How's school?

School isn't that big of an issue for me (though I may say differently if you ask me during some of the more hectic weeks). Don't have too much of a problem with grades except for maths, but I'll get to that later.
Studying I find easy if I can get to it. I tend to procrastinate too much. Guess that's what happens when I have a messy desk with the PC right next to me.

Biggest problems I've had this school year were with physics and maths though. I'm always so uncertain of my knowledge. I understand the theory and can solve most problems, but I just make so many silly mistakes which I can't seem to get rid of.
It makes me really nervous when waiting for the teachers to return the tests. I don't like it and it makes me a nervous wreck at times. And I have a maths test on Monday. :scared:

The teachers are mostly okay. Our slovenian (where we analyse books and things like that) loves to go on rants all the time or tells us silly stories. He also likes to troll us from time to time when we write his explanations.

''Then Werther challenged Albert to a duel. Albert knowing that Werther was much better at shooting than him bent Werthers gun. On the day of the duel Werther shot the gun and the bullet went in a circle and shot him in the back.''

By this point us students were looking at each other in a confused manner.

''Nah, I just made that up actually, I just don't like the girls' notes being so neat, so now they have to write it again.''

Genious.

Another thing he likes to do is play games on his iPad while grading someone. He asks the student a question with a long answer and doesn't even pay attention to what he answers. (Though this happens rarely and I seem to have more luck getting a grade when he's ticked off about something. Which is not good).

Our Geography teacher is the worst though. She gave grades to three students and even though they were all vastly different in knowledge they all got the same grade. Which wasn't very good by the way.

I'm 16 by the way, figure out what school that is in your education system.
Here it's 2nd year of high school.

Okay I guess. I've got straight A's except for in Honors Bio, which I'm struggling in with a C. My Videography teacher (who was a long-time faculty member and an awesome dude) resigned over some serious allegations, and now the one class I really enjoyed and had fun with is down the pooper. I'm really into film, and because of his leaving, the class (along with our school TV network club I'm a part of) are struggling to regain our footing. On the bright side I'm going to a Sweet Sixteen party tomorrow, and I'm joining my friends band as a rythm guitarist. I'm not very good as I've only been playing for a year now.

EDIT: 10th grade

Dear god my history teacher is obsessed with college (as a junior in hs)

No assignments in his class are worth less than 100 points-he has "quickwrites" every day then end up being 1-1+1/2 pages, gives massive group projects (900-1000 points) and has 10-15 page lectures that we have to practically memorize for his 3-400 point tests D:
Last year like 50 parents talked to him because he was giving too much work
And to put it in perspective, i had a 50% in the class because i only did 1/3rd of the summer work and like 1/5th of the first 20-odd quickwrites which were 300 points, got an 87 on a group project and shot up to a 70 0_0

But my physics teacher goes on random rants a lot-spent an entire class talking about Michelle Bachman, rofl

I'm having a fun time reading this thread because ten years ago I was in high school playing the crap out of GT3 and HATING school for many of the same reasons. Now I'm a teacher and I love teaching.

And to Gazumagi, don't fret about the 1000 point weight of the assignments. If he made the "quickwrites" worth 1 point each, the group projects 9-10 points each, and page lectures 3-4 points each; it would average out to being exactly the same letter grade. But you're up to physics, so you should know this by now...:dunce:

10th grade it's pretty good, I have a bunch of the best teacher except one. My spanish teacher is horrible shes such a hypocrite it's not even funny.

Currently, my favorite subject is science. I won an award last year for the entire school, and so far have perfect scores this entire year.

English is boring, though I guess that's the point of English. Our teacher told us we would write mostly fictional essays, yet we haven't written one so far.

Math is pretty good. Mostly because I can work with numbers pretty well.

For some reason I have a problem with turning stuff in to my History teacher. I don't really know why, I just do...

Ahhh....the joys of school...

I am in 8th grade and I have mostly A's, and some B's, but apparently that isn't enough for my mom....ugh..:indiff:

But there's always the girls!! :sly:

But there's always the girls!! :sly:

You're saying your school isn't completely occupied by "girls" who spend all day talking about how ridiculously awesome the "Twilight" series is?*

* - Might not be entirely true, but I can't say I talk to dem chicks too often.

I'm currently in my first year of high school, and everything feels in alphabetical order and is going fine for me. I have been getting good marks, especially in my two strong subjects, science and math. And I should be doing well in math, I had to pass an entrance exam to get into the honors class. I really hate getting up early, but I'm fine once I'm there. Been doing well on my math tests, typically getting over 80%, but they do dip and go back up again a lot. On my most recent test, I got a 79 or 80-ish, lower then before. I think I got closer to 87 the last time.

Overall, I'm fine.

School is causing me to be busy right now. I have a class at 3 and another at 4:30, after that it's back to practising me Thriller dance routine.

Ah we don't have science in HS It's divided to chemistry phusics byology I thiink it's makes it harder to us

We have a basic Geophysical science class for freshmen, and then split classes for bio, physics, chem etc.

Boring! My German teacher is rude to us, you ask him one of the most simplest questions and he tells you to shut up. English is just a load of rubbish. R.Es cool though, teacher always gives us a laugh. Science we're banned from practicals after a tap explosion caused by someone in my class. Maths my teacher just confuses me, and everyone else. Chatting to my friends is something I look forward to though.
Everything makes sense now.

I begin my final year (12) of schooling at the end of January. Its going to be a fun yet stressful year.

Im 16 and I go to an aviation orientated school with more guys than girls, all the guys have made the last few years enjoyable, this year will be memorable.
Just gotta keep what gir.. erhemm, distractions we do have to a minimum.

I'll get my license this year too, going to be great!

Oh. Is this in the US? Cause I live in Canada.

In BC high school's it's science to grade 10 and then split to chemistry, physics and biology for grades 11 and 12.

Also middle schools are much more common in the states so high school is generally only 4 years so it can vary quite a bit.

College actually, during IT100 class, almost everybody was playing tetris on facebook :scared:

I sat all the way at the back, not paying attention, struggling to stay awake until the end of the class at least :D
