How many cars do you think GT7 will have at launch? How many in total?

But dude GTS is already GT3 model. It has 168 cars at launch, to GT3's 181. GT7 is supposed to be the GT2/GT4 of GT3 to the car count, the car quality is already enough in GTS

You misread the pertinent part of my post.

I don't know exactly how many it will have but I would prefer the GT3 model

It could be 500 amazing cars, 700 amazing cars or even 1,000+ amazing cars if PD was to really surprise us. But however many the game has, I don't want there to be an additional 400-500+ poor quality cars.

I'm not saying the same amount as GT3, just the principle of GT3; fewer dupes and inferior models.

depends if kaz chooses to bring back standard cars which will bring the total car count to 1000+ in the upcoming game..

Zero chance of that. PS2 models on PS5 would look absurd. They didn't even port the as-is PS3 premium models to PS4, they were worked on first to improve detail. There is no way they can add enough detail to the PS2 models to reach the same level, though. Those low poly, single piece models are done.

i didn't say they'll make their way there tho. they'd surely look pathetic as hell for a modern racing game.

Sport already has about 330 or something. And those will be part of GT7. GT7 has been focused since a very long time now and now more than ever before.
500 at launch is the bare minimum I want in the game. 700+ with updates. And hopefully all of them pure quality cars and not mixed with older models like GT5 and GT6 did.

Car list seems to be a selling point unlike GTSport.

Collect, tune, race and customize hundreds of cars and create your dream garage collection.*

Select from a huge variety of cars with no load times.

I never noticed before but whoever wrote some of that blurb didn't really proofread, did they?

But Gran Turismo 7 is also about more than racing. Refine and create in the evolved tuning and customization mode or improve your skills and racing strategies through Driving School

It's about more than racing, like improving your racing strategies!

If it's not about racing for what you think is about? It's even about cofee, costumization, pizza break and car encyclopedia

What you think will we have even more normal street cars and not only exclusively sports cars in GT7 unlike GT Sport? More road street cars like the traditional GT games and not only sport cars? I hope 500-600 at launch with good variety of cars of all types, nationality, genre etc.

Plus many other added via DLC's and updates so we can reach 750 cars passing GT4 with less duplicates and more proper models and better variety than GT4 in car rooster almost at GT5 levels (excluding duplicates and repeated models in GT5)

I think at least 700 cars after years of DLC and patch, maybe to 840 max max but not more than that! I hope that it will be varied as a rooster and not only huge. GT4 of it's 728 cars had 150 duplicates or very similar variations of same existing models (for example impreza wrx sti 97 and impreza wrx sti GTR 97), and that hurted the rooster to maybe 500-550 max of true different cars and rest being copies or duplicates with few differences.

I hope GT7 will reach or even beat GT4 car count by end of PS5 lifespan after tons of updates (700-800 cars is likely, maybe even 1000 but it's harder) and also have less repeating variations of same models, less duplicates and more proper cars... all with the same good ps5 quality and detail.... Yeah, it's not easy but I think PD will focus on give us much more variety as possible in content, events, cars, tracks, depth etc.

Why are you quoting a different part of the page? I was simply pointing out a mistake in the sentence I quoted. Read it again.

Just having a think.
Still seems as though PD themselves, are building cars to that six month modelling window.
The real GR86 was teased end of January, revealed beginning of April and we got the car beginning of July. Same teased-reveal time, as the real Supra Nurb24 '19 and sketch Mazda RX-V GT3.

168 cars at launch and a further 170 added over the past three years- of course we don't know if/how many cars were held back, at game launch, for DLC purposes. If the game releases October 2022, we'd probably see another 80-160 cars added to the current GT Sport tally. IF all cars from GT Sport are in GT7.
I wouldn't know if outsourced cars would be included in that car count or if outsourced car count would be outside that guestimation.

Leaves us about 50 cars short of 500 to just over 600. The DLC will be interesting. Do PD keep to the dribs and drabs of the current state with one car a year? PD made it clear we'd not see much toward the end of GT Sport. Could be the same for GT7. The launch car count could be all we get.

I don't care about the amount of cars, quality over quantity.
Watt matters to me is how many of those cars will be real and not fictional Gr.4, Gr.3, Gr.B, VGT...

From the current availabe 338 cars in GT Sport near to 100 aren't real vehicles.

I prefer 500 cars with 400 real models than 1000 with 700 Vision GT.

The positive side is that those fictional Gr cars can be used as pre-made model for Racing Modification, if the feature returns. In GT6 due to the RM being removed, the RM cars are given as separate cars.

In my opinion a heavily varied list of 400 cars is all we need, but I think we can expect at least 500 cars at launch.
Every player's needs are different to categorize it as "we". Even if players like use the same number they can use the different portion of the cars provided by the game.

Like I said if they keep the list extremely varied I don't see how most cannot be satisfied. They can make up for missing cars via DLC like they usually do as well

I would say 150 cars. It’ll be like GT3. DLC will add more cars. I don’t really mind as long as the have enough tracks, an engaging career and lose the gt3,4 class system.

I think we will have around 750 cars at launch and +-1000 through updates.
I expect 480-540 at launch and 750-800 with 3-5 years of updates (helped by the importing of GT6 models to PS5 and the outsourcing which might speed them up in terms of new cars)

What are your predictions? Are you more optimist in terms of numbers or you think the number will be much smaller? Will it have more cars than GT4 ever (maybe by 2025)? Could it have many duplicates or they should focus more on proper different models instead of 20 impreza's and 30 miata's?

I think 400-500 would be enough. I don't see the point of having more than that. What we need is diversity in cars not quantity.

Why people think thhat there can be only 1 thing that happen like there can't be diversity if it got quantity, or that there can't be quantity if it got diversity. This is similar to those who play 1 game while bashing another game that is similar, not thinking that someone can play both games.

Like if there's already 400-500 cars they should stop adding any altogether? Why there can't be both diversity and quantity? If the complaint is about the usual 'duplicates', then well in PS3 era PD mostly worked on certain cars only to be turned into Premium (like Spirit R for RX-7), the duplicates are leftovers of previous games (though uniting different region is poor choice), almost all of them are Standards, but technically for Premium parts PD doesn't go for duplicates most of the time.

300 Cars (100 Minivans, 100 Buses, 100 Minibikes) There! GTP pleased, moving on!
