How in shape are you?

I'm not in shape at all. You can tell that from my profile pic even though you can't see my entire body. I'm 5'7" and weigh around 230 lbs. So I'm fairly round.

When I was younger I got into kinda bad trouble and had two days of what was called Prevent Days. Its was an all day work out from 5 am to 3 pm, non stop doing all kinds of horrible stuff. That built up a little muscle but you can only see it in my legs, I got nice definition in my calves. Right now the only thing I'm working on is my arms. More specifically my forearms, I want Pop-Eye style muscle in my forearms.

Is anyone cut? with some 6pack and ripped looking arms? I'm getting there, just wondering if i'm the only one? lmao

Like I said in my post above, I've got some pretty good muscle definition in my calves when I flex them. I'm starting to a little ripped in my forearms. I got some nice ridges on top but the inside of my arm is just solid, with a little wave because of a slight bulge near my wrist.

From the picture I posted in the music forum, you can tell that I'm not fat. I'm not even chubby. Most people assume that I'm in great shape by looking at me. I'm at a good weight for my height. Problem is, I've got very little muscle mass because I never work out. So I'm not bad to look at, but I could use some work to get muscle tone. I think quite a few people out there are in the same boat with me.

Aye, captain. Same boat.

I am 6 foot and weight in at 13 stone, around 182 pounds. 2 years ago I was 9 stone, 126 pounds at the same height.

Must. Lose. Weight.

Skinny asian who has like no outer strength by appearance, but i'm surprisingly ok for a teen whose biceps is like < 30 cm in circumference, i just measureed my bicep right now, lol

having said "asian" its not a stereotype, since its in our blood to drink tea, we tend to have a higher metabolism.

I however have quick a peaky one cause i eat a good amount and i dont gain weight.. i can still see my ribcage a bit.

I'm 136lbs, 5'9''. I can bench 170.

I'm not sure how many chinups I can do without weights, but with a backpack and a 25lb weight I can do about 13-15 depending on warmup.

My legs need serious work, though. I also have to get more cardio into my workout routine.

Anyone do jump-squats and split lunges?

They'll work your glutes like craaaazy mang.

I'm 6ft and weigh dead on 13 stone. I actually weighed 12.5 stone a year ago but since I've been going to the gym regularly I've lost the fat and gained muscle.

My legs have always been toned from when I used to play football and cycle to work everyday. I've generally been working on my upper body which is starting to get a good shape to it. I noticed my back muscles the other day are really starting to shape up.

Oh-so-true. Though I'm 1.85 @ 62KG, which is less than the minimum...

Shapewise, not too bad. 4km on a bike without gears, up a hill, every two days for work means a solid workout... Found that out last week after running 3kms straight after not doing any running for months.

4km on a bike without gears?

Must be one very big hill...

I was making a quip about a bike not having gears. Not possible.

I take it you mean a BMX?

I was making a quip about a bike not having gears. Not possible.

Oh. One gear, yes :embarrassed:

I meant the way folks commonly speak about bikes here - if it's got a single gear, it's usually called a bike which doesn't have gears (plurals in Hebrew are more pronounced).

I take it you mean a BMX?

In a way, yes. It's an old family-bike, similar to this one in basic shape. It has some sort of gear-change mechanism, but it is dysfunctional - I'm stuck with a gear that, quite frankly, it too steep for uphill riding, and too short for my usually-quick pace on even ground.

5'8", 137 pounds. Just about no upper body strength (I'm a nerd, what did you expect :D) but decent leg muscles thanks to my only personal transportation which happens to be a bicycle some 40 years old. It carries me to work and back every day, about five miles a day.

So lets see, todays workout went as such:

Started with Wide grip pulldowns:
(weight in lbs. x reps)
100x15
120x12
140x12
160x10
180x10

Bent Barbell Shrugs:
95x20
135x20
185x15
225x12
275x12
225x15

One arm shrugs:
120x10 per arm
120x10 per arm
120x10 per arm

Shoulder Shrugs, dumb bells (for this lift I do a 1,2, and hold for 3 sec, for a total of 30 reps):
120x30 per side w/ straps
120x30
120x30

Situps no rest:
Seated V Cruches 20 reps
seated ankle straight touches 20 reps
seated ankle side to side touches 20 reps.
(this concludes one set, I did a total of 5 sets)

It was a pretty good back day....

For the love of gawd, don't get me on a treadmill.....:nervous:

Forgot to mention, 5'11" 232lbs.

Haha, great thread. Well when I was competing in college for long jump, triple jump and high jump I would regularly do something like:
20 sets of stairs, 10 skipping every other step and 10 with quick feet
3x Descending ladders of 400, 300, 200, 100m with slow jog in between
strap on some 'jumpsoles' on my shoes and have at it with some plyometrics of frog leaps, box jumps, hurdles, jump roping, also play basketball and every year we had a dunk off where our teammates would rate how we dunk a lil all star thing if you will. Then in the weight room I would do a core workout of cleans 3x a week in a progressive weight increase of 160 x 10 reps, 170 x 8 reps and 180 x 6 reps and had a one lift max of 204 lbs which is great considering Im 6'4" and only 165 lbs I still hold the track record for greatest lift:weight ratio :) Instead of doing normal squats I would only go down about 2/3 of what you are supposed to do but instead 'thrust' up as if I was high jumping without my feet touching leaving the floor of course and I got to bench around 185max. Then I would get on an incline seat with a 35 lb weight and do some situps and crunchies usually 30 to 45 seconds at a time. Ahhh...the memories :) Now I just sit at work all day and race all night. Haven't touched a weight or ran since 2003 and I'm still around a buck '65 👍 I am debating on signing up for LA Fitness at work, its only $100 for the year.

1.89m @ 80 kilos at the moment. I suck at benchpress or push-ups as I struggle to get 30kg at 3 sets of 12 reps...The arms are more my part, I like to train that area more. I'm currently at 12 kg, 12 reps, 3 sets. (one arm shrug).

As for running, and cycling and stuff, that's my area. Though I still have a little overweight, I run 5 kilometres in 25 minutes, thus 5 minutes per kilometre, a little more than 10 km/h, maybe 13-15, which I consider fast since the roads aren't flat...(Norway duh!)

:D

EDIT:

Forgot to add that I can take 100 sit-ups without a rest, I consider that not too bad :)

...Damnit! I really need to work on benchpress!

How old are you? If you're still growing, weight-lifting can fuse the growth plates and prematurely stunt growth. Thus, I stay away from weights.

Improved to 7 consecutive chin-ups, 13 in anger. Skipping, though seen as less of a fitness exercise, is at over 110.

I'm 18 so I'm not really worrying about that as the period where I grew most, is probably over 👍

Here we go...

Was benching 65Kg at 6 reps for 5 sets about 2 weeks ago when my mate was back from boarding school. I was quite chuffed at that as it's only 7Kg off my body weight, which is my ultimate aim.

I'm running 8Km in 35mins on very up-and-down roads.

And I'm approaching my ideal weight of 12 stone (168lbs, 76Kg) slowly thanks to protein shakes. Though admittadley I'm using them more as a recovery drink to reduce ache the next day, and it's proving very effective.

My aims however is to start doing some sprint training as the evenings get lighter as it's my main weakness in my 7-a-side football (soccer). Probably change one of my 8km runs to a 5km and shuttle-runs session on the rugby pitch in the local park.

Don't be so sure... I'll turn 22 this summer and I've grown about a centimeter during the past year or so. :dopey:

Uh-huh. Yes, yes - I know what you mean. My grandmother never lets me scan pictures of her.
