Honda NSX no more... plus 5-6 pages on various industry-related topic

I think the past Magna is the Diamante here in the US.

I don't know about the new one though, the front looks too much like the US Galant. :scared:

I think Diamante is a bit up-spec from the Magna, but I can't say for sure. Same chassis and motor, different window winders and a/c?...

@~SP33~: Which one?

... Vr6? ...

niky please tell me you're not saying the 2nd gen was a "sports car"..

If you are, you're drunk

 ...can't drink, I'm diabetic... with a turbo-inline four and four wheel drive? I think it was close enough... after that, it went the way of the boulevard cruiser set... blech... :yuck:

okay, for you, I'll call it a sport compact. :dopey:

Mitsubishi Magna = Mitsubishi Diamante

The US got the Diamante in two generations, 1992-1996 and 1997-2005. For the 92-96 model (the one that everyone knows is ripped off the 89-95 BMW 5-series, but Mitsubishi refuses to admit it) the only engine we had was a 3-liter V6, sold in SOHC (175hp) and DOHC (202hp) versions. For that model, we got a station wagon from 1993 to 1995. The only drivetrain available was front-engine, front-wheel.

The second-generation Diamante went through various facelifts and, by common consensus, was dragged on about three years longer than it should've been. Finally, a merciful soul cancelled the vehicle in 2005. It used a 210hp 3.5L V6, though in 2002 a new model debuted that also used that engine, but with 205hp. Once again, we only got front-engine and front-wheel drive.

One day CarSource will tell you all this...

The most interesting part is actually that the Mitsubishi Diamante is one of three vehicles ever sold in the United States built in Australia. Oddly, the other two are American brands.

1990-1994 Mercury Capri

I think perhaps the most interesting part is that both the Mercury Capri and Pontiac GTO represent the last time each manufacturer offered a model that wasn't a twin of another product.

Right before it veered off into an argument over badge-engineering, or right after the sales numbers thing? By the way, what is the topic? Can we change the topic title to something like: "NSX no more, plus 5-6 pages on various industry-related topics"...

The Audi isnt all that good handling, especially on second rate roads. But the Beemer is he benchmark in entry level german sports sedans... Anythings possible though :)

Handling stakes :

3 series
A4
C-Class

The accord/TSX

isnt even in the same category. The accord goes against the likes of volvo s40 and peugeot 407.

Calling all NSX fans, and those that might be interested:

I found this article, and it clears up the confusion about whether or not the Honda NSX will be continued. I'm afraid to say that it won't be, but there will be a successor which is nice.

I've posted this here because I know there are many die-hard NSX fans out there, and I thought they may be interested. Now that I know the legend is over, it's made me like the car a little more too...

If you've got any other articles that are similar, or state different view points, feel free to post links for everyone to read.

PS: Sorry if this old news to some, but it is the first definative statement on the fate of the NSX that I've come across.

:)

That's sad to hear :guilty: But good news about a successor :)

Actually The Accord goes against the likes of the Subaru Liberty, and Mazda 6. The s40 and the 407 are ( in australia anyway) are priced alot higher and are aimed at different market segments then the Accord Euro.
