So if you hate it, I can say this this one is done completely wrong. My school has done at least 5, all of them more-or-less correctly. It gets annoying after awhile. Just remember, it could be Gangnam Style.

This means I may have to try and find a school that hates the Harlem Shake and transfer there.
SlashfanOne of my friends got suspended for refusing to turn down music, after school was out. And it was my mp3 player lol. Even worse because he didn't do anything wrong. He was abiding state law.
My school doesn't care about the amendments here. I tell em we have free rights and they still don't give a crap.
You lose most of your rights once in school.... unless that's not what you're saying.
If he was on school property rules still apply.
Must be a little different than here.
I'm curious though, even though it may not have said it in the book, it's still applied. it can you elaborate on the state law?
The schools student handbook that is given out with all the rules in it at the beginning of the year clearly states that during school hours no cell phones, Ipods, CD players or any type of electronic device is allowed to be use. Then it clearly states IN BOLD, that 2:40pm you may use them again because obviously school is over. Since this ordeal was after school hours, there is no issue.
The state law says, in a realtively short context, that any noise, music, aircraft etc must be underneath 140dB at most. 120dB is considered acceptable. The music we were playing was at most 85dB (which I highly doubt is that high). The speakers max at 96dB at complete most. The volume was not even close to the max. I looked this up the other night. Besides the fact that there is absolutely no written law prohibiting the playing of music in schools or schoolzones. I spent several hours searching around for this.
It was also not after dark so night rules don't apply either.
This and the fact that they blare music in the weight room, gym and everywhere else. The kid was pissed. And rightfully so.
Interesting. I'm really surprised you actually had the handbook. Usually those are gone within a week.
Aiming to bring this to the school?
rap129Hey guys, i've been following this thread for awhile and decided to join in the conversation . I'm not in High School yet, but got my course choices today. In 9th grade we can choose 2 electives. I'm a percussionist and in the school band... Well next year if your in band it counts as 2 electives.. Almost like penalizing you for being in band.. I'm not happy at all.
