That big stupid spoiler actually works on this body style.

Did all the Japanese manufacturers get together and agree that the red pinstriping would signify performance models?

It's an odd shape in profile. Not quite a hatch, not quite a sedan/saloon. I can only resort to the term @Famine introduced me to: the shatchback.

To be fair, it's a hot hatch trend that's been around since 1976 or whenever the Mk1 Golf GTI arrived.

Looks more Hot Wheels like than anything. Well, I guess they have gone full circle with black and red. Friend of mine in college had one exactly like this:

The old WRX STI hatchback was also one of the first things that came to my mind. That's the only WRX STI I never really liked and Honda can do better than this.

I do love the back but the front seems to be slightly mismatched to it. I does look so much like a Subaru creation!

Few days later and i still can't get used to this design lol.

If you all look at the previous Type-Rs, all of them looked like they do belong on the road track or touge. Even the newest one that's already out now looks like hot hatch.

Now this one, it looks like Honda tries to advertise mugen bodykit for the new civic. It looks like a high performance car.

2017 Honda Civic Si fills the performance gap between Sport and Type R

To do this, Honda has equipped the Si with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder. The company didn't reveal output, but considering Conrad's statement, it's probably be safe to say it will make somewhere between 205 horsepower (the output of the previous Si) and 306 horsepower (the output of the previous Type R). That engine will send power through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Also part of the Si package will be active steering and dampers, plus a high-performance tire option.

Nissan finally announces the Sentra Nismo, and then Honda quickly one-ups them.

I was thinking to myself that the Honda Civic Si was going to look more impressive than the Sentra in terms of performance and it does.
