High School

I'm not quite sure how you can call yourself the only introvert in the class. Unless you know everyone on a personal level, which most introverts don't, you don't really know just how people are on the inside. A lot of my classmates would think I'm funny and 'happy' a lot of the time, although I tend to be quiet in class. What they don't know is that I'm a really introverted and, depressed (there I said it), on the inside. They don't know my life story, the things that have happened, the things I'm going through right now, my social anxiety, and how it all affects me. They know what they see on the outside. I'm not saying you should know everyone that extensively, just don't assume that you're the only _________ because I can assure you that there's more than just you.
All I can say is that every other person in the class is as open as can be without being a nuisance to anyone, except for me. I'm by far the quietest person in the class.

That's what you see and think. Some of us, myself included on occasion, are really good at masking stuff like that. People may seem open but may actually feel really nervous, embarrassed, etc. and just want to "get out" of that situation.

In other news, I'm off all week thanks to Thanksgiving Break. The only downside to this is that after Winter break, there are literally no others minus maybe three days for Spring Break. At least I'll have school to keep me occupied.

I'm glad that this year's semester is over here. But the last day was ruined for me thanks to this short guy who taunted me just because I accidentally joined him and two others hugging each other without realising it's for a photo.

Well, atleast I got 7th and he got second last in class.

Some of these teachers at my school really need to learn how to work with introverts like me. This happened a while ago, but I was in math class and one of two or three other students who had to redo a quiz because they failed it. I was the only introverted person out of the others. The teacher goes up to the others at their desks and says what she needs to say, but calls me out of the blue and out loud saying I need to retake it. That embarrassed me, which people of my kind don't want. Any other freaking person in the room, and the teacher would have went up to the student instead of making the student go to them. But no, not me. Not the class's only introvert.
That's not introversion. At least not under the Jungian definition. "Introversion" and "extroversion" refer to where you get your energy from. Introverts get their energy from working alone, and expend it working in groups; conversely, extroverts get their energy from working in groups, and spend it working alone.

It's more likely that your teachers see that you're not as engaged as the rest of the class and are trying to figure out where you're at. We want to be sure that you're meeting your content requirements, simply because you can't afford to fall behind - but if you do, we'd rather know about it sooner as opposed to later.

Again, this comes down to your need to learn tolerance. It's got nothing to do with your introversion, so stop hiding behind it, and stop throwing around terms that you don't understand.

Alright so I need some advice on dating issues. So I went over to my girlfriend's house and her parents weren't home. We ended up making out and stuff and we went to her room and just sorta touched eachother and stuff. Nothing sexual at all. The next day she was saying how she thinks I'm just dating her for sex. I don't understand why she would say that when it was her idea for me to come over. Any advice would be appreciated. :tup:PS. I didn't know her parents wouldn't be home.

Don't you think that should go in the Relationships thread instead of the High School thread?

Wrong thread indeed. But that's ok, Did you engage her first by kissing her or touching her? If not, IDK why she would say that. Just remember that women win all the time. Simply apologize and say something meaningful. And remember, DO NOT text her. Be a man and say it to her IRL. She'll think that you really mean it and it will increase your chance of her accepting your apology. Hope this helps!

My bad I couldn't find that thread, can you give me a link?
Here's that
or you can listen to him instead.

She kissed me first right when I walked in the door.

I feel sorry for you. I can't deal with my school the way they get into trouble but even worse for you. Good luck.
Whoops, that came out wrong. I wasn't being sarcastic! My school actually is nice because they don't give out enough suspensions!

I have a question to all the people who work and go to school.

I just applied to work at Target. I put in evening hours for weekdays and any time for weekends. considering that my homework load is fairly low this year, how hard do you think working and "schooling" will be combined for me?

So today in science we continued learning about the mole. The unit, not the animal. We also tried to guess the number of pennies the teacher had in a container. Getting an average mass from some of the pennies (Though not finding out the mass of the container, which may have gotten us a closer estimate), I think our estimate was 530 pennies. I counted with the teacher and another student at the end of class and we counted 544. Not bad.

Gotta remember avagadro's number it was the most important thing in my chemistry class. Everything had something to do with it

Yeah, we went over Avogadro's number. For Chemistry 11, we only have to remember 2 decimal places, so 6.02 X 10^23.

First day back from Thanksgiving break, and I brought the wrong binder into school, also didn't help when my alarm went off at 12am, so in short today was a bit of a mess.

I remembered the time I learned about avagradro's number in chemistry, and bombed the test about it. I wasn't really upset that I failed the test, but I was kinda p***** that I took the test on my birthday. :banghead:

I thought chemistry was hard until I got to physics. Of course my teacher just hands us assignments and only shows us what to do if we have a question on a homework assignment

Oh god, physics. I've been finding chemistry easy enough, but I took physics for a while this year, and it was a major pain. Some concepts I understood, but overall I simply couldn't keep up. I dropped it after about 5 weeks, it was just too stressful.

I'm going to try and push it through till the end of the year so I don't have to take a remedial class next year in college
