It's not bad. It's tolerable at the very least. Paint those wheels gray and dot some rivets all around. Uh-huh you know you'd hit that.

Somebody "Like" this post already.

Funny business aside, I've been working on a new spreadsheet for 4 days of my collection. It will no longer group purchases by year, and it will have photos to go along with short info (i.e. year of release, colour, and variation if applicable)

I think the GT40 would look better with these:

Shelby Cobra wheels look so-so on the GT40. I have the Garage GT40 and it has those wheels. I guess I'm not big on it probably it's because it's black (ooh I'm such a racist :P). Red may look nicer. Watanabe's look great on it (see Road Racers :P :P). MC5 actually look pretty damn spectacular on it.

My Lego Volkswagen 1500
I can't believe it. It is awesome!
That's the Neo I was referring to. I may get around to it, but it's not quite there for me. For $25-ish price, I need it to be close to perfect.
I'll be second in line if Shinji backs out on the 350Z. Or rather, I'll buy it off you, Shinji. :D
It's a long shot, but I may get hit by a bus before Jason fill up the box for me. It's unlikely, but it's possible.
How much fun do you have biking to stores, Jason? I just biked 8 minutes to the post office carrying a 6.5kg box in one arm wrapped around my side. Wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be.
Just see it positively. Cano slams something everytime he thinks of his Tomica 2000GT that was lost in the mail, and his whichever arm is much stronger now.

:P
I want this, but no money. :(
NICE. 👍 I don't do larger die-casts, but nice.
Looks good, but not a fan of the wheels.
Damn..... I'm the opposite. Car looks sort of yucky(I'd still like to order one), but wheels are cool!
I not only must have all of the RLC Gulf cars this year for the sheer beauty of their colors, but also because Gulf Oil started in Pittsburgh. :)
Local ties! Nice. 👍
I think the GT40 would look better with these:
Like those, too. A lot. Car's barely a "meh" for me, so I still don't own one, but them wheels are noice.

Dude! Don't hold me to that. I'd feel beyond awful if such a thing happens!

Shinji

Yo... I actually do feel that much better now. Take that, Cano!

Shiiiiiiinji!
Car's barely a "meh"

Except the Road Racers. That one has had magic done to it. I don't know why but it just looks different from other GT40 castings. It'd be awesome if I had said magic.

At least I'm not alone with the LEGO love.👍

And Andy, if I was slow enough to get hit by a bus, it's natural selection man! Don't read into that, I'm not saying people who gets hit by a bus deserved it(unless they did).

On the GT40, I don't think I mind the casting(I like my black one, too). That gloss of the paint rubs me the wrong way. Damn shame, because I'm a HUGE fan of Gulf scheme, ESPECIALLY on Ford GT & GT40s. 👍👍

^ Not really, but they are mae in sizes similar to Hot Wheels. The most commonly-sized wheels from Cars are equivalent to Size 3 HW wheels. Size 3s - to help to get an accurate sense is the same size as the rear wheels of a Bone Shaker. Some Cars got Size 2 wheels, which is the "big" wheels you see used on most sport and muscle castings (with small wheels in front and larger wheel in the back). The tiny Cars got Size 1s which are the same size as the standard HW wheels.

If you're ever unsure, just grab one card and a hot Wheels or Matchbox card and line up their wheels together to get a good sense of size comparison.

But Gulf GT40s got flat finishes..

Spray some dullcote on it and you've got a masterpiece.

First of all, you are welcome.

This reviewer clear up the mystery for us at 1:19.

I'll repeat same thing I posted on youtube: I'm not sure if "Real Riders Tires" on the packaging was a typo, or if there are Real Riders that are plastic.

I'm just glad I didn't have to open mine. I was getting there.

Exactly, I'm still not sold on the Spectraflame. I'll reserve judgement until I have those 917Ks in my hands(barring large bus).
Edit:
Oh go to hell you both. I'm still miffed about that one ):
But you did make some kid(or adult collector) somewhere happy......

*Cano slams fist on dining table*

You can't expect Spectraflame finishes to have the appeal of race cars. You just can't. You gotta like these finishes for the "ooh la la pretty colours!!!!" notion.

Also, that guy is wrong. The Hudson has rubber tires, because if the package says it's real riders, it's rubber tires, because Jason said so. Are you denying your friend?

:P

That'll cut down on Hot Wheels shipping from 'Zona to Canada this year. I mean he actually ships international!

Way to go, hoser!

It was a total scam. That explains why I won it for $11 so easily.

Way to go, hoser!

Yeah take off, eh?

edit: Finally finished up to L in the spreadsheet. Will have to begin multi-tasking between finishing the list and uploading photos by the time I reach R.

Cs and Fs are always the largest in my collection because the amass of Chevys, Ferraris, Fast Fish, Fish'd Chips and Fords I have. Ts are making a showing thanks to Toyota and S is on its way solely thanks to Shelby.

What I bought today. It just arrived in the hobby store, they got this first way ahead than the major toy stores:

I removed the silver rim paint by using a nail polish remover (w/o acetone) since the real one has black rims anyway.

I. Want. That. I. Want. That. I. Want. That.

Kyosho just re-released this set:

Hmmmm.... so far I only have the silver 430 Scuderia Spider 16M and white F40 GTE.

Nice. I woulda swapped the wheels altogether.

Here's a couple of pretty Thunderbirds to look at:

2009 Valentine's (Walmart exclusive)
1999 AMES Roadster Set

There's a Valentine's of the same year and series in black, and that one is a Target exclusive. Need to find that one.

I've left so many feedback ratings in the past year that now I can't come up with anything new to say about sellers. So I blurt completely irrelevant things instead.

Oh here's a good one. So I asked for an invoice and only then does the seller stick in a "$2 per additional car for International order" line. Granted I didn't ask before hand, I made a suggestion that he should probably have that mentioned in his listings. He said in all capitals "IT IS", and now I took a screenshot and challenged him. I don't know if it's just my bad eyesight but can you find that statement?

Maybe I have bad reading skills. Who knows. We'll see how he responds.

I've simplified my feedback quite a bit, too. Is that the same truck as last time? Looks nice.

Jarrod! Did you get the Violet yet? It. Is. SWEET. I don't want to steal your thunder, so I'll hold off on the pictures. Seriously, look for the spare tire inside(pic already taken). Do all CM's rally cars have spares built in? Who knows. I'm glad I waited for Violet. Came so close to buying other Nissans from CM's, but I stuck focused on the car I really wanted, it paid off! Here's my secret-main-top target CM's car:

CM's Toyota Supra

You can sort of see how tiny CM's are compared to Hot Wheels.

'87 Toyota Supra - CM's

I just could not find this car. Much like Violet, I could only find one as part of a set. I had nothing to lose, I asked the only seller who had one on eBay as a set of 7 or something, if he would consider selling me just the Supra. $15. I PayPal $15, here it is. I'm gonna try to buy something else from them, just for helping me out. 👍👍

Here's another car I've wanted for awhile:

ZOMBOT - Hot Ones

I have the standard one in blister, but really wanted the red line(d) one. Another one down, several more to go.

It looks fantastic. 👍
Kyosho just re-released this set:
I've been after the standard F40 & Testarossa(not in here!), but they've been very elusive for me. Deals fell thru, every frigging time.

Funny you should mention that. Look at what arrived on my doorstep not 10 minutes ago. :D

CMs Datsun Violet by VC SL/E, on Flickr

Thanks for pointing out the spare tyre, I didn't notice that at first. And congrats on the Supra. Big thumbs to seller for selling you one. 👍

That was fast. Congratulations to you on the Datsun! It is way cooler than I expected it to be. Thanks again for the heads up on the eBay listing. 👍

I almost didn't notice the spare either, and now that got me wondering about the other CM's cars "we" have. Now here's my Violet + the two spares.

Supra got one, too, but it's impossible to get the angle on it. I can only take a pic from the back, but it also has stock wheel, just like with the Datsun.

M's Datsun Violet

P.S. Hard to tell from my 🤬 poor photo, but headlight lenses are clear plastics. CM's!
