yes certainly since polyphony digital never published an update after the 22nd of December
The very first update it ever pushed out for anything public - GT5 Prologue v1.01 - came out on December 27th, 2007.

They also had a whole-ass game launch after December 22nd. It was called "Gran Turismo", and it launched on December 23rd, 1997. Gran Turismo 4 also made a debut on December 28th, 2004.

I'm still seeing wrapped box....
Are you looking in the right place this time? It's on the game's very first screen when it boots up, where you can select from World Map or Music Rally, at the bottom. It's also in the news overview of the article you can pick there.

However it has switched out twice now.

Not interested. Another heavy car (over 2200 kilograms) that has a corner behaviour like a bunch of stones.
Heavy weight category can be fun
BTRC and similar would be interesting.....

I'm only talking about GT Sport and GT7 in update, and no new game !! Sorry for not specifying that !!

PD is lost in the sauce.

Where is the i30 N? i20 N? Elantra N? Veloster N? Kona N? Hyundai TCR cars?

No, we get another EV.

At least it's proof the licence is still being used and you may well get those.

Plus this one doesn't appear to be your typical EV.

"Why is Hyundai promoting its range in Gran Turismo 7 with its current most-marketable vehicle rather than [X], [Y], or [Z]?"

Sad Wake Up GIF by Nickelodeon

(no mention of the fact that this is the only car we know of in the next update, and that any of the probable others could also be Hyundai models)

There's now a press release - I wonder if this was always coming today or if the leak forced their hand.

Also the update is now confirmed for January.

Kaz mentioned Pikes Peak. Not that means anything but..

I already know what to do. Reach out to a local dealership that has a N racing livery on their promo Ioniq and remake it digitally, to promote them in the game as well as promote myself as a cheap livery maker irl. Already got a deal with a local(not local to me tho) Porsche dealership to make liveries for customers of theirs that want it. :D

I'd say it very much does, if the car is coming "after the next update" and it's confirmed for January.
Well that's a bummer. The last update felt a bit like they held back for a bigger xmas update.

We did get the pro update though and as a VR player who just got a pro thanks to the review from a certain site owner I must say it's FANTASTIC.

Please tell me this is unrelated to a December Christmas update. If an electric Hyundai is what we're getting in lieu of (or for) that, I can very much do without that lump of coal in my stocking.

Seems like there won’t be a December update.

So yeah. Unrelated.

Hyundai is most probably trying to promote the Ioniq N as it's one of the few sporty EVs that seems to have the motoring press excited.
Plus, I think they're just attempting to shift as much of their EV stock as possible. From the people I have spoken to, the majority regret getting EVs. I don't think the whole going electric thing has fully taken off as many manufacturers thought it would. The vast majority of cars on the road are still petrol, diesel or hybrids.

"The majority regret getting EVs"
I'm loving my little Mii electric, for the record. (Caveat: As a second car. Another: Instead of getting cold on a motorbike.) Range issues are a real and present threat at all times if you actually want to get places, but I do 40 miles a day, so it's fine.

Anyway, I was thinking about the 5N last week, wondering if they would bring it to the game, as it is indeed their most interesting model.

The i30 and i20 N variants are also hugely welcome in my eyes. Hyundai still cut a lot of corners, cost-wise, but the engineering of their N cars is a real return to the spirit of hot hatches of yore. They are silly little things, in the best possible way.

The Ioniq 5N is like a thug in a suit, and the artificial engine sounds are a bit naff, but the simulated gear changes are a stroke of genius - I hope they do that in the game, even though it'll be slower than it otherwise could be.

So the prize distribution is on the Tuesday (if you watch the streams on sat and sun. Does that mean we’ll get the Hyundai then, with those that didn’t watch having to wait until January?
