnic groups.

BE WARNED: INACCURATE PERCENTAGES

Our school consists of...

15% Asian - I'm part of this group. Usually smart students with only a few non-achievers; I'm definitely part of the smart group. Not to sound arrogant, I'm definitely not the smartest, but I have enough self-respect to know that I'm definitely not a B+ student. This group is mostly Chinese, second comes Filipinos (I'm part of this group), and the rest are Japanese/Indian/Middle-eastern.

5% African Americans - This group is normal, they don't act like the media usually portrays them to be, most of them play sports, usually basketball/football, and are a small part of the school. They're usually B to mid A students.

30% Hispanic - A very diverse part of the school in terms of grades and attitude. Some of them are really smart, but then you have the group that are in the "dumb" classes and create about 80% of the trouble in the school. Those people usually overshadow the smart ones, but the ones that are smart or at least not in the lower grades are really friendly. The dumb ones are generally not the type of people you'd hang out with, they're usually in gangs and trash each other when the teacher isn't looking.

50% White/Caucasian - The most talkative out of all the groups. At least 90% of the people in this group knew each other since kindergarten and about 75% of the boys play baseball. This group also contains most of the "popular" kids. Some of them are nice, but most are just childish show-offs. This group usually doesn't get in trouble (except for the wannabe "gangstas"), maybe except for talking in class and wearing their caps in the classroom. Some of them can range from the really talkative and dumb ones, quiet/smart, to even quiet/dumb, and talkative and smart.

I have no problem with anyone in these groups except for maybe some of the idiots in my PE class. Some people in my science class are the talkative/dumb people, and they generally 🤬 me off. They're just annoying, but I ignore them and they treat me nice. I don't really hate those people, they just annoy me. No gothic or emotional people in my school. Not even hipsters. I sort of like it. The high school close by is overcrowded. We have 950 kids in our school, the high school has 2,200+.

I've noticed this trend since the first day of school. They're these little skateboards; I call them fingerboards, but their owners are quick to correct you. They're called Tech Decks. In nearly every class, I get to hear this constant sound of plastic flying and then falling on something, and it's annoying. I can't quite blame the kids who do Tech Deck, as I've tried it, and it is addicting, though I won't let myself get into it. Apparently the teachers share my feelings as well; my TV & Film teacher stopped his tutorial of something camera-related to tell the kid in the front to hold the damn Tech Deck for one second so he could talk. :dunce:

Apparently these Tech Decks are quite expensive as well; one kid insisted he paid $130 total for his, another said he just bought new wheels for $20.

Loving Sixth form. It is so much better than secondary/high school. There are many less douchebags and people who were like that are now much more accepting and while before would ignore/avoid you just out of vanity now will talk too you and generally be nice. Also if your good academically people don't bully you, aslong as your nice to people then people are nice too you. I haven't once been called a nerd for being good at maths, instead people call you smart in a nice way (even the people who would call you a nerd before.) Everyone seems sooooooo much more mature.

You also get lots more freedom, teachers arn't so controlling, the sixth form don't have lots of stupid rules like schools does and the food is much better (you can go offsite so they actually have competition.).

The work is alot harder though, I have 2 long worksheets (1 maths and physics), a documentary to watch and take notes on and an essay to write.

Bit late for this but, my school is around 50% caucasian English, 30% African American, 10% caucasian Polish, 5% oriental Asian and 5% Indian/Pakistani/Arabian.

My school has about 2,000 kids, all types of cliques. I don't really fit into one, my close friends all like biking, skating, cars and that's basically a small clique. Tonight there's a home football game, and the stadium is right next to the school. Right down the hill is the community park and the skatepark I go to most of my free time with my close friends. We're the only regulars there, it's just so close to our houses. So tonight means lots of friends and kids from school staying in town and seeing them around. Not bad, it's a good atmosphere usually.

Did my math test! I don't think I did any stupid mistakes, checked my work, waiting for my 90%+

Sadly however, some 🤬 are joining the School Swim team.... not hyped at all

I live in Alabama. Contrary to the stereotype, only about 1/4 of my school are rednecks. My high school is basically 50/50 white/black. There are less than 30 students who aren't either Caucasian, African American, or mixed in my school. I live in kind of a small town, and I only have 110 or so in my graduating class. I'm going to graduate top 10 and possibly top 5 in my class. There aren't enough students to really have definite cliques.

I tend to hang out with the jocks and the preps although there is no discerning between the 2 groups. The biggest difference between who hangs out with who is what college football team you cheer for . It's either Auburn or Alabama. 90% of the people I hang out with are Auburn fans as am I. Most of the Alabama fans are the rednecks and the fair-weather sports fans.

I'm the only person at my high school that plays GT5. I'm also on my high school's golf team.

The only complaints I have towards high school are the teachers at my school. They are all Southern Baptist which means that you have to address them with Yes M'am, Yes Sir, etc.

I assume that you'd have to anyway as a form of respect no matter what the school.

Plus, it's a lot easier saying 'Sir/Miss' than their last name.

WE WON HOMECOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we all flooded to the middle of the gym floor to hold the torch up high as the senior class was something I'll never forget.

I hate homecoming. It makes everyone go completely crazy. I had a headache all day which made me uncomfortable. Then, during the last hour of school, we had a pep rally. I hate places that are loud and tightly packed. Then, we have the homecoming football game tonight, which is a mandatory pep band performance and if we don't show up, we fail band for the quarter. I'm pretty sure my band director won't accept 'I hate sports so I'm not going to be there' as an excuse.

Our football team has literally won 2 home games in the past 2 years, Varsity, Junior Varsity, and the Freshman team are all winless.

Yup I was at the pep rally. Love them. Felt so good to hold the torch with my friends...

Oh thank god my school's not mental about sports, I'd go bat crazy
Also something that's come around, according to our deputy head (Who we refer to as the overlord) facial hair is not allowed in the uniform policy... I went and researched the policy and not one mention about facial hair was in there... goatee here I come
