Thought I'd quickly throw a coat of primer onto the Anglia street/drag car, to help bring out any blemishes. Glad I did as the roof has some nasty pitting on the rain channels (casting fault). Also noticed a cast line near one of the headlights that I couldn't see before.

I'm fairly happy with the bonnet bulge (it was a lot bigger to begin with), it's still quite big but I feel the slope/rake of the front of it suits the curvature below it. Haven't drilled the hole for the exhaust yet (left side), but I've put in a shut line for the smaller door (other side will stay as is).

I've filled in the front bumpers number plate space but need to file it down. I'm thinking of adding a front spoiler below the chrome grill, to make it look a bit more aggressive. Also considering shaving the rear bumper back a bit so it's not so prominent.

Few pics:

[edit]

Just realised, I'm going to have to do that left side door shutline again. I accidently followed the line below the door handle instead of keeping it parallel to the bottom of original door.

That's a wild idea. Looking forward to seeing the paint. 👍
Thanks! man. 👍

You know though, paint is what usually lets my stuff down. Really I need to reread all the helpful advice all you guys share on painting, with us.

I still can't decide what colour to paint it.. In the beginning I was certain it was going to be blue, then I was thinking purple. Then last night I was convinced black should be the colour... One thing's for certain, it's having the white tick/stripe down the sides. Which got me thinking... The 'Ford Angrier' as I've now dubbed it, is starting to look a bit like this guy:

'Stripe' from 'Gremlins'
So, it has to be British Racing Green with white stripes and orange headlights, doesn't it?

I totally like where this one is going Nessy. I am rather fond of that casting and I don't think I have ever seen anyone make a custom out of it. Hope it goes well!

@Nessy Oh. I should ask this now that I have access to Milliput. Which milliput do you use? Black? I bought the terracotta because it was cheaper than the grey and the black.

I use Silver Grey and have used Superfine White. I prefer the Silver Grey though, as the superfine is harder to file, but you can achieve greater detail with the superfine (probably better for figurines and stuff). I haven't used the Black or Terracotta but I imagine they work just as well as the silver grey.

Let me know how you get on with the Terracotta please, as I may get some myself (running low on my silver grey). 👍

BTW, thanks for that tip you gave a while ago, about wrapping the wheels in masking tape to increase diameter when doing arches. Tried it on the Ford, and it works a treat. Better than the previous method I was using. 👍

What was this again, @AOS- ? The other day I was trying to remember but couldn't, and then forgot to ask you lol. so no w that teh doctor has brought it up, I might as well.

1/64 custom 3D printed parts. So far it's just 4 wheel styles, but they're good, and it's a WHOLE lot cheaper than buying a premium hot wheels just for the wheels.

That was posted here before a while ago. I pre-ordered a wheel set and they came back to me saying there were issues with manufacture and offered me a different one or a return of my money.

I did get all the money, so as far as I'm concerned they're legit.
I think the parts are injection molded by the way, not 3D printed.

It's just as he says.

When reshaping any fenders, wrap tape around the circumference of the desired wheels you're using (or at least of the desired size), install the wheels on the base, and fill in the gap between the body and wheel with your putty. Once cured, remove the wheel and the tape. Fender will be at desired size and curvature.

Hope this helps jog your memory.

I had a similar theory. Luckily, I got a soldering iron from Wal Mart today and I still have that bucket of cars with plastic bases to try it on. Will report back later when I try it myself.

It indeed does. Thanks bud 👍

Hot wheels Porsche Carrera GT

I painted over the original racing stripe on the hood to cover up the yellow. Also painted the interior white. Added some detail to the windshield and finished off with some chrome wheels.

@Apok and @R1600Turbo

Yes. I ordered two sets of those plastic injection wheels, but was withholding giving an opinion on them. I received one of the sets a couple of months ago. The quality wasn't quite there (lots of flashing and the axle holes were misaligned). There's obviously issues that need to be resolved and in fairness, plastic injection mouldings are quite difficult to master, so I'm not writing the company off just yet. Although I'm still waiting for the second set of wheels (different style) to be produced, they did actually send me a free set of the first wheel style I chose. Which was really nice of them. The rubber tyres, although they had flashing on them are pretty good indeed. Really can't fault them on those. I like that they're going to be producing metal wheels, but I'll withhold parting with any hard earned until I receive my second set of plastic wheels, before I consider purchasing any of the more expensive metal ones.

@Cano

That non exhibition table has some real cool gems on it. 👍 And I still can't get over how good @AHMEDFINK 's Beetle looks. Thing is awesome!

Anyway, little progress report on the 'Ford Angrier'.

Unfortunately things haven't gone quite to plan (they never do ). Planned to do an awesome job on the paint but where I repaired the roof pitting and sanded back the primer to repair it, I forgot to sand away all of the primer on the roof and the rest of the bodywork. I added a second coat of primer and then went straight to paint before sanding back the final layer of primer too :grumpy:. The paint was unforgiving as the step clearly shows through. I wouldn't say it completely ruins the car, but I would have been a whole lot more pleased with the finished result, had I not made that big mistake.

Another thing I failed to do, was fix that passenger side door shutline, but I'm kind of glad I didn't as I drilled the exhaust hole a little too big (was planning on lowering the shutline slightly to avoid going into the same groove when scribing). So, good job I didn't.

Although the car's painted (decided to go with blue in the end), the car itself is far from finished. Really not happy with the window color (may try and fix that), and I need to do the BMF grill again (corners are a bit sloppy). Also need to do the interior and general detailing (white tick lines and lights). Also still debating adding a chute and wheelie bar.

Anyway, enough of me waffling. Time for some pics:

The car now has a Pro street drag beard. :D

Well got that Dodge Ram I posted a while back a part and I recently decided on what I am going to do with it. Got some big plans for it! I will give you a hint on the paint job, it is something you have seen before. ;)

I love it! :D Big fan of that casting and seeing it like this makes me like it even more! I really need to learn how to do these body modifications you do.

It just posts about matchbox case openings.

Nah. He made another blog dedicated to customs, but I don't think he's been giving that any attention now that he's making moolah opening cases on youtube.
