Did you guys ever see that skit on SNL a while back (with Chris Farley, David Spade and Jay Mohr) called "How Much 'Ya Bench?" That's what it sounds like in here! No disrespect, though. I can't lift 100 pounds more than a few times!

height doesnt mean **** this guy in my skool benches 350 and he's about 6'5 and he cant fight for ****, some asian guy beat the **** out of 'em, and the asian guys my height

Fighting has alot to do with the mind. If you have been fighting alot all your life and then fight some one that is bigger and stronger but is a nice person who doesnt fight alot then you will probably kick him in.

Im 5 foot 7
125 lbs
bench press 118 lbs
age 16 and a month

Whats the fastest way I can put on weight?.

bench press.......i don't bench press it stunts your growth. But i left weights up to 30 lbs per arm. And leg strength 300 lbs..

Serious?????????!!! Cause Ive still got lots of growin to do.

For my size I dont know any one that is stronger than me but im still waiting for my natural strength to come as Im pretty much still just a muscular boy.

Well, I haven't been going to the gym for a while now but when I was going I was doing 3 sets of 10 reps with 150lbs (freeweight on a flat bench) and then 3 fast sets of 15 reps with 75lbs. I never did like benching that much though. My favorites were always the barbell and dumbell curls and the squats and leg presses (I have naturally very strong legs).

With dumbell curls, I would sit on an incline bench set to 45 deg. with my back against the backrest and do 4 reps of bicep curls then sit up straight and do 4 more and then stand up and do 4 all without a rest in between. Then I would do the same thing with the reverse curl and save the hammer curl for last without a rest period. I only did it with a 20 pounder, but believe me, that method grows your bi's like nothing else. They'll be screaming after two sets.

With the barbel curls I'd have 65 to 75 lbs and do 3 sets of 10 bicep curls and 3 sets of 10 reverse curls.

For squats I'll have a total of 275 and do 3 sets of 10 reps and for presses I'll do 3 sets of 10 reps of 450.

I'm 18 (soon to be 19), 5' 10" and weigh 200lbs. Man, I need to drop a few lbs. or just turn all that fat into muscle.

I prefer not to max, but rather do lots of reps in particular orders. I follow Body-for-Life, and I have for over a year.

What happened to you after you popped your bloodvessel? Is popping one life threatning? Did it hurt?

It's been a while since I posted in this thread. I don't think my numbers were correct in my first post a year or so ago.
Age: 16
Height: around 5'7 or 5'8
Weight: around 179-180

Bench: not sure, but I do 195 on my last set, so probably like 225 or 230. Our coach makes us do at least 5 reps when we max out, more if we can do it. I think most people say their max is what they can do one time.

Squat: probably around 315 or something. I do about 295 on my last set of squats.

I guess I do pretty good weight for my size, at least I can lift my own body weight.

After the doctor got the mri it showed it wasent a torn acl like he thought, but a popped blood vessel. My left knee was just swollen up and soft to the touch, when I would walk on it fast it would shake like a water balloon, it sucked to get drained but now im back to wrestling. Its a lot better to have a popped blood vessel than a torn acl. It sucked though because I couldnt wrestle at districts, so now im coaching the elementary and junior high.

hmm,

im 17, 6'3'' - 255 lbs.. And i read someone said "age 15, 6'0'' another mutant" yeah, i was the same! cept when i was 15, i was 6'1'' ;)

anyways, i dont really bench. So i can probably do 100 or so.
Maybe more, im working out more often now, so we'll see.

Back when I was working out every week I could do 170 and I was 168 lbs and 6' 1", no I weigh about 158 and can do 135 about 6-8 times, but haven't went for max. I know I can do 50 pushups no problem though.

I bench press about 70kg, which is about 145 lbs. 4 times 8 reps. I don't really want to be able to do more because bulky muscles are useless and just make you look like a meathead. I'd like to create more endurance though, being able to do it 4 times 12 reps for example.

But, bench doesnt really mean anything. Powercleans are where its at.

Currently at 335 lbs. This is my second week at that weight but hope to surpass it and move on to 340 next week. My goal is to be benching 400 lbs by next summer.

I have no idea what the maximum weight actually was, but there was one of those machines where you sort of do a bench press style action (arms go forward and around in front of you) in a sitting position in the gym downstairs. The weights go up and down via a complex pulley system behind you, presumedly to make the weights feel heavier than they are. I slowly worked up to the maximum weight it had (11 weights on the thing - didn't bother to look what they actually were), until I could do 1 rep on the maximum the machine had. I looked at it more as a game. After I had lifted the max weight it had, I figured I beat that machine, so I just gave up going to the gym after that. I'm a naturally pretty skinny guy so I thought that was a decent accomplishment. I could only do it on 4 weights initially, couldn't budge 5.
It wasn't about getting fit, it was just about beating that particular machine as a game.

Does anyone actually know the usual maximum weight those kind of machines do? It felt much more than the Marshall stacks I lug around from time to time!

I know I'm an idiot. :)

 What!? :ill: When I used to lift weights, that's how much I used to squat! I think my max was high 300's(I remember trying 425 lbs, and dropping it. :P). Oh, yeah, my bench press......... 150 lbs. That was then. I probably would struggle doing 100 lbs, today.

13 years old, weigh 195, around 5'6"?

Our workout routine is 4 sets of ten.

I put up around 155 on my 4th set of ten? Impressive to say the least.

I have a lot of bottled anger and hatred, so working out is great.

Take it out on the bar, ya know?

Oh, and I can squat over 350lbs, I lifted my dad on my back with ease. He weighs 350 and is 6'0.

I haven't benched in about a year, but last year at school I did 2 or 3 reps of 120. I weighed about 120 and was only 5'5'.
edit: i'm 16.

Once i'm back in the weight room this year and I actiually try to build some muscle I hope to do alot more.
