Want a laugh, here you go. Failed attempt at prying the axle tabs apart to get the wheels out.

I had the base clamped over the edge of my workbench and was hammering a flathead screwdriver to get the tip between the tabs, so then I could just twist the screwdriver and pry apart the tabs. But of course that didn't work the way I thought it would.

And yes, I do have a rotary tool but no proper attachments for it, either because I just simply never had any at all or all of them broke or just worn out beyond use with other previous projects.

I've cut numerous tabs on one cutting disk and it's still good for many more uses. The one disk that wore out fast was when I was cutting out the bonnet to a Road Runner. I'd totally consider getting a pack of refills since it will last you for quite some time.

Funny thing is I've been intending to buy some more cutting wheels but haven't gotten around to it since it keeps slipping my mind. I guess now is as good a time as any.

Not bad, but IMO the paint reminds me of an old cast iron fence, rather then gun metal.
You need finer particles for this scale or try putting a clear gloss coat on top.

It's not texture like that at all actually. It's just not glossy is all. I will be doing some clear coats later today.

Hi again,

More progress on the Camaro. I decided to make it windowless as the originals were in terrible condition. Also fitted a roll-bar.

From the oxidisation, the paint looks lumpy. Hopefully it looks intentional!!

Used tape on the roof to hide paint rubbing away!

And a quick interior detail!

My first post is more than one year and a few month ago but I'm allways looking here for your work.
Last weekend I had time to grab my Airbrush out of a dusty corner and I began to finish an inchoately paint job.
It is a Dodge Challanger SRT. I have only finished the paint Job so far. Currently I try to find the right rims for the Challanger. Unfortunatly it is hard to find real riders here in Germany.

I have got painted the car with aqua color gold and clear coat. Next step is to paint the details. Headlights and taillights.

I'm posting this to try to help fellow customizers out as I'm not sure how many know about this. If you're looking for skinny Real Riders wheels for something such as a drag car and want something that is rather new and based on my experiences easy to find, the premium Star Wars line of cars has the Rolling Thunder casting in it which features skinny Real Riders. At least to me, this car would be easier to find than an older car with skinny wheels such as a Dragstrip Demons series car. Plus you wouldn't be hurting inside cutting up a possibly much nicer and harder to find car compared to the Rolling Thunder.

Damn, dunno if you guys remember me, but I posted a quite a bit a while back, and soon my interest in it was lacking, but I kinda got back into the hobby in the past few day, starting with a resto of a bonneville police car from the Dukes of Hazzard. May or may not post some pics later

Hey guys. Not sure if this has been brought to anyone's attention, but....
I happened across this little guy in my daughters room...

Not sure how it might fit on a HW rim, but sure does look like it would make a decent racing or drag slick.
Edit, for the record, they are Lego tire 30028

Illustrious Series. Theme: Race Cars

Almost 3 years ago I posted an "update" on the Series 5.

Absolutely zero progress was made, and they've been sitting in a bin waiting....

Now I longer care. I'll just call this done and also call this the end of that series.

In the mean time, I'll also just throw up the other car I found lying around already completed some years ago.

Stealth Project Huracan. Also discontinuing this series as well.

When I saw this Matchbox 1955 Ford F100 panel van in a dollar store, I had to bring it home and do something with it. I just wanted something simple so I took some acetone to the body to remove the tampos. If you look close you can see some faint traces of them left, but this isn't a problem for me since it gives it a bit of a secondhand purchase look. Later I applied a 1:25 scale Enco waterside decal to both doors and after those were dry, I used a one millimeter Molotow chrome paint pen to detail the body. Unfortunately I can't find any photos of an original, unmodified '55 van for reference photos to use for detailing the trim more, so this will stay temporarily finished until that day comes. As it stands now, the project would have only took a day to do, but I took a second day to make sure everything was dry.
