Those all seem like pretty old pictures. Are any of those still around?
A few are still around like the SuperMustang, Fred Hurst Opel GT and Dyno Don Ford Maverick I know are around and in good condition. There could be others to that are not in best condition abandoned somewhere. Unless the person was famous it would be unlikely the car would have survived.

Not the best photo or the first time anyone has seen the Hairy Olds, but I saw it on Saturday! I didn't know it was at a museum near me, so once I saw it was there I had to go.

So that's the twin-engined, Hurst-developed Oldsmobile sedan? It does have quite a lot of decals, that stands out right away... And are those side rear-mounted 4 exhaust pipes functional? If so, god damm that is beastly.

Yep this is the car. And yes, the four exhausts in the back for the rear motor, 100% functional.

Well, I can see why they called it "Hairy"... I ask this because I saw a mention of the car in a French magazine that specializes in American cars, old and modern alike. And ironically enough, that mention appeared in a text regarding another Hurst Oldsmobile, albeit one which predated the early 1960 and 1980's official efforts and appeared after the Hairy;

I'm sure those who know their rare American cars well will recognize this; the Oldsmobile 442 "Fouranado", an Oldsmobile 442 with quite a lot of heart from the bigger Oldsmobile Toronado (if the name wasn't telling enough). In essence, It was a random brainchild of Hurst's boss George Hurst, who took most the drivetrain and part of the frame off a Toronado (including a 455 V8) and just smacked a 442 body on top of the thing. And doesn't it look minty fresh... I actually quite like it, the Toronado details suit the 442 like a glove and adding a bit more elegance to the overall design. Of coure, since it was the subject of a major resto at the hands of one Fred Maverick, I was bound to hear about it one way or another...

If anything, that car works best in the odd modifications thread. It's not terribly odd but, it's odd in a cool way.

The GT 250 had me in tears though, the details are too good.
