I got the GT Academy demo which is the GT6 demo. So far I love it except for a few problems.

1. Although the shadows have been improved 10 times over, there are still times when there are graphical glitches due to the shadows, but overall much better than GT5's blocky shadows.

2. Car sounds... MEH (Yes I know Kaz said they will be fixed but they should at least showcase the new sounds in the demo)

3. Anti-Aliasing is zero to none, the game is jagged. I'm pretty sure this is due to the PS3 limitation.

4. Still s#!%# damage, oh well it's good enough.

5. I'm not really into Japanese cars but it was good enough to showcase it I guess (I understand this entire event is being done by Nissan and PD and there was basically no choice.)

6. AI is still mindless but if its anything like GT5, the online experience will be fun with my friend (Drag racing FTW)

Now the good things:

1. The suspension system is much improved as they said (The Nissan leaf rocks like a bounce house!)

2. The games colors feel much more saturated, much better than GT5's "boring" color feel.

3. The graphics feel overall just "fixed" as if everything is improved. You need to play is and see if first hand to understand.

Overall Experience:

This is one hell of an improvement to GT5 and i'm satisfied. To anyone QQing about the fact that "OMG ITS NOT ON PS4", they did that because it has been tradition for 2 GT games on each PlayStation. Anyways you don't need to cough out 400+ dollars for a new PS4 and then 60 for GT6. Listen, we all know PD shocked us when we saw how GT5 looked and felt, just wait until what behemoth PD makes with GT7. GT6 is amazing and it's pushing the limits of the PS3, but I can't wait for the monster GT7 will be on PS4. I'm definitely getting GT6, they did what they said on the announcement and i'm satisfied.

-EDIT-

Sorry for all the commotion, I just wanted to state my opinion, and yes i'm well aware this is just a DEMO. This is not the finished product and I even stated that most cons will be fixed by the final product. I just wanted to state my opinion about the game and I will use the proper forum next time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

And once again, we don't need a new thread for every single persons opinion of the demo. Use the existing threads.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8626227#post8626227

I am beginning to fear what will happen with that once the actual game releases?

The mayhem we had in 2010 was nothing IMO

550 moderators will not be able to solve the flood of subjective and personalized opinions about everything and new thread creation every 3 minutes about same issue that was bumped to Page 2 because 30 new threads were created in 20 minutes

Indeed. The mods have their work cut out for them. However, if they put some restrictions on when new users can create threads, we could see a hefty decrease in duplicate threads and the like. Don't get me wrong, new users should be welcomed onto the site, but it's always wise to get to know the site before starting to create threads all over the place. Just an idea.

I played yesterday and was put off by the amount of Jaggies on screen! how can you say Graphics is an improvement when there are so many Jaggies???? I don't understand, can someone care to explain!! or is it something to do with my slim PS3 on 1080p?

The Jaggies are unbearable.

I/We appreciate it.

Let me put it this way. There was supposed to be a demo, but we really only got a glorified version of that for GT Academy. The "demo" isn't anywhere near the finished product, but I'm wary as to how much the gameplay can be improved from this point on if the game comes out in Nov./Dec.

A demo will not constitute what a final product will be, especially when it's in this version (1gb through the online route). Until then, we can make "real" statements or what the hell ever :(.

But, the PD team have always been strict on keeping on the highest framerate possible (which they couldn't with GT5), so it lends me to believe that the Second Coming of GT on the PS3 will not be exactly, or anything near, what we've experienced with the "demo"/GT Academy. PD had to have optimized the hell out of GT6 to be acceptable to Kaz's standards. I was underwhelmed with the "demo"/GT Academy, but at least it's something, and something that isn't representative of the COMPLETE package once GT6 releases. We have hopes that GT6 has the potential, to be what GT5 couldn't be with all of its development problems, to believe that PD will deliver an exceptional "game" to GT players once it's done and over with.

Edit! -
I noticed some improvements with this "demo" that were Under/overshadowed by its faults. It is only a demo and not a final version of the final product that will be on a Blu-ray disc and have undeniably great support after its release through updates (since some of us saw it as obligatory of PD/Kaz to produce for an incomplete/unfinished game.)

Oh, I'm still a jackhole. :P

Thanks mate, I just also wish there is some form of ACTIVE social/community interaction from the PD team starting from this demo. Ah well, will it ever be possible.

Heres a good video comparison

I think its really good so far. Only prob is I'm not the best driver and getting gold is not possible for me. :/ Ican't Gold the Last event or the GTR races.

The physics model feels like GT5 but with more body roll, it is different, but not totally revolutionary, but I am keeping in mind that this is the demo, the new engines could not be finished yet. FWD Leaf is very fun to drive, I can see FWD cars in GT6 being more of a pleasure to drive.

Its funny, when we all bought GT5 after GT4, we all noticed more colours, and saturation, same with GT6, much more colourful and realistic.

So we're not allowed to give a dishonest opinion about a game we haven't played yet?

...Because that would actually be the truth.

I can't gold hardly any of the GT academy races, they're all silver and one gold and I'm a great racer maybe I'm losing my touch.

I didn't see any jaggies lol looked real smooth graphics to me better than GT5s. I'm using a slim and 1080p LED tv.

The Control is silky smooth thanks to that Tire deal with Yokohama. I set my TCS to 0 and it's still hard to lose grip. What PD needs in the final game is instead of the constant time trials, add tournaments where we race other drivers and some Drift competitions. Make online racing relevant basically.

I expect a lot of the features you mention aren't quite yet finished, so they were left out.

Its main objective was GTA2013 anyway so...

The wait continues.

Edit: I think the people complaining about "jaggies" need to get themselves a 1080p HDTV.

I have spent about all day learning the track and stuff tho. I am a complete amataur at GT. Even tho I own all the games. I never played them with aids off. Lol. I need to tho so I can get better.

There's something about Silverstone that is hard to learn I just have no idea what it is. Maybe its some of the turns, the tight ones seem to just never end so you really have to slow down but then your going too slow and your losing time it's very frustrating.

Once you turn TCS off you just can't turn it back on because you learn to anticipate the cars next move like when it's rear slides out. I've found that I actually drive slower with aids on than I do with them off its weird but works.

The hardest part for me was learning a brand new track layout, after about 4 or 5 complete runs i was 14th in the US region though, down to the 30s already! Silverstone has a lot of chicanes and strange turns with multiple apexes and little room for wide exits, you think you have a lot of room going into a turn but the rumble strips creep up on you fast.
