And no more patches until GT5 proper's release which could be end of 2009/2010. I would be pretty pissed at Kaz/PD and very upset.:(

*not a troll topic; just curious on gtplanet posters' thoughts

Good question. It would be nice to see a POLL people like polls.

Hmm.. Only update I would love to see is more Physics updates and Privet Patch rooms. The physics updates are highly possible, but don't think there wont be any major ones. And private rooms, well KAZ himself said it will be for full game.

I am bit disappointing with Private rooms not making, it will HUGELY improve game play hours as well competition.

So in the end.. not really pissed and not upset at all. I guess I'll just have to play what I got and wait for summer 09 or winter 09
As long they update GT-TV with cool videos as the 24 hour one. I will be coming back to GT.

Also I think many people have right to be dissapointed about no more updated, but consider that pretty much PD may be only game company to release a game such as PROLOGUE before full release. Other game companies only give a closed BETA (or open beta which is only a month or two before full release) or they give a simple demo. So i give credit for GT to give us a decent prologue game for this 5 year game in making.

I'd probably want to commit hara-kiri. Either that or be overjoyed to the point of soiling myself.

I look at it this way - if it happens it happens , if it don't it don't.
Either way , life will not end because there is no update for GT5P.
There are always other games out there to keep me amused until the full game comes out.

I will be disappointed, but at the same time it will make the full gt5 even that much more exciting if we don't get damage or private rooms in prologue. I have given prologue a rest anyway. Socom is now taken up most of my gaming time. Plus, race pro is on the way with the new fanatec wheel. I am now ready to wait for the full gt5 and play prologue just when I need a quick gt fix. I feel that prologue was kinda a let down, but at the same time it served it's purpose. Everyone got a taste of what the racing games to come should at least look and feel like.

There are just too many good games for this year.. only yesterday I play GT5P in 2 weeks!!

Yeah I agree.

If it comes great, if not owh well. Ive had 7 months play out of a demo. Most games dont give me this much pleasure and Ive had it from a demo of the game Ive been waiting for.

Ive played the GT series from the start and now being able to play online has kept me coming back again and again.

If GT5 isn't out until 2010, then there is just one important request for me.

We need more citcuits.

They have some already perfect maps on GT4, the nurburgring, Infineon, Grand Valley...So many awesome circuits...

A 5 lap race around the nurburgring would be just a fantastic spectacle for GT5p in my opinion.

Just one more track...a decent one. Not a Daytona, or a London, or an Eiger...a drivers circuit like Suzuka!

I'll be dissapointed. All GT5P NEEDS right now is private rooms, that's it. Give me that, and Prologue will last until GT5.

Though on top of that I would like to see improved tire physics (more accurate grip, and grip that actually depends on the car you are driving) and better aero (Downforce not a part of PP, and make it actually affect drag). Maybe a little bit of tweaking to menus and such; like a free run, arcade races without S3 tires, gear ratios that tell you what RPM you are running at in quick tune, being able to see your power and torque curves at all times (instead of limited to quick tune races), etc.

5 lap race around the ring

Think of everyone moaning about the dc's. 40 min race and the slow racers get lapped on the seconds lap.

A race like that would need private rooms. Leave that type of thing to the full game.

Just my 2 cent.

Jack

I would be a little dissapointed if the fall update doesn't happen. But it would'nt stop me from playing GT5 Prologue online. The game is too addictive. :)

Taku Imisaki said pricate rooms working on..And Kazunori said Better communication between players about BIG FALL UPDATE..Did they lie? Why did they lie? there is no comment.Im this SUX

totally agree. i can wait till the full game for private rooms etc, but i'm so bored of the circuits now

the nurburgring won't be seen until the full game, that's for sure. i don't know what new real life circuits are supposed
to be in GT5, and i assume pd would save those for the full game, but they could release one of their original tracks
every 3 months, that'd be cool

If the update will not come, we must eat it as it is. But physics and game engine update (especially new tyre engine forgetting the universal N1-R3 compounds and engaging real tyre types with their unique characteristics and tyre deformation), one interesting new car every two weeks and one interesting track once in two months would be nice way to shorten endless waiting for final GT5, if not crucial one for not so hardcore mass of players to not forget about GT at all and to continue massive online (very poor now) testing.

As a Gran Turismo fan, I would not be disappointed at all. I came to expect delays after Gran Turismo 3. If anything, Polyphony can only ever impress me, time and time again, its got to the point where I don't care how long it takes, I have the patience for something this good.
Anyway, there are plenty of other games I can play right now and I'd personally rather them focus on getting everything perfect than rush content out and it not be so great.

Also, this:

This game has now got into the ranks of Dawn of War, Battlefield Vietnam, Command and Conquer and Gran Turismo 4 as one of the few games I have played constantly for several months. I didn't even play pre-GT4 GT games as much, mostly because they never had online play before and I never knew many people who would race splitscreen with me often enough. The only reason GT4 lasted so long was because of the huge array of cars, tracks, events and the endurance racing.

KY said that GT5 it's coming sooner than expected, so if we havn't a big fall update I will be happy because we can expect GT5 in a earlier 2009, rumors says that we'll have it on spring 2009.

If it GT5 was out mid 2009 or sooner and there was no more updates id be fine with that... as id assume that was the reason why it came sooner than 2010.

if it was out in 2010 and no updates then yeah id be upset...

Well I guess I would have to go on living, people put too much importance on these updates. If they gave us 5 new tracks tomorrow along with private rooms & 10 new cars, there would be a thread in 2 weeks complaining about something they didnt give us. I would love to have some new tracks but I can still get what I need out of a GAME 1 to 2 hours of entertainment.:sly:

I would be pretty pissed at Kaz/PD and very upset.:(
Why?

I wouldn't care. Maybe even be happy about it, because then when GT5 finally comes out, there will be so much new things to try out and discover.

I’ve have heard the rumour to that this could be true. And it wasn’t a media rumour :sly:

Hmmm... depends how long we have to wait for the full release. I must admit, with a combination of answers from Kaz interviews and some false hopes, I expect more from Prologue and would be slightly disappointed if Prologue remained as-is should GT5 release later than mid-2009.

I hope GT5 is not being rushed... I mean, Spring 2009 sounds great but almost too soon. Do you guys think Sony would have much of an influence on PD (i.e. would PD rush / release a GT to please Sony? Would Sony even want that?) ? Unless PD have been working 24/7 like robots, I can't see how it can progress so much (assuming Prologue is a fair representation of their latest build).

I still hope and believe that PD will test online / community enhancements with Prologue - I thought that was partly the idea. I think an update to add Home integration (private rooms!) will come to Prologue. My hunch is that PD have been working on this in-house with Sony and are waiting for Home to release.

Just as I said earlier , there are games out there to keep myself amused until it is released.

To be honest here , I have not been on GT5P in probably 1-1/2 - 2 weeks , so to me ,I can wait patiently , it's no big deal.

I would like some solid stream of info about GT5 (release date, tease screenies etc), with that I wouldn't mind if we didn't get a update of GT5P this year.

Id be disappointed. The game just needs a few more things and then it'll be good to last until GT5 comes out. Those things would be a few more tracks & private rooms. Damage can wait as well as other features. The game at the moment has really died off. I havent played for about 2 weeks & others seem to be the same. GT5P needs something to kick start it again, hopefully PD give us this.

But we did get the Fall update, so there's nothing to be upset about.

I would like some solid stream of info about GT5 (release date, tease screenies etc), with that I wouldn't mind if we didn't get a update of GT5P this year.

I'm sure we don't have to wait for the game for a car list. As soon as that's confirmed I want to hear it.

Seeing as I've only had prologue for what, 2 months, no, I wouldn't be upset.
Although I have all the cars, I've only spent time in maybe 10 of them. So I still have lot's of gameplay left. :)

I'd be very disappointed because I really had been looking forward to having damage etc...The game isn't getting boring but I'd like to see new things. I don't play other games (not interested), so i'm only concentrated at GT5. If I had to wait longer than fall for an update, no problem.. But I'd like to see concrete dates. I'm getting a bit tired of all those vague guesses and promisses. At the other hand I like surprises.. But.. it's often more disappointing than surprising.

Skid marks - these would be nice in an update so when you are battleing it out you can see how much action the track has seen.
