The '88 - '91 Preludes did come with a B series engine, DOHC non-VTEC, pushing around 135-140hp I believe. 2 of my friends have owned one, slightly modified. They did have seat belts for 5, but I believe the middle one was kind of a joke. You can't forget, they were the narrowest Prelude models made. The newer model Preludes claim to be 4 seaters, but in my car, the front seats touch the back, and theres only enough headroom for someone who's 5'4". Until '91, they had a small bench seat that folded down, after that they made it 2 small bucket seats and stuck a factory sub in the middle.

I'd get the '91 and down Prelude over the Integra. Better looks for those years in my opinion, much sportier looking, plus they have far more torque then the Integra. I remember reaching 200kmh on the highway with 4 people in my buddies '90 Prelude, and even with the added weight, it still pulled all the way to 200 (don't try that at home.)

Both cars look nice and I like that model prelude but I'd pick the DA integra. If you're going to modify the car the integra is probably better as its lighter I think and there are more parts for it. I know the preludes B20 is not the same as other B series engines so its hard to find parts for it.

If you're going to leave the car stock or near stock however the prelude would probably be a better bet.

Good point. I guess I should have asked how much modification would be done.
If its stickin with the simple intake, exhaust, lowered with rims, then the Prelude can give you that, and it would get my vote. If your asking for more, then it might be best to go with the Integra. Its all a matter of how much money you have and how far you want to take your ride.

If you want a nice quick vtec screamer the integra is your choice. If you want a cruizing car with some performance the prelude is best. Basicly if you want to leave the car stock buy the prelude if you want a good project car buy the integra.

MV you are very VERY WRONG. The B20 IS NOT just a crv engine. It DID come in the late 80s prelude. The K20 is a much newer engine. Look stuff up before you talk.

Never heard this ****. But I will look up to see if its true.

Daaaaam, I didnt know about that. But hey, I dont like Preludes so I dont know much about them eh... :)

Look who has the facts... ME AND NOT MV

haha. pwned. now wheres my pint?

the prelude SI is a nice car. I'd buy one if I ever had the chance but I'm a proud civic guy for the time being.

I doubt it. Being an accord motor my first guess is its to tall or there are no mounts or any number of other usual reasons some motors arent swaped into civics. I cant say I know much other then it was the usdm accord ex motor though...

tell you what would be cool though... A JDM prelude SI f22 dohc non vtec motor into a '91 accord 2 door. I've read about this swap in ht.

A solid choice but the Y8 head is not the best flowing D series head... the Z6 is slightly better. The A6 is the best but its not vtec which I know you just gotta have...

the bore and stroke are the same in the two engines, but the Y8 uses smaller combustion chambers with smaller ports. It has higher compression but the air doesnt flow into it as well so the power level is about the same.

Thats why I've said before, IMO, the best D series engine is a built A6/Y8 mini-me. p28 ZC pistons, forged eagle rods, semi race cam...

Just some friendly advice, If you ever get another D series engine, get a Y8 intake manifold from a car with an automatic stock and a 60mm integra throttle body. port match the im to the tb and you're in bussiness. I tell you this because you seem to not know as much about the D series and I thought that was a nice little nugget.

me ??? Only basic mods like CAI, headers, entire exhaust line, chip. MAYBE some head works and things like that. It will depend of what I'll want when I'll have the car.

I hear that, he's either looking up Honda engine specs 24/7, or he's a robot, created by Honda, for the sole purpose providing GTPlanet members with Honda engine specs.

Either way, glad to have ya here oh knowledgable one. :)
