High School

I have never read a more true post on this forum.
You and I have taken the same tests as we live in the same state. You know what I'm talking about. +1
Helll same here man. We have this thing called HSA's they are state tests in Maryland and you have to pass all 3(if you started HS in 2010) which consist of Algebra, English, Biology. Now if your a 9th grader this year then you have to take all 4 which consists of algebra, english, biology, government.

We have what's called a regents diploma. In order to get that (they have an advanced one too that involves taking classes you don't need), you need to pass many many many "regents" exams or you will not graduate. The whole state takes them, but on the math one, they have a curve for New York City because apparently they are dumb. All tests you need to have a 65% to pas, but on the Math one you can get a 35% and pass. I would know, I failed it with a 64%. Talk about pissed off. Then on top of that they said they gave me a point to pass, come to find out my senior year (this is now 3 years later), they lied and I still required a math credit to graduate. I've covered that here before. Assholes.

They had what was called ELA exams (English Language Arts) in Elementary school.

Regents are a bitch, I'm going for Advanced and I'm mostly done and I'm only a Sophomore. Also, my English teacher apparently is the top one in the state so she is essentially writing the curriculum for next year, so I'm taking college level English in 10th grade.

I hate regents exams. DREAD them. Thank god I finished my last 2 up in my Junior year. I am taking the standard regents diploma because I don't want all the extra trash. IDK how you'd be done, I'd be jam packed through my senior year if I took it. Luckily I was smart and took the normal one so I have a rather easy senior year.

iIf anyone wants to know what these tests are like, they have ones from months and years past here. Many of whichthat I an Jahgee here have taken.

I've taken the June 2011 Integrated Algebra, June 2011 Earth Science, June 2012 Geometry & June 2012 Living Environment ones, if they actually list the specific exams.

Wow, didn't think they could do that.
They are tests that have already been administered. Since they change it up every year, why would they care? I hate how particular they are though. "You can't open your booklet until I tell you to do so". Shut the 🤬 up.
On the news they had some superintendent who had the kids cheat on their standardized tests xD
I wouldn't doubt it. Some of these tests are pretty difficult. Granted I never study or them either. I've had a few questions where I look at it and go what? We never learned that XD

So if North Korea is planning to start up that nuclear bomb thing again, does that mean we have school next week? Lol

My school still has a bomb shelter underneath it complete with tunnels, a shooting range, sand pits and more lol. The tunnels lead off school grounds but a few were sealed off. Might have to re-open them though lol.

Don't ask me how I know this stuff is down there....

Haha. I think a few of them went to the Underground Railroad (has a history in the village my school is in) and I think that's why a few got sealed off.

Anyways we had our senior class pictures last week. We had our kindergarten classes reunited (as best we could), people who moved away and to here and then a few full class photos. It was funny as my friend pointed out the distinct sections people sat in. The preps sat in front, the weirdos to the right (though I'm friends with most of them), and the stoners on the other side. I was with the stoners XD

I'm having to deal with all the graduation crap at the moment. I was class favorite by some miracle lol.

Yeah I hear ya. I don't plan on going to graduation but they are planning to display our exit projects. I have completely and utterly half assed the entire thing so I promptly told them if they display it, I WILL set it on fire in front of everyone. I was and am dead serious. Do not think for one minute I will not do it.

Hell my English teacher even said he'd bring me a lighter and help me do it =P

Eactly. I don't want people seeing that garbage. Bad enough I have to do it as it is.

I have to bust my arse in regular class enough. I don't need any "extraneous barnyard material" to do as well

I got mostly everything I could done before my senior year. I've only really got 3 classes that are required by the state left.

Pretty much the same here. I didn't have to take a math this year. Physics is tricky though.

As I said before I wouldn't have to take math but the stupid school....

I don't have to take physics.

They're gnna launch, and they're gonna launch over the pole and it will hit Santa Claus, no doubt about it. So when your children ask why they didn't get what they wanted...

Any of y'all planning a senior prank?

No, as I am not a senior, but I don't think they are allowed anymore. Last year ad a freshman I was told to be careful towards the end of a gear because I senior prank was coming, but nothing happened and I blame it on the school. The staff mission statement is something about preparing yourself for the future, blah blah blah... But it should really say: "If it's fun, we won't let you do it," because this is also a school where people were suspended for doing a Harlem shake.

The last day of sixth formers is always great at my school. One year, someone went up to the school roof, and let a massive flag down the side of the building, which had a d**k drawn on it.

Also the next year, in the food hall there is a balcony, so all the sixth formers went up there, and threw flour water and eggs at everyone.
