you mean this ? ..

Accually I was talking about an other race, one of the last I did yesterday. I'm kinda surprised I did that time (6'09.6). I didn't look at the time at the end of that race. :dopey:

Hi everybody

After a very nice battle against Racer_LP yesterday, I decided to join this forum aswell. It seems like the GTP-Drivers don't drive with the stockcar rules, but are keen on some real racing. I appreciate that and looking forward to more races like that!

Does that meen, that you drove that fast with the normal controller yesterday?

he you,good race there!!!send you a pm...
welcome to gt-planet!!👍

spyrrari.

but on this one i was on my own .. was in 1'st from start to finish and it really felt fast for my old GT-R , but everyone has his fast and less fast moments .
It's really a privilege to race with you guys 👍

That has to be the absolute record with a GTR in online HSR !!! And, done without any pull from drafting, it's indeed amazing !!!

Congratulations! 👍 👍 👍

Again good many many good races today (tonight), and offcourse the mandatory bad ones.
But life goes on, tomorrow at some point i'll be racing again and hoping to see many, many GTP_tagget players.

I was thinking something.
When you're getting lapped your car turns into a ghost, but slipstreaming remains the same.

Now picture that 1 player waits 1 lap and picks up with the leader in the following lap.
When both drivers use the same racing line, 1 will always be ahead, creating a slipstream for the other.
This should cause a reaction where both cars accelerate much faster and reach a higher top speed.
A bit the same with bump drafting, but no initial loss of speed for the car giving the push.
+ you can use it in corners without having the risk of ramming each other.
The only drawback in corners is that grip will be decreased, but using different line when entering the corner should give you enough grip to brake fast.

I wonder what kind of laptimes you could accomplish by using this technique.

Me. Me! *waves*

Brilliant nights racing with loads of GTP guys. You know who you are. Had a really good race with a bloke called soVereign166[DE] too.

I switched over from the 430 to the GT-R tonight and I seemed to do better even though it seems to be slightly slower. Probably down to the fact you start higher up the grid.

I raced you a couple of times too... :embarrassed:

Anyway tonight was a blast, again (reffering to yesterday). Made a couple of new friends here:) Thanks and keep racing!

Finally got connected long enough to have a few decent races!

Thanks to Hun and Energyia for "nursing" me around the HSR on my new ride (GTR), which I had to use to start ahead of the "traffic".

And mr_geez, fast and fair as usual!

Also found mestre_andre again, and we ended up dominating HSR with "traffic" finishing 15/20 sec behind for the last hour. Or should I say, he dominated and I followed :P

Now... must.. sleep...
Too.. many... mistakes...
Head... aches... from... hitting... walls... :ouch:

Oh of course James May, how coudl I forget :D good racing my friend!!!

I raced you a couple of times too... :embarrassed:

yes I remember, good racing mate!!! Think I may have knocked you one time and then tried to wait to let you past, but a huge train of cars piled past before that could happen. Sorry for the inconvenience :)

I don't think it's random, since I can see a pattern. As an example, there was one night where in almost every ocasion I would be always the last Nissan, and Slicecom the 1st Ferrari.

One other pattern is that, when ENERGIYA is racing (GTR, like me), 99% of the races he starts behind me.

I think maybe it has to do with your connection, or the timing of you hitting "X" (Start), don't know ...
/
I think it has to do with when you push start for the race. me and marchbrown are on the phone sometimes to start at the same time, and we see that the gt5p clock varies with up to a few seconds on our systems from day to day. even though we only live a few km away from eachother with practically the same connection speed.

i also notice that some evenings i start alot around 10,11,12, and then other evenings its alot of 4,5,6.
i believe it is set by the gt5p clock when pp are the same(default)

There is something that affect it as I did yesterday ~10 races with GTR and Started on pole EVERY time.. :D ..and usually I'm one of the first f430 too if in that car. But I have noticed that if not driving so good (read: drunk), then not so high at the grid.

Also I know a trick to get me further on the grid (worked like a charm on suzuka 600), or then I'm just imaging... (not telling.. lol)

;)

I was yesterday almost every time first or second F430. It cant depend of driving history, cause I was racing with my other ID, and I haven't race with it earlier...also, I sucked. My wife and babyboy were sleeping in next room, so I could not do any quick moves cause DFP keeps so terrible noise then. I hate that. Even my many terrible runs, I was always one of the firsts on the grid.

I think you are one of the firsts, because you suck too? ;)

I notice i tend to get fairly harsh grid slots. usually 7th or lower, almost never higher than that. On the flipside, it is good for my driving to practice passing people and last night scored my first ever victory from 12th on grid, it felt pretty good! :D

thanks for the great racing last night guys..{too many too mention all} look forward to some more this night..

I think you probably hit the X button a few seconds before the red hand meets the 12?

I have to say that I do that! I never was thinking it affects to grid positions, I only wanted to be sure I will be in. Now everybody is going to hit X few seconds earlier. I promise I wont do it anymore, hope everybody else is not gonna start that either...

It was fun to see you in front of me at the start, with a GTR. So, having in mind you should be getting used to the car, for the first two laps I just followed you and bumped you in the straight to gain some speed.

However, I messed it all up before the end. As a consolation, the only Ferrari that got to us was mr geez's 👍 ... no punters in sight for an entire race make for a very enjoyable experience :)

btw, to all that PM'ed me during the night, without reply ... sorry ... after racing I fell asleep (again) on the couch :dopey:
