The time trial is so named because it takes a lot of time and is a trial for the racer, as well as, perhaps, everyone else in the house. How's yours been?

Very supportive for me, only thing she said one time is that it would be wise for me to go to bed seeing that my eyes were bloody red of staring at a crappy old monitor for six hours  :)

Besides that she interested in which position i'm at, couldn't ask for anything else to be honest :sly:

So I voted for the first option 👍

Mine often shoots me "the look" ..... and thinks all videogaming is a ridiculous waste of time.

So, no........... not supportive, which makes the concentration aspect harder!

I've had a lot of support and positive mental attitude advice, she can see clearly how much this means and is happy to let me practise when I feel frustrated at not keeping up with the improvements.

She was also very happy to come to the finals if I made it and I wanted her to come as support.

She's a diamond :D

All the best
Maz

Well I only play when the other half is in bed as it would mean hogging the TV for too long lol! I have played a couple of times though and she seemed interested for about 5 mins lol. I gave her a go on the G25 setup and it was crash, spin, crash spin some more etc etc lol

I then got this is not like a real car (the fastest car she has driven is a 1.0 Pug 206) not a RWD with no traction control lol

But then I have another partner....... who is 6 months old and goes by the name of Harry who has been waking all the time the past few nights due to him having a cold so I have had very little support from him lol

She's been great although having seen it all before she knew what to expect. I purposely didn't play during the Christmas break and I think that helped. In fact, I haven't spent half as much time on it this year as I did last so it's not really been a problem. She never shows any enthusiasm towards the game but had a really good time at the national final.

You don't happen to have a cloning machine by any chance Maz? If not, can i just borrow your better half's mental attitude...... for a transplant?

What a gem indeed mate!

She plays Forza 3 while I play Prologue or the time trial, though she hates if I ignore her for to long.

She wants me to win the prize for the Indy 500 trip baaaaad. "GO RACE!" she says when there is any free time and then she proceeds to come in and 'conversate' as I get .2 in front of my target ghost and then I spin out!!

I need to move from 30th to first over the weekend. I'm hopin' for some good mojo.

My girlfriend is really supportive.., when she's at work ;)
Kiddin.., she doesn 't mind me racing and she thinks it's cool that I'm in the top100 in The Netherlands. In fact, yesterday is was saying I would like to get a wheel in the near future, and she totally agreed  She says racing with a pad is voor noobs :D

It has been a battle to be honest, the only time i get to go on is when she goes to bed..its her ps3 and T.V..so im up unitil 3.30am ,,tired as a dog trying to stay on the tarmac.!! I became a dad yesterday so time is really limited now...got to think of a plan!!!.but my new baby girl makes Time Trial seem not as important now.

Congratulations b1landboy! I have a little girl as well. They're awesome. Yeah, all I get is about 90 minutes per night. This weekend the wife will be taking care of the girl so I can get some bonified time with GT5TT.

Your GT5TT situation sounds pretty rough. I can sympathize. Enjoy your girl, every age is cool.

Give it a little while and they play with you on it, mine have four Minis each in their favourite colours ;-)

Cheers miata--just had conformation from the boss that im allowed a 2hour stint later then unlimited time when she goes to bed..unless the baby has other ideas..

With having a spouse and all the security that it brings, only ones tied down here replying.....what's a partner...Lol....12% on here are bachelors, have some balls and come forward, admit it, it's much better not being under surveillance. And unless she's a doormat, you can do whatever you want, race whenever you want, go out on a Saturday whenever you want, etc etc.

I can only play when the better half isn`t at home(which is rare). Is getting rather annoying, but you have to take into account that they live there aswell and it`s a two way street. Can you imagine having to watch/listen to gossip girl or twilight cranked up loud from 4pm till 11pm every day. I usually get the i`m home now so turn it down and shut it off so when can spend time together line. Me watching neighbours and freaking home and away isn`t spending time together......it`s torture! Roll on GT5! i say.

Offer her the chance to get into it too by either playing or dressing up as a grid girl.

👎 She is simply not into it at all. Had a go of GT5P with my G25 once and didn`t like it much. Since she beat the crap out of me once on fight night 3 i don`t let her play with my ps3 anymore :embarrassed:

My girlfriend is not a huge fan. Sometimes she is ok with it but for the most part if I play for over an hour she starts to get annoyed and wants attention.

My girl friend would follow me online by checking the rankings page when I would play, she'd sometimes msg me and congratulate my on my new time before I'd even get a chance to tell her, lol.

Luckily we have a downstairs room for the Big Screen TV and PS3 and G25 (all bought by me). Upstairs has the 27" TV and PS2.

My current 'table' is movable without detaching the wheel and shifter from the table so putting away is a 1 minute job).

Now I would like a playseat or virtual racing chair, but that may be a harder sell; unless I can quickly put it out of the way. Any suggestions on a good, not vthe price of a used car racing seat?

Oh and as long as we also play Rockband, my partner and daughter are good with my racing! Even her daughter has tried out the g25 and figures she can learn to drive some before she actually drives for real.

My Girl Friend is/was very supportive! However now that she has been layoff she is spending more time @ home or not working at night so much, which is cutting my playing time... But she has even encourage me to buy a wheel :D I shown her a couple of rigs she is up for it! but like i said now that she is @ home all the time...I don't get the same enthusiasm.

This is pretty much how my old lady is too. When she is home she doesn't like me playing, but when she is working she likes it. Better than going to the bar every night.

I`m missing the "She lapped almost 1 second faster then me" option... seriously...

I know thats a bit poor, but I only started to play Gran Turismo because she liked it. She played every game of the series since GT1, while myself only had the "privilege" to watch my 2 older brothers playing GT3 and GT4, they said "Get a driver license first!" :D
She`s faster with almost every car except the F40 and F2007. (In GT5P of course)
