High School

First day of Sophomore Year is the Wednesday after Labor Day, our school is very small (First year in a while that we have over 300 kids, and we are a Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade school). I have a close group of friends (4 of us with 5 not as close friends that we hang out with a lot) and its not that stressful, though taking 11th grade classes isn't easy, it will at least help me out later in life.

How could you sack someone if you were playing QB?

I played Defensive End, and Offensive Guard. Spent a considerable amount of time on-field when I wasnt injured.

My bad, let me rephrase... Sometimes I played as QB. Mosr of the time I played as a runner, left or right flank, depending on where the opening would be.. their coach would get so pissed.. good times.

Just had my first day of high school in a new state at a new school where I don't know anyone, and everyone knows each other because they all went to the same middle school together. The classes were okay, but I have no friends. :(

Good, then most people might not know about you and the things that you may have done before. Enjoy meeting new people, you'll eventually fall in. I wish I had your situation my Freshman year.

Tomorrow take 3 packs of gum... bet you'll have friends then haha

Gum, secretly hiding a bag of Doritos in your backpack, m&m's in your pockets, and a water bottle.

That was my high school survival kit.

Not in pocket, put the M&M's in a pouch in your backpack, wouldn't want them to melt.

Had my first day today as a junior. Not really pleased with one of my classes being downgraded from Honors. Time to have a word with the office.

I'm on my victory lap. It's a long ass lap on Nurburgring type roads.
Lucky you. Now don't crash on the final lap now  .
The key to high school survival.
I wish, but how is this going to help with the stresses of secondary school?

Again, how is this going to help you with secondary school stresses?

Second day of school finished. Better than yesterday. Met some people, but then my schedule was changed so I'm back to square one.

Well I got my schedule for the first semester today at registration. I have Co-op, math, and Entrepreneurial Studies. The teacher for my math teacher is the same one I had in grade 10 who I hated. So I think I'll switch my math class, since there are two classes I won't be taking in the second semester. Gives me the freedom to choose, plus I still want my two spares that I am allowed to have, because I have never failed a class and never will. Then again I'm not required to even take math this year, not required to get into the college I'll be attending either.

So, I'm a senior. Can't believe it myself. Still, nice schedule. Honours linear algebra first period and AP BC Calculus second is a bit crazy, though.

I have Trig first, then gym second. Complete opposite sides of the school. Rest of my schedule is awesome. I get to go to my locker between every period.

Have lunch with my girlfriend for A day, but B day I don't. :(

Went to my engineering class today, sounds really fun! Our first project is to build a paper bridge able to sustain 20 pennies. Then we get to build a robot and program it. After that we build anything we want. (There's some more stuff he hasn't told us yet.)

German class is also a lot of fun. The teacher we have majored in French, German, and Spanish, knows Russian, and is learning Mandarin Chinese. He's also a cool guy!

High school seems better than expected. Though it's a small school. (Freshman center) At least I can walk my girlfriend to her classes.

You want a cool guy?
The physics teacher in my school speaks English, German, French, and Spanish.
Was a POW in Vietnam.
Can write two different things at the same time using each hand.
And he's RIDICULOUSLY smart.
He's a little crazy though. Other teachers say it's PTSD.

I don't believe it(not calling you a liar but, how do you go from a POW to a professor??

That's pretty cool!

Our teacher said he was going to be an agent in the CIA as well.

I didn't believe it either, but all the other science teachers say so. Most of them are the "no-BS" type of teachers.
I think he triple majored too as a matter of fact.

Believe it if you want.

I find it astonishing that you guys have teachers with those kinds of backgrounds.

Well, going to 9th grade this year. & a new school. I hope all goes well for me. :scared:

So did I. And so far, t'was pleasing. My schedule is setup as Day 1 and Day 2, each of them only 4 periods (excludes homeroom) since I'm in an IB program. What I don't like about it though is that I don't have any electives, and I specifically chose Art to at least take up a period. Instead, I have 2 study halls and I pretty much do nothing in my length in one already. As for my teachers, they're all pretty nice. My Spanish mentor loves telling stories & has a humorous personality, while my Algebra teacher is quite clever. He'd showed the class a quasi-giant countdown timer that has a sound of a submarine diving when time is up lol. As for the others, I guess they're at least dramatically more well-rounded than the ones I had in junior high.

Yeah I start school next week. Really hope I can keep it going well, unlike my previous school.

My school was in lock-down yesterday because of a bomb threat.

We all lived, and everything was good. Turned out to be a prank (Surprise).

Why doesn't that happen over here again 👎 ? Or maybe your teachers have been watching too many movies recently 💡 ?

A couple years ago some kid wrote on a bathroom stall "12-gauge massacre on (put date here)"
Free day off.
