How to win GT4 Pace Car (Nissan Skyline R34 Pace Car)/"Real Circuit Tours"

Here's how to win the Nissan Skyline R34 Relatively easily.

1.) If you haven't already won Gran Turismo World championship already, follow this guy's instructions: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/596/596262p1.html (Thanks, MustangRyan!)

2.) Once that's over, take your car for an oil change, like he said. Now, give it the works in the tune shop. Also, be sure to buy Hard and Super-Hard tires for it, and a Full-Customizable Transmission, if it doesn't have it already. (I forget)

3.) Enter the Extreme Events hall with your Nissan R92CP.

4.) For Nurburging Nordschliefe, Cirque de la Sarthe, Suzuka Circuit, Twin Ring Motegi, move your Gear Ratio's auto setting to 20; For Laguna Seca, Infineon Raceway, and Tsukuba Circuit set it to 11; and for Fuji Speedway, set it to 17.

5.) Before you actually go race each race, be sure that the Toyota-7 isn't in the lineup. If it is, just exit the screen, and re-enter the race. If he's still there, just keep doing that. The Toyota-7 is just way too fast.

These are (I think) the configurations I used to race this championship. Now I got me a Nissan Pace car! Check it out!

If this didn't work for ya, please let me know. I'll figure out the best way to race (since I'm doing this from memory). Hope this works for ya!

Good to see that you want to help other members out:)&👍

However, if you refer to the "LOOK HERE BEFORE YOU ASK - Many FAQs" thread (I don't mean anything by the caps, it's just the name of the thread):

LOOK HERE BEFORE YOU ASK - Many FAQs

You will notice it has links to Prize Car lists that show how to win each car in its respective version of the game.
I guess another strategy wouldn't hurt, but I feel this is a mods decision...

Regards,
FormulaGT

EDIT: At least you searched first 👍.

Many people know already and there's not much point in a new thread but it's good your trying to help out,
Welcome to gtp :)👍

Don't worry if this thread gets locked, FERGU$ MANERGU$ has made 16 threads all off which have been locked.

A much easier way is to win the Nurb 24 hours with just about any decent LMP or touring car, then use the Formula Gran Turismo you get from that to win both the GTWC and Real Circuit Tours. No tweaking, no worries about the Toyota 7, and can be done 100% B-spec.

maybe this will be a link in the race reports section (in the game guides).
good read though

shnitzeldoodle, welcome to GTP

I think you might get a warmer response with your strategy if you had used a car and set-up that did not require "the works" as mentioned in step two.

Do you have a strategy for this race that would involve using a car without having to rely heavily on mods to win the race? If so, I'm sure you'll find many who will appreciate that kind of effort, as there appears that many of the regularly active members truly appreciate the challenge offered in GT4 when not having to use significantly better performing cars than the opposition, nor make severe modifications to a car in order to win a race. With the exceptions of situations where you purposefully are using seriously under performing cars against vastly superior cars.

Just a suggestion is all, not criticism.

I just won that Pace Car the other day, what a cool vehicle. I haven't seen many cars which allow the Displacement modification to be applied. It's also a 4WD. I haven't tried yet, but I wonder how it performs on dirt and snow? Only thing they could have improved on with this car is showing the flashing lights reflecting off the bonnet and terrain when you're using the internal view perspective while driving the car. Another cool thing would be if other cars couldn't pass you once you got in front of them because it's a Pace Car hehe!
💡

Actually, that would be fun. 2000 guaranteed A-spec points in the F1 Championship... :D

I missed this the first time I read the OP's "tips":

Are you sure you are talking about the 1970 Toyota 7? It is one of the slower LM cars in GT4 used by the AI opponents.

Of the 22 LM cars, the AI has available to randomly select from, more than half of them will all easily beat a Toyota 7. Perhaps you meant the Toyota GT-One, but then again, even it does not crack the top 5 AI LM car rankings.

For instance, on the very first race in that series, Tokyo Route 246, the GT-One only has the 10th best lap time of all 22 AI LM cars (The Toyota 7 has the 14th best lap). The GT-One's saving grace is that it can complete that race without pitting, thus on that rack at least it beats a few of the better cars which are forced to pit. The Toyota 7 also doesn't have to pit, but do to its SLOW lap times, it even loses to several cars that due have to pit, like the Sauber C9, Minolta 88C-V, R92CP, R89C, and even the XJR-9.

If you want to avoid the best performing AI LM cars, I'd probably say that you should be most concerned about the following 10 cars:

  • 2001 Audi R8
  • 1988 Jaguar XJR-9
  • 1991 Mazda 787B
  • 1989 Mercedes Sauber C 9
  • 1989 Nissan R89C
  • 1992 Nissan R92CP
  • 2004 Pescarolo PlayStation C60/Judd
  • 1992 Peugeot 905
  • 1999 Toyota GT-One (TS020)
  • 1989 Toyota Minolta 88C-V

The Toyota 7 generally finishes as lead-AI on Hong Kong in the GTWC though - and the BMW V12 LMR tends to win the AI battle at Tokyo (again in GTWC) due to its non-pittingness. Though I agree on your list with the possible addition of the Bentley in place of the TS020.

Good points, and I'd agree that both the Speed 8 and V12 LMR overall compare closely to the GT-One.

BTW: I like your term "non-pittingness". :)

Strange, whenever I raced that series the Toyota 7 was one of the easier opponents, he mostly made it only to the third place, with the Toyota C-88v or the Nissan 92 leeding the pack.:scared:

i thought the exact same as you- i've beaten the toyato 7 loads of times in other races so when i saw it in the race i thought this should be a walk over and the toyato 7 absolutly blows you away on some tracks.

I found in the touring circuits u want to try to avoid these cars:
Toyato 7
Nissan R89C
Mercedes Sauber C 9
Audi R8

They are in no particular order and these cars were just for the first couple of races in the touring circuits.

These cars always seem to be really far infront of all the others thats why i found them difficult to vs.

hope that helps.....

In this instruction (http://faqs.ign.com/articles/596/596262p1.html) is said to change oil for every new car. I`m wondering how much performance gives fresh oil? I understood that oil change is necessary only after you buy used car, and after you have driven a lot of your brand new car. How much fresh oil affects cars performance?? not to make new topic, I`ll ask here - is it necessary to buy new chassis (in factory tuning directory others) for used cars?

If you change the oil on a new car BEFORE you drive it, you will get approximately 5% extra power.

The chassis refresh seems to be most important for the used race cars, but it will help other cars as well. However, it is very expensive, so it may not be worth doing to every used car.

this is wrong becouse i already did beat the GT world championship and do you know another cars that can win it becouse it's hard to beat and i am trying to get it btw is it possible to beat w/o that nissan R92CP ?

 He enters the RCT with an overkill R92CP, then wusses out at the only possible challenge that can show up!:crazy:

Slow down, man!:scared:

Also, what's wrong?

Yes. Any of the Group C/Prototype/LMP1 cars will win it by a mile.

Can you tell me what cars can beat it becouse i don't get it what is prototype/LMP1 and group c things.

oh and can Minolta toyota beat it?

Please don't double-post. If you think of something new to add to your last post, use the Edit button.

Group C/Prototype/LMP1 is the top class at the Le Mans 24hr. That consists of these cars in GT4:
Audi R8 '01
Bentley Speed 8 '03
BMW V12 LMR '99
Jaguar XJR-9 '88
Mazda 787B '91
Nissan R390 GT1 '98
Nissan R89C '89
Nissan R92CP '92
Peugeot 905 '92
Pescarolo Courage C60/Peugeot '03
PlayStation Pescarolo C60/Judd '04
Sauber C9 '89
Toyota GT-One Race Car (TS020) '99
Toyota Minolta 88C-V '89

If you're brave or good, you can try the other top-tier Le Mans/Le Mans-type racers, but it will be more difficult:
Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK-GTR Race Car '98
Nissan GT-R Concept LM Race Car '02
Gillet Vertigo '04
BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97
Panoz Esperante GTR-1 '98
Nissan Fairlady Z Concept LM Race Car '02

Apart from the Polyphony Formula GT '04, the Minolta Toyota is the fastest car in the game, so should easily beat it.

I can't beat it with Minolta. do i need to use a setup for it?

Yea, what PF said. It sounds like you're not ready for this caliber of racing. Having the fastest car with the highest horsepower doesn't = a good driver / automatic win. Settings only help the driver do what he/she is trying to accomplish, but they won't help you win if you don't know the courses very well.

Like I said, I've won the RCT in an Oreca Viper and Pitwork Z, and these cars are way heavier than the Minolta; so theoretically the Minolta should be overkill.
