Hi everybody,

I am a Diecast collector from Costa Rica, my collection's mainline is based on 1/64 scale model cars from different manufacturers. High level of quality and details have become more important as my collection grows.

Also, I love photography as a hobby and due to this I started to catalogue my collection to create artistic display pictures of it.

I use a simple compressed wood base to mount photographic backgrounds, then I add different materials, like sandpaper or surface printouts to simulate realistic flooring for the shots, as you can see in the first picture.

By playing with ilumination and camera angles, I try to create the most realistic environment to get the best of my cars.

Kindly judge my work, I'll be happy of reading your opinions and advise in order to improve my art.

Greetings from Costa Rica...

Very nice. 👍 I like the treatment you gave the '70 Daytona.

I see you have already visited the Diorama discussion in the Photography Forum; there are also many other discussions going about Models and Collecting - check the Rumble Strip.

As for feedback - not much to critique, except maybe you should watch your lighting - especially the bounce-back from your backdrops. You make the cars come to life - and I think that is what matters in the end. :)

Thank you! You're right, due to the laser's printout protective coat, I had big time trouble trying to prevent the light's bounce-back you mentioned. I've been trying some angle variations and masking the lamps or using indirect light, but still experimenting without a perfect result so far...

About the Daytona, that was just an espontaneous shot I did without previous planning, and I ended up loving the result, I think that was one in a million shot, I appreciate you particularly like this one, because that confirms I have potential inside of me, so I will keep doing my best to improve.

Thank you!
