Tonight on Top Gear: jaydoc gives out some candy...
Roy has an accident...
Derp wears a safety vest...
and Randy makes dirty faces at a Scion...
Hello and a Welcome to a Top Gear Special.
Tonight, we see who can buy the best 4 door car for under $16,500. Using various tests and scientific experiments that include maths, we find out which is best.
Jaydoc, as always, eager to start shows up first, and it looks like he brought a pixelated Mazda2. He must feel lucky.
Derp shows up next, and it looks as if he's put some thought into this, with his blue Nissan March. He's fitted yellow spoked wheels to it, I think he thinks it's a race car.
Next to arrive is Roy, and he seems to have purchased a color shifting toaster, err, I mean Toyota bB. Bold choice.
Last to arrive was Randy, and we really can't tell what he's driving, because it's painted Orange Chrome and looking at it burns our retinas.
Ah, the first challenge has arrived. Jay Kay, from Jamiroquai,
(this bloke) set a time of 1:45.830. You'll get 10 points for every second you can get around the top gear test track faster than his time, and lose a point for every second slower.
First up is Roy, setting an impressive time of 1:44.6, only getting a little off track in the second to last corner. Not bad for a toaster, err Toyota bB.
Derp runs next and makes an impressive go, keeps it on the track and manages a1:42.191. Those yellow wheels must be adding to the horsepowers.
Randy runs next, and his car does some things we think are witchcraft, and gets a 1:41.925 even considering a major off course in the second to last turn and through Gambon. We are going to need to resod.
But not yet, the king of off road is up next, jaydoc. Impressed we all were to see him keep it in the lines, and on course, up until, you guessed it, second to last turn, killing what was left of the grass. He did manage a 1:41.960.
That gives 39 points to jaydoc and Randy, 36 Points to Derp, and 12 points to Roy.
For the next challenge, since these turtles can't stay out of the grass, let's make it a little more easy. A good old fashion drag race. Heading out to the end of the runway and lining up was easy enough, let's see what they can do.
The cars launched from the line, and jaydoc and randy pulled away! Derp stayed close by, but unfortunately Roy was blinded by Randy's car and mis shifted.
So 100 pts to Randy, 90 to jaydoc, 80 to Derp and 70 to Roy.
Since they were on the track already, they divised another race. 0 to 75 to 0, the shortest distance wins. And wouldn't you know it, the results were the same. 100 to randy, 90 to jaydoc, 80 to Derp, and poor Roy with another 70.
Another challenge, whoever has the most purple car wins. Roy! No that's not it...
A 5 lap "dirty race" on the top gear track, heavy damage, strong penalty, false start check. Immediately off the line jaydoc and Derp start trading paint, and before turn 1 Derp has spun and both have damage.
But, overall, we find out that even a dirty race is pretty clean (mostly) when turtles are running, and the results, jaydoc 100, randy 90, Derp 80 and Roy, yep, 70.
Let's head back to the studio!
Ok, so given the 16500 budget, we will now get .1 pt per 1 credit under budget. Jaydoc starts us off, he spent 14500, and grabs 200 pts, not bad! Randy us next with a budget busting 16300, leaving him with only 20 pts, someone's got a frowny face... Derp, wow, he spent only 10950 on his March, good deal, walking away with 555 pts! And lastly, is Roy. How much did that Xb set you back? What, only 15780, that's not too bad... So 72 pts for Roy.
After the races, since an affordable car is typically a first car, each of the racers had to sell their car for the final challenge. Randy, with the newest car, glowing like the sun, sold for 4890, netting him 489 pts. Roy's Scion was next to sell, at an impressive 4734, so 473 pts to Roy. Jaydoc sold his ghostly Mazda for 4350, getting 435pts. And Derp got 3285 for his March, I think the yellow wheels hindered his sale potential...
So that concludes our tests, bringing us to the best affordable 4 door car in GT5. It may not be the fastest, or have the best brakes, or best colored wheels, but it is cheap, and we like cheap.
Some say that "all your derps belong to him",
and that the United States Government, in America, paid
him to spellcheck the Affordable Care Act. All we know, is that he's not the Stig, but the Stigs Canadian Cousin!
Congrats BionicDerp in your Nissan March!
Hope you all enjoyed this post!
Please don't get offended by my inner Clarkson, I personally like the Toyota bB
