Holy...
car-show-10.jpg

What car is/was this? I need to know. The color...t-the car...I'm in heaven, holy christ...How can you not like it...

It's called a Chevrolet 789, it's a strange custom build that is supposed to be a blend of '58 Impala centre section, '59 Chevrolet tail and '57 Bel Air front end.

Not a fan. :ill:

'Rodding is an art you develop a feel and taste for over time...I don't think it's quite hit that mark yet.

I'm surprised those are bad for you guys, I thoguht they were good.

Is this any better?

Kind of bland.

It's like "oh here's a normal hot rod on a budget, other than the name and basic shape there's nothing remotely interesting about me".

Nothing wrong with simplicity. I don't like that way too normal blue though... Should have either gone darker of lighter imo.

Looks like I can't please everybody here all the time. What I think it's good, it's bad for you guys. And I feel bad for it.

Perhaps this might do the job.

Not sure how I feel about that last one... Would help if it wasn't fisheyed and brought outwards some...

I'd daily that if the blower wasn't humongous.
P.S. I like how that guy in the bottom right creates a naturally curved corner

EDIT: Found one. Here goes nothing, since I found it decent enough.

This is styled just like the period in time I was describing in my last post, in the late 60s, when customs started deriving into what would later become stapples of the lowrider culture. This Rivi lacks, for example, a theme in its paint job, maybe cobbwebbed roses or something like that, that would have leaned it more to the lowrider side, but instead follows a classic 60s approach of a killer paint and stance, and Astro Supremes on white lines. This car is absolutely awesome.

Some of those make me want to barf.

Because you suck. Take your head off muscle cars sometimes. Most of those with the exception of the pseudo57 thing are perfect.

Lately I've become interested in rat rod pickup's....not the impractical slammed, chopped variety, but one's that could pass as daily drivers:

Change "pick ups" for "late-50s wagons", and that's been my train of thought lately 👍

Oh my...
I think I found a good lowrider. To me at least.

Totally not a lowrider. Free-form scallops are a deffinitive part of the custom movement of the late 50s and early 60s. Ask Larry Watson, arguably it's creator. The only thing this car needs to be perfect are white-line tires instead of wide whites, just like the Rivi above. But it is still absolutely, impossibly awesome.

That is no lowrider? How come I found it by searching with teh word custom lowriders? Perhaps by using the word custom along, it brought two options. :S

Cuuurse you, Google Images!

of course if you look for Custom Lowrider, you're going to get those. Try Lowrider Bomb and see what you get.

I still like it.

EDIT: Now, feel free to burn/flame me or anything. I know very well a PT Cruiser will always be a PT Loser but this...I...love this. No kidding. Kinda classic style to it. Who ever wanted to give this car a better look and classic, props to him. I'd drive.

Oh god. The only thing that might be redeeming about that is a RWD conversion and a V8 if it wants to be a hot rod but that might not even save such a turd...

Maybe then with a proper V8 and RWD conversion, I'd drive it.

I'm dead ****ing serious. Stock can bug off but a V8 on ti and properly modified? Hell yeah.
