High School

I started having senioritis (or whatever it's called) in the 6th grade  I absolutely hated school, still do, though not as much as I used to.

The whole school smelled like dead fish around fourth block today. Turns out Biology class was disecting Sharks. :yuck:

I think I caught that too, like back in January. It's not very encouraging when school ends in just over a month and you're starting to get anxious to get out but yet the teachers are increasing the amount of work, and things are getting harder and even though you're trying harder you're getting worse grades and school's starting to seem like this big heavy coat that's weighing you down and you have to worry about finals and passing certain classes but at the same time you sort of don't care, but you have to. Yeah, I got that. Really wish school would end already, it feels like it's been forever.
This!

I think the cause of my hate is how wasteful it is, or perhaps how much we could be doing that could better me for the future. I know for absolutely sure that I don't want to be a historian, or an English teacher, or a writer, or anything that involves history or advanced English classes. So why am I forced to waste my time there when I know that I'm not going that direction? It's so frustrating. I understand that they want to expose us to a lot so we can have ideas of what we want to do with our lives, but I've been taking history and English for 10 years now. I know that's not what I'm interested in.

If I could take 2 or 3 science classes and multiple math classes I would be much happier. Also a music theory class would be fantastic.

Plus, they need to have us apply our knowledge to real world situations. It's so much different, or at least I would imagine, using geometry, for example, in construction or something like that. So I could know how to ace a test on it, but have me use it where it matters and I am lost.

Where you go to a vocational school for more hands on and useful classes. I have an auto tech class where we take a business over, then after being there for 3 hours we get bused back to our homeschool.

We have some system like that but the problem is my schedule is currently filled with BS requirements so I can't.

I've got a very serious question for all of you.

High school can become very stressful for many people. Do you think schools should come up with some way to alleviate stress? I'm not sure if this is a scientific fact, but when school stresses me out, I know that I do worse, and I know some friends that also do worse. Do you think there is anyway to take care of this problem?

2 week internships started today. :)

@Bubble

Hmm that's a good idea. Not really sure how it would work though.

I know.

1 period of video games =P

Shouldn't this be the responsibility of the student to tell their own parents about their stress? Parents also have the responsibility to help their child with stress.

BTW, I know not every here has a family like that, so don't take offense.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate my generation? I could write an essay on it, but i'm too lazy, which is another problem that I have XD

You're not the only one who hates it, in my social studies class today I wanted to bash my head into my desk because of the stupidity.

The whole point of school is to teach how to manage stress in life, I'd say. Or at least a large part of it. Certainly can't ask for a timeout in the "real-world" if things get a bit hectic.

In my government class, I have all the preppy rich kids in my class and they always interrupt and yell and scream and seem to have no boundaries. I turn to my friend and say "and I though we were bad." Too bad our teacher is a long term sub who is mostly clueless and won't do anything, if I were the teacher, there kids would be kicked out of class or sent to the office consistently, at least a detention (which they don't go to because they rule world, obviously)

Oh well, my ball team lost 15-1 continuing our season of drama and that one kid who doesn't help rake the field afterward because he's "too good" for it while he gets pulled in the 4th inning because he can't get on base.

MY daily rant is over, please continue for your daily life, thanks for reading.

So, apparently the people who got on honor roll last quarter are going on a field trip to the movies tomorrow. I'm eligible to go on the trip, but I have no information about it. I really don't want to look like an idiot and ask on Facebook though. I think I'll just go to school like normal, bring my wallet, and a change of 'normal clothes', since people going on field trips can sometimes not have to be in uniform. The other issue is what movie we would go to see, because I'm picky in that aspect. :scared:

I think its up to you to sort out the stress of school, if you have other sources of stress on top, then it might be good to seek out professional help if you're struggling.

Don't get me started... I'm a senior in a Jr chem class because I took AP physics my Jr. year and it is unbearable, I swear I know 5th graders that could understand the concepts better than these kids. No common sense either. Yes overall I am embarrassed by our generation for the most part.

Thats nothing... I had a kid in my class that seriously thought cars were invented in the mid 1600's. I could go on for days about all of the stupid stuff this one person truly believes.

On another note, my date to the military ball canceled. Too late to ask another girl but not late enough that I was disappointed.

A blonde in my government class tried to argue that Andrew Jackson was the first president.

Reminds me of one time last year, during a lecture by my pre ib world history and geography when one of the girls asked if Prussia was in Russia. Keep in mind this was a advanced class.

He's not too far off. The "first car" was invented sometime in the 1700's by a French man named Joseph Cugnot iirc.

Iiiiiincidentally, you can make the argument that Prussia is in Russia if you say that Prussia's capital (until 1701) was in Königsberg, which is now in Russian controlled territory.

Of course, they certainly weren't thinking that.

The same girl thought the UK was a continent.

Wasn't Prussia German? Anyway, I used to sit next to this gay kid in science. Ugh, he slurped on his water like splrtg splrtg and I just wanted to punch him in the face. He always played with the things our teacher gave us. I always said stop, but he wouldn't. The kid needed a fricken' class on how to stop. And to top it all off, he hadn't reached puberty until he was 17. Before that, he legit sounded like a girl. BUT, one day I couldn't take it. He had kneed my seat. I had dropped his pencil on the ground and he ran around the room like a chicken with it's head cut off! I wanted trip him, but I had a reputation of being a "teacher's pet". which got me the ladies.

I must go to a pretty good school because I never see or hear of the idiocy everyone else here is rattling off about. Either that or I'm one of the idiots too. :dopey:
