High School

Because prom is stupid and not worth $40+ when it's like every other dance you could go to every other year that costs like $3 to get in and dressing up is dumb

Pretty much. đź‘Ť Why spend hundreds of $ arranging some sort of "big night" when you could just sit at home watching TV or or playing games with a bottle of Coca Cola and a bag of chips (or whatever food/drink fits your tastes) for less than $10? And do so while wearing clothes that don't make you worry about what will happen if you stretch your limbs too far (which costed far less money).

The only negative is the lack of change to normal lifestyle. Which is sort of bad, as you can't really live life truly without change.

Google it, all chem homework becomes 10x easier (Which is also ironically how to do pH, to increase by x, multiply by 10^x, to decrease by x, multiply by 10^-x)

No I need to get the pH from the morality of sulfuric acid.

Broke the window on a door at the rear entrance of the school.

Was an accident.

Sounds like my daily routine.

Last day of school is June 7th for me. I still have finals, which I only have to do 2 of, and a dumb, new, state-wide test, called the MSL, for every class except for band.

My school is a complete joke with the budget they are doing next year. They are removing some sports and you have to pay-to-play sports. They don't realize what Sports does to some kids. It keeps them out of trouble and gives something for them to do. You have poor kids that really can't afford to pay money to do sports.

I found out they paid a couple thousand dollars to get a guest speaker at our school. They could have thrown a couple thousand dollars to their own sports program.

Hm, keeps them out of trouble? Ya, well that must be why everyone on the football team at my school gets high together all the time.

Aw, pay to play sports? Poor them! Why isn't there more music funding? At my school it costs $1000! Music is the lowest concern of anyone who has power in my district. Plus, marching bands holds greater educational and team-building skills than any sport ever will.

Finished my band concerts for this year. They were awesome! (last night and this morning)

Anyone know what drummers madness is? :D

Also someone told me today that marajuana isnt harmful .... They said because it doesnt have nicotine in it... I dont think they took/remember the drug portion in health class

For some kids it does. The guys that get high all the time wait until the season is over before they get high again. We threw about $2000 into the music/drama program 3 years ago, which is why 1/3 of our new wing in the school is dedicated to music and theater.

Music and drama are totally different different new things. $2000 is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. When you have 60 people in the marching band (which is small, but it doesn't matter), $2000 doesn't even make a dent in the cost for anyone, especially when it's split between band, choir and drama.

Everything for music these last few years. All new band room, new instruments, new choir room, piano class for students, with brand new pianos (a lot of people take it), and all other music classes(band class, choir, etc.) come back because students want it. Music is huge in our school. People love it but about 5 years ago the music program sucked. Now it is way better and it is better then most of the schools in the surrounding areas.

I understand you care about music programs but as of right now our music is fine and it would be a waste to throw more money into it.

Been done with classes since the 17th... Just had our graduation ceremony today. Feels pretty good to be officially done. Kinda gonna miss it though, can't lie.

I wish my school was like that.

So my Freshman year officially ended at 11:30 on Thursday, but I wasn't quite able to relax. I didn't do so well in TV & Film during the third quarter, and I needed a pretty good grade for fourth quarter and for the final to get a C in the class. Finally today I found out that I passed, which has lifted a monumental weight off my shoulders, as well as a lot of dread. I feel so much better.

This is my last week of proper school, and next week is Finals and graduation. A bit nervous, but I think I'm pretty well sorted at the moment.

Don't be nervous. I had to pass four of my classes to graduate. I wasn't nervous at all. As for the graduation, it isn't all that bad. It's just a few speeches really. It flew by atleast for me... Well I was trying to stay awake most of the time.

Just talk to the people that you are sitting by to past time.

Just today, Wednesday, and Thursday, and I'm done with this year. Then Summer school... :indiff:

I have about 3 more weeks until my sophomore year is finished. I'm having trouble studying and doing homework considering summer is right around the corner.

I only have 7 more actual school days left then 2 days of finals and then Regents. I also have to do the speaking part of the Spanish Proficiency Exam tomorrow :grumpy:

Then Summer school... :indiff:

Sounds bad. I had to go to summer school for all 4 years of High School. It wasn't fun. I had to ride a bus which was basically a yellow furnace, and my summer got taken up. I went to summer school until July typically.

Just keep those grades up.
