How in shape are you?

Wushu, eh? Where did you go for that?
When I still did martial arts, one of my instructors trained in the same facility as Team Ryuku. He devised a new session for students interested in learning traditional wushu with a bit of Ryuku's acrobatic flair. The resulting course was mostly themed after Beijing's wushu movement: forms with traditional weapons, emphasizing on grace.

What an interesting thread that I hadn't stumbled upon before...

Height: 6ft
Weight: about 150-155 lbs (last weigh in was at the hospital at 145, not being sick and the doctors telling me to gain weight likely caused a gain by now)

BMI: about 20-21, so completely normal

I'd consider myself to be in decent shape, but I need improvement. I need to work on my upper-body strength, thats for certain, and maybe "bring it in" in the core. You, know, "tighten" or whatever...

Nah, just using the ol' one-liners from Knocked Up...

Still need to work on the abs, no matter what.

I dunno man you sound a bit skinny, get out there and bulk up. I am 16, 5'10" and 178lbs. I sound like I am a bit overweight but I am like the opposite.

are you kidding me? I way about 30 lbs more than you and I look almost like Rotundo i've been doing 50 sit-ups a day for the past week while doing basketball and training for soccer and rugby and i think i lost about 5 lbs..... i barely have time to do my blasted homework!

although I can lift about 175 lbs (i have a friend to talks smack all the time and when he starts on about me being "large" i pick him up and throw him over a rail.)

I play roller hockey once a week. I guess my friend has dragged me into preparing for a race called The Sea Otter classic so we've been going to this trail where it's up and up and up for 4.8 mi. I think?

The review on this trail said that either you thank your friend for taking you there or you want to kick him in the balls. I mostly want to do the latter of the two.

Anyway, yeah I've been getting into shape. I think I've roughly gone from hovering around 155 - 150 to hovering about 145 - 150... ? Don't keep too much track really.

or take him to your favorite court and teach him the fundamentals of a contact sport.

Ha, no... I actually wouldn't mind it if I didn't have to drive clear across town just to go biking with gas prices they are it's just one more headache. Odd part is I'm suppose to be the one to wip my friends into shape yet I'm the one that ends up the person doing it. :grumpy:

Working on it I suppose... I'm more about toning up than bulking up, I don't mind being tall/thin like I have been for the last few years. When I started High School I was about 5'9" and clocked in at 200 lbs. I had that down to 160 towards the end of my junior year, and before I had my surgery, I was down to about 145. So, I've been on a mission to gain a few pounds...

Is this in Ontario anywhere?

Diff topic:

How much can you guys curl?

I can clear 100lbs, possibly 110 if I'm trying fairly hard.

Pako... umm... I don't think they can grow anymore. :cough: or take Steriods? :cough: :dopey:

If I could do it without side effects.....you know, like my nuts shrinking, liver and kidney damage and then there's lactation. EEW!

Here's a whole list of side effects:
  • Acne and cysts
  • Breast growth and shrinking of testicles and in men
  • Voice deepening and growth of body hair in women
  • Heart problems, including heart attack
  • Liver disease, including cancer
  • Aggressive behavior

I'm amazing myself right now. Recently I've felt horrible and have had trouble with concentration, which led me to the realization that what I'm eating is messing with my concentration, and therefore my schoolwork. Not to mention my gut has been getting bigger.

Well one day last week I decided I'm tired of being fat, and if i'm going to keep my grades the way they are, I will have to eat some real food. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going on a diet, I'm just eating real food that my stomach can actually process. I say 'real food' because I was literally eating either spaghettios, chicken noodle soup, or tomato soup every night.

I have also started going for a jog/run every day. For now I'm only doing one lap around my block, then doing a few sprints. I'm timing myself every day as well to keep myself motivated. Even just between yesterday and today I have gone from 2.48 to 2.31.

According to other people my face is looking better and i've lost a little weight, and that's only within the first few days. I really hope to keep this going because it is really making a large difference with how I look, and how I feel.

👍 Keep it up!

Whats your measurements now? Before you had as your user title, no more though. Did you break 19?

I tried to measure my arms last night, at the thickest part of my forearm its 13 3/4 inches. The biggest part of my bicep is only 16 inches.

Well, finished arm day today. Went the heaviest I've ever gone on curls, which felt good, but any how, after today they were at 18 5/8".

Slow growth these days....

If you don't mind me asking, what was your routine when you first started to get some muscle mass up? Because sometime late '06 to early '07 I remember measuring my bicep and it was right at about 16 inches, like it is now. I've only just started working out regularly, but over the summer I did have a pretty hands on physical job, plus all the wood we've cut for winter, and my arms haven't appeared to have gotten any bigger, just a bit more defined.
