How do you accelerate smoothly on wreckfest multiplayer?

Accelerating in multiplayer compared to career mode is so different specially on fast cars like raiden and Hammerhead rs. Wheel slip on multiplayer makes it so hard to accelerate without veering left or right. I counter this by pumping the gas when its starting to accelerate. On YouTube videos they don't do this but somehow they accelerate smoothly. How do you guys do it?
