How would you like the dealerships to be implemented in GT6?

Over the course of GT, a few different approaches to the way dealerships are implemented in game have appeared. For example in GT4, there were a couple of UCDs, then there were dealerships inside each country. In GT5 there was the UCD, the New Car Dealership - with the grid view inside, and the online dealership.

For GT6 I would like there to be a UCD, a premium lot - grid view of dealers, and a standard lot - grid view of dealers. This way it makes it easier to buy the cars that the player desires.

What about everyone else? What layout would you like to see?

I think that even if a car is prenium if it is older than 2009 let's at, it should appear in the used car dealer. I also think we should be able to buy used parts.

In an idea world nearly every car available to buy at any time, the only exception prize cars (Which have to be new cars, no point having a GT5 car unbuyable).

In reality though PD are never going to do that so a simple new and used dealership will be fine, New dealership with cars 2008 onwards, used dealership everything else but it has to contain hundreds of common cars all the time, not just 30 like GT5.

Maybe a restored section as well where old cars are presented in 'as new' fashion. New motor/no miles etc.

One of the most annoying things to me with car dealerships is that when you buy a car you have to wait for the car to pull up and then you go out of the dealership. It is really annoying when your intent is to buy more than one car but are forced to navigate back to where you just were every time. Same issue on Forza but a bit worse on GT due to the extra wait time while it pulls the car up and asks you if you want to get in it.

Absolutely, that needs to go. Just ask me if I want to get in it with a quick dialogue and if not put it my garage. I've just seen in the showroom and will see it on the track, I don't need a pointless animation of it driving out of the darkness.

the ability to purchase multiple cars at once will be greatly appreciated maybe bring back gt2 style dealership where used cars where sold by there manufacture

At the very least don't kick us out of the dealership when you buy one car, did PD really not think maybe we'll want to buy another one. Having to re-open the dealership and wait for it to load is just wasted time. It may only be a few seconds but they add up with 1000 cars to buy.

i want to be able to buy every car new. i just want to start at 0km with every car to see how many km i drove with each car :)

I want a dealership system like Euro Truck Simulator 2. Basically there's a physical dealer and and online dealer. The physical dealer lets you walk into a showroom and see all the different truck models for sale, like a proper dealership. Then the online dealership just gives you a list of trucks and you can just buy it like you're on Amazon. And yes, you can buy multiple trucks from both dealers without being kicked out or going through some delivery screen.

This is actually already being discussed in a thread on the main page but I'll grab my post from there.

How about one big dealership with every car in the game listed under their respective brands. Then when you click on the car you would have options to buy new (provided it's a recent car), collector, or used. There won't always be one to buy in the collector and used categories but I like the reserve/feeler idea for them. Then when one pops up you can either buy outright or put a down payment to reserve it for when you have the cash.

It would function like the three dealerships now in that you can buy cars brand new any time (again as long as they're within the last 5 years or so), collector (0 miles and could include historic cars at a premium rate), or used. The benefit being that in most cases it wouldn't be tough to pick up at the very least a high mile version.

Any premium car that is old enough to not be available as "new" would always have a collector model available so we can still buy them anytime like we can now. They can have really high prices to keep them exclusive like the historic racing cars/Miura etc.

But I really think it'd be much simpler in one dealership. They could limit the number of feelers you could have out based on your level/game progress.

Another thing that would be great if added is when you're looking at the eligible cars for an event you could hit a dealership button and it would take you to the dealer with a filter showing all cars currently available that qualify. :)

maybe a used car dealer should be integrated in the online network. used cars from real players. what about that?

Already a thread like this :P (I've had many of my "unique threads" moved so move this one to the appropriate one?

This idea is really good. I've seen it suggested on here quite a lot.

edit- sorry for double posting, wasn't thinking about it.

Somewhere in the GT Life/Mode menu, there'd be an icon called "Dealerships" and when you click on it, you're taken to a menu with a globe background showing the continents and countries all outlined. The countries that contain dealerships would be colored red and the ones that don't blue, and you could click on the country and it'd then take you to menu that looks like FM4's dealership displaying the manufactures of the selected country. That's how it would look, and that's all I really car about. Clicking "dealership" and taken to a list of manufactures is a little bland to me.

Then of course, just a used car dealer.

I would like to see a dealership that has some interaction, like TDU's. You could go around and check out the new cars and enter the configurator where you could pick and choose your options. You could also physically walk around the car, which would be helpful for deciding which color to choose. Out front there could be an used car section with a combination of used versions of the newer cars in the showroom, but also older vehicles from the manufacturerer. Most of the used cars would be stock, but there would occasionally be a modified car in the mix. Another nice feature would be a wing of the dealership that would sell manufacturer performance parts (TRD for Toyota, etc.) and also do oil changes, body kit installation and car washes, but for a higher price than GT Auto.

I think this will be cool

the physical dealer for the premiums

and the online dealership for standards

Go back to GT2, new and used cars will be with their respective manufactures, rare cars will still show up randomly like they do now, if I need a particular car ie, Miata go to the Mazda dealership and look for it. My problem with the current system is if your looking for a common car (ie, standard car) you will have to cycle through the UCD several times, for rare cars this is fine, common cars not so good.

As long as I can buy any car at any time (provided I have the funds), I'll be happy.

The amount of cars I haven't even drove once in GT5 is depressing. The UCD is like some kind of Japanese torture device. Still haven't got to drive the Mclaren F1 GTR. Do I have the money? Of course. So why don't I have it? I have to wait for it to come into the rotation.

Stupid, asinine system.

Auction house for premium and standard. Dealership and OCD and a paint setup Iike forza 2 3 and 4 were you can buy and create your own look.

This plus the GT4 model.

I just loved how GT4 handled dealerships. I loved how it kept the traditional dealership model where you had New Cars, Special Models, Tuning Shop and One-Make Races. You also had a used car dealership for 70s or older cars, one for 80s and one for 90s, cool. And you had Tuner Village which was a really cool addition where you could buy a complete car or tunning parts for your car, with the possibility of buying the fabled Stage 5 Turbocharger that could only be bought there because it was to ridiculous for the manufacturer to sell (I think :dopey:)

Oh...dreams. Our favorite thing to do while waiting for the next GT and the first thing that well forget about when the upcoming game gets eventually released.

I would really like the see an OCD like that in GT6, give players the ability to buy a car, design it into a race car with its on livery and everything, then give them the capability to make credits off of it in the OCD. And let them save livery settings so they can make more for the players. PD, please do this.

GT2 style (ala country based dealers and used cars being sold by manufacturer)for me but with more cars in there at a time, and I like whoever said having some 0/0 cars once in a while randomly showing up.

What about this: there should be more types of UCD like street cars, sport cars, race cars... Also, you should be able to buy a car that is already tuned. In real life you can buy a used car that is tuned too so why not to have it in GT6.
