Ah, you're farther than you let on. Farther than I'll get. Best of luck on a successful pregnancy.

Yup... right now.

Well 11 weeks as said on the first page, she had an early scan as the midwife was un-nerved by something that I won't go into here...

I'm sorry to hear about your mis-fortune, I can't imagine how bad that must be

Congratulations, and stock up on sleep. No wait, you can't do that!

Go out and have fun during the second trimester; the missus will probably be queasy and tired (possibly even narcoleptic) during the first trimester. That's the last time I played video games.

Yeah she's very much there right now, shes 11 weeks, so nearing the end of the first Trimester....it's been hard work lol

Thanks Shem, Hun, and Matty 👍

The heartbeat is a big deal. Your odds improved dramatically with that. I was under the impression that you had gotten this far without checking for a heartbeat. Congrats on getting over that hurdle.

If everything continues to go well for you, this is the last time in your life you'll ever be able to imagine it. Once you have a kid, everything will change.

Hey Neil, just seen you on Bikeradar...i'm on there too 👍

Nice one 👍 Do you have the same name on there? I guess I wasn't too hard to spot with the same avatar and almost the same username, someone had already taken my name so I had to add an underscore :indiff: Doubt my post count on there will ever match mine on GTP

Congratulations!

Now go find a place to retreat with your PS3 and cable hook up, you'll thank me later when she's yelling at you for no reason! :D

Congratulations!

Been dealing with the polycystic thing ourselves, but for our first kid, we decided to conceive and did it straight off the bat. Some couples are lucky that way, I guess. :D

Best of luck to you. ;)

Joking, joking, please don't kill me.

Anyways congrats. The little ones are awesome but sometimes they cause trouble! Congrats!

I would have like a couple months of "practice" but sadly that didn't happen.

Congrats and best of luck with the everything, Mrs. madmike! (Don't worry, it's non-alcoholic)

Word of advice - get as much done (room painting, crib purchase (and assembled!), etc.) as soon as you can as she'll likely not want to shop and pick out paint when she's 8.5 months along.

And the poo isn't so bad. As long as it isn't projectile, of course.

ooooh congrats dude, such nice news! I'll read trough here from time to time to see what's with you two... three.

Man, I gotta get going on this baby thing too.

Love it!

Thanks for all the nice comments everybody, I will be regularly updating you on our progress 👍

Neil, my name on Bikeradar is babyhead_wipeout (yeh, not the greatest of names lol)
I was on there before as Saracen fan.

Check out the "show off your latest purchase" thread, I think you may approve of some of my pre-baby buys lol

Congratulations to you both! :)

From the way you've posted on this thread I'm sure you'll be a great Dad. And don't worry too much about the material things. The most important things you can give a child are your time, and love. (Until they get to the stage of wanting the latest Gizmo, then love means diddly-squat!:) )

Enjoy every moment with your baby, before you know it they've grown up, left home, and made you a grandparent!

Congrats dude! My wife also has PCOS and a verity of other issues so i know that when we are ready it will be a challenge so i know how you feel there.

Once that little bundle of joy pops out your life will change forever. you might actually have to dare i say it. *Share* the controller! oh no! such a crazy thought i know

no no it will be the best thing you have ever done!

Haha. On two separate occasions I've had to pause the game mid race to sort something out, only to come back and find my 5 year daughter sitting in my seat and throwing the wheel from side to side with the game UN-PAUSED! What can you say when she's just laughing and saying something like "Daddy, this is your wheel isn't it?" over the sound of crashing metal and screeching tyres... :irked:

These things need bearing in mind when you commit to a child. ;)

Tore the dust jacket on your favorite book? Broke the only heirloom you have from your great-grandparents? Made a stain on the couch? Unpacked your luggage that you just carefully packed? Scribbled on the wall? Rubbed her Cheeze Doodle-stained fingers upon your car's upholstery? ...Yeah, all of those really happened. The the point it, you learn not allow is to happen again, so they don't do it again.

Material things take on a whole new meaning; you can't be fussy about everything, just the very important things which you keep absolutely out of a kid's reach. (As for the heirloom, I was moving furniture, and Bailey at least was nice enough to try to hand it back to me, dropping it about three inches from my hands. Lesson learned...punishment withheld due to daddy's stupidity). In the great scale of things, you'd go as far as to take a bullet for your kid, so sweating the small stuff is a waste of energy.

Don't worry about it growing up, being bad and/or not listening. You'll get plenty of that when they turn 2-4 years old. But enjoy the baby part, and you'll enjoy them growing up too...it will seem like a long time during those first 6 months without much quiet, sleep, or a house that doesn't smell like diapers, but those days will eventually pass, and then they literally do something new almost every day, which is really neat.

Sounds like alot of my things will be broken lol

I have a Kitten who is a absolute sod, he has already distroyed my sofa, clawed my curtains, and stained my carpets...so I guess i'm slightly prepared :dopey:

As for sharing my Controller.......hmmm....i'l cross that bridge when I come to it!

Congrats! I know it was hell for my parents to raise me, so may the force be with you.

Orr it might be just me that was giving him a hard time. :)

It was an unknown baby boom. But, congratulations on the great after sex test results! 👍

PCOS can be daunting, but as all the pink cars in my GT5 garage can show, it does not mean no kids. My 4yo took 8 years to happen. I changed jobs to get better hours for the result, our life style changed and countless visits and scans resulted in a more than healthy girl.

Good luck to you both. I hope everything goes as easy for you as it did for me.

Congrats!

I became a dad for the first time 7 months ago and can offer one bit of advice: get some sleep now!

Oh, and seriously consider Gina Ford's "Contented Baby" book. It really works!

Projectile vomiting is much more likely. And getting pee in your face if it's a boy 👍

All part of parenthood. At this moment in time I'm 36 weeks pregnant (second time I've done this). If you or your wife need any advice from a been there, done that mother's point of view, then I'm happy to help. I'm also sure that my husband will be happy to advise from a dealing with a pregnant wife/OMG *that* comes out of *there*?! point of view :D

That's a nice joking of congratulating one on his completion of romantic affairs... :D

Anyways, congratulations on having a baby Madmike after a long run and desire! Although it's not easy to bring him up along with your mom troubled with polycystic thyroid and difficulties are incidental in a role of parenting a fresh infant as a father, I'm looking forward to reading/seeing your subsequent progress as well as the growth of your baby from now on... :) 👍
