Yes and no. When we redid our production software I was the sole production manager sitting in with IT to determine functionality and the new look of our end product. The COO could have stepped in and countered any decision I made, but he didn't and six months after roll out congratulated me in person.The only thing though is are you in a decision making position?
Any executive on a power trip can remove my ability to work without strict oversight, but after nearly two years it has not happened.
Basically, I am allowed to have decision making powers, even though it isn't technically part of my job description.
