So this showed up at the hotel I'm currently staying at in Bowling Green.

I don't. What I meant in my last sentence which probably didn't make much sense because I fast type without thinking is, just because I posted some nice hot rods now and then, doesn't mean I know a lot about them.

But you probably have gotten your answer in my second sentence. If I might go read about it, it means I don't know about them much. All I know they have existed practice by the 30's or 40's. Or maybe even in the 20's. It was like a whole new style for cars. When it happened, it's spread the world like a bang. In my theory, that is. Like, if you have built a hto rod or made a nice 40's or 30's ford look like one, I bet if you were in the high school, everyone would think you're one cool hell of a guy.
 
That's not unusual. Most of the stuff you see inside the engine bay of a modern car isn't actually the engine.
Even then, the engine seems to fill a bit more space then that. Maybe it's because the wheel wells are gone, but damn, that looks small.
 
On the other hand of course, if it's set up properly to run hard and with high compression, a small block can be sweet in a gasser because you can zing out the revs to make up for the lost cubes. SBC power-shifting @ 9,500 rpm = tits.

Screaming small blocks at that RPM is intense.

Though, you have not lived until you've heard a 477" big block Ford at 9,500rpm.

Here is a pic of my grandfather's 56 Ford with a mildly built SBC (specs unknown). He also owns a numbers-matching '62 Galaxie with a 292 in it, but I don't have any pics of that right now.

Tell your grand dad that that's a nice chop 👍
