If I remember correctly you have to upload the picture to an image sharing site and then copy the source link here. I only did it once so my memory is a bit sketchy.

EDIT: This is straight from R1600Turbo from January:

"You need to right click on the image and select "copy image location" OR click the "share" tab at the top, click HTML/BB Code, then copy and paste that link here."

Okay, thanks,I was trying to use direct links, and then I tried saving to my docs/pictures and yeah nothing..oh well.

I've deliberately tried to pick road cars because historic car races in GT always have a complete lack of field depth.

really? I didn't know this. Can you explain/go into more detail?

"During this time, we were able to visit with Ayrton Senna (the late F1 Champion) and Honda's Tochigi Research Center. The visit related to the fact that at the time, McLaren's F1 Grand Prix cars were using Honda engines. Although it's true I had thought it would have been better to put a larger engine, the moment I drove the Honda NSX, all the benchmark cars—Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini-I had been using as references in the development of my car vanished from my mind. Of course the car we would create, the McLaren F1, needed to be faster than the NSX, but the NSX's ride quality and handling would become our new design target. Being a fan of Honda engines, I later went to Honda's Tochigi Research Center on two occasions and requested that they consider building for the McLaren F1 a 4.5 litre V12 or V14. I asked, I tried to persuade them, but in the end could not convince them to do it, and the McLaren F1 ended up equipped with a BMW engine."
Gordan Murray, McLaren F1 designer.

The McLaren F1 would've still been designed, but it would have been different.

I think:
  1. All Le Mans Prototypes that aren't already Premium
  2. Both Chaparralls
  3. GT40 Race Car

There's a one or two more whose name I can't remember as of now.

BUGATTI VEYRON
This should be premium-ified because it moved the production car power war into a different stratosphere altogether - In fact it may have started the war. It will be a true legend of a car in years to come despite some people thinking it is not deserved. Also, when a couple of others had it in their sights it was unleashed as a Supersport which is simply mind blowing.

TOYOTA GT-ONE
Speaking of legendary cars here is the GT-one. People have a real soft spot for this as it was about 15mins from winning 24h du Mans in 1999 when it got a puncture while rapidly catching the BMW V12 LMR. I remember watching that and being heartbroken! Regardless, if we see a premium version in GT6 we should at least have the awful engine note replaced.

CHAPARRAL 2J
What else can you say about this but car but it was banned because it was so much faster than everything else. Chaparral's 2J was ruled illegal because it had a snowmobile engine powering the fan which gave the car colossal grip by sucking it toward the track surface. McLaren were miffed, protested then were delighted when Chaparral decided to quit the series altogether.
Also, it looks like a giant chest freezer. That alone should be enough!

dude, thank you so much for posting this.

I knew there was something involved w/ Honda, but I didn't know it had such an impact on Murray.

I've always kind of liked NSXs, but this really makes me look at them in a whole new light.

had to quote this, couldn't let this post die at the bottom of a page.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this yet.

1955_Mille_Miglia_Moss_Jenkinson_300_SLR-L.jpg

The Mercedes 300 SLR that took Stirling Moss and Dennis Jenkinson to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia.

I'm actually very surprised that PD hasn't put in a normal Lamborghini Diablo (not the Nomad) in a GT game yet.

I should explain why this car should be in this game. This car is a very famous and it looks really good and if we have other Lambos in the game why can't this one be in as well.

Second that!!!

Historical significance:

It was by far the most awesome car in Need For Speed III. 'Nuff said, no discussion.

Not really historic I know, but still. Dat SV logo!

I agree that Lamborghini Diablo has had enough of an impact on car culture that it has left a mark on History. Definitely should be a premium.

Personally, I wouldn't feel very comfortable driving that car, knowing that it killed some 80 people and injured another 120 in a crash at Le Mans in 1955.

I can sympathize with this remark because nowadays there are so many idiots watching races to see crashes and people got injured. And that particular tragedy is a turning point in motorsport history that cannot be forgotten.

But, by saying that you should feel unconfortable with so many other cars. People crash Corollas every day. Many of them got killed.

What killed those people were an accident. Circunstances, poor security standards, fatality and many, many, many other factores in that particular day and moment.

The car, by itself, can't be blamed. It wasn't an weapon and wasn't used as one.

It may be that Corollas crash every day, but I don't associate them with horrible tragedy. This car I do, though, and that's why I wouldn't want to drive it. For me it would be like dancing on a mass grave, it wouldn't feel appropriate.

And I'm not blaming the car, or anyone involved in that race. I just feel that it should rest in peace.

Aston Martin DB5

Yes, It is the "James Bond car", but this model is responsible for making Aston-Martin such a charismatic brand. I would love have one on my garage (and who doesn't?)

Maserati 250F

Dozens were made in the late 50s. The first batch came with a straight six engine. The last batch adopted a larger, and more "vocal", V12. Fangio drove one in 54. In that year he became world champion again, with the points he got in Maserati and Mercedes.

Fangio in the former Gasometer corner in Monaco:

Brabham BT-52

A monster of the turbo era, designed by Gordon Murray. The straight 4 engine made by BMW could deliver 1200 hp on qualifying spec. Tons of power and very little downforce would make this car a really challenging one to drive.:scared:

One thing is for sure: as soon as they put this car in the game, people would try to recreate the accident and post it on youtube...

In respect of the edited OP, here's my choices with added reasons.

Golf Mk1 GTI - The greatest hot hatch of all time and still extremely popular. Early examples of even non GTI models are fetching really good money these days. A real icon.

Lotus Carlton - Nicknamed 'Thunder', this was one of the first really fast road going saloons. It has a 3.6 straight six and twin turbos. Only 950 were ever made.

190e Evo & Evo II - Road going version of the DTM race car. Only 502 were made, 500 in Blauschwarz and 2 in Astral Silver. Highly collectable

Karmann Ghia - One of the most beautiful cars ever made. Very sought after.

Audi Quattro & Sport Quattro - The Quattro should be premium with no excuses. I would like to see the Sport Quattro added because it's the SWB version that was built to satisfy homologation rules in rallying. Approx 200 were made.

Beetle RSI - Very limited edition version of the new beetle, only 250 produced. Has a 3.2 V6 and 4WD. Tuning gurus HPA of Canada have a nippy little twin turbo version too, which would be nice to have.

etc,etc....too many to list.

All racing / rally cars - Motorsport cars are just amazing, such a varied bunch of vehicles and specs too. Each one has at least one good story to tell as well. A good start would be to have all current and past racing cars in GT premiumized, then start at A in the alphabet.

Surely this is just another more than just a wishlist, no?

I'm also adding...

Golf G60 Limited - Only 71 ever produced. 16v G60 supercharged engine. I want one for real but, they now cost £20,000+.

Golf Rallye - Box arched 4WD supercharged golf. Built as a homologation special. 5000 produced.

I <3 VAG.

I really want to see the Toyota Sprinter Trueno/Levin (AE86) made into a premium model. The Trueno is my personal favourite car but I know these cars have fans all over the world. Popular drift cars and famous for being the star of Initial D.

I remember that happening a lot with Flight Simulator after the WTC attack. But I guess it's a way to try and deal with events that are difficult.

Peugeot 205 T16 and Renault 5 Turbo. First, they're the two cars I drive most in GT5. Second, they're emblematic Group B cars. Third, they have cult status in France. Fourth, they're gorgeous!

Been looking around for cars for a while, and now I found this:

800px-Volvo_highest_mileage.jpg

It's a Volvo P1800, and the holder of the Guinness world record for highest mileage. It's approaching 3 000 000 miles!
