Recently my ps3 went dead and I lost everything on my gt5 save....lvl 30 aspec....lvl40bspec, countless cars and rears, all gear, almost all paints, mattes, chromes, all x1 colors...you name it. I was an gt5 king with alot of freinds online too. And then it happened. Bam...lost it all...i thought my gaming life was done.

I tried trying something knew, so since I had an xbox I brought forza 4 collectors edition. The cars was nice and the racing was intense. Then I fell out of love with it within a month. When I came home from work id put my kids down and hope on gt5 online and chill with freinds, racing ss7 for a night cruiz or just tuning trannys for drag racing...everyday rutine. I recently find myself not hoping on the new forza like that and havent for the past 3 days. the online community is terrible, I tryed 6 gear tranny drag tuning to drag but everybody uses like 3or 4 gears and blows u out, the feel of the cars are fake, graphics are below ave, and so on....the onlything forza is good for and beats gt at is compatition class racing only. In gt you can pick a car and blow a race away, in forza4 you pick by class and will constanly be looking over your shoulders till finesh.

I went on youtube and seen you guys having so much fun doing what I like, the drag racing had me craving, tranny tuned gears looked smooth.lol....Im going to buy another used ps3, and im going home to gt5, starting from scratch and I dont care, just to see you guys online racing will feel at home again.

Was wondering if anyone can get me up to date on what I missed out on? Last time I checked I was just collecting the new jeff gordon gear....any new cars from the updates....I heard there was a new x1 and other cars, like somthing about the remade fordgt?

Take my word guys the new forza4 doesnt compare.

Haha I think we're all raving lunatics for GT5 but thanks for making us all feel normal with you.

Sorry about your save. And only a GT5 raving lunatic would say Forza 4 doesn't compare.

...but Forza 4 doesn't compare ;)

👍 For me GT5 and GTP are more a way of life than a video game. Friends congregating in a place where they can discuss and do their favorite thing, driving cars. Lots of cars. And occasionally a race breaks out too.

:gtpflag:

Thanks for the support guys, spec2 will be knew to me so I got some catching up to do.

To the op noisturismo....I understand that its a game to you but its more than a game to me...it relaxs me and lets me get away after work everyday, making sure the kids are situated with various things..homework, etc. nothing like sitting back after the stampede dust is settled, tweaking gears with a freind online for an hr or so, or doing a 12 man lmp race at night.

Gt5 has gotting me deeply into cars in real life...ill see a gto 5.7, acr, r8, or a matte colored car on the streets in real life and just go crazy. Yesterday i took a pic of a parked gtr with my phone in dc georgtown while on the job. I seen an enzo 2 months ago in maryland. I went nuts...more then just a game to me man.

Spec II. We're playing a whole different game now. Come back and enjoy.

THIS.

Plus, GT is kinda a little bit part of my life... I've made friends because of GT, had nice moments with these friends, and some of these friendships still go on, and they are now bigger then the GT World itself. And yeah, for those who work a lot and have their families like you and me, GT is an awesome therapy... makes you feel relaxed, and forget the problems that everyday life has.

Yeah, may look silly, but it is important.

Welcome back! Get Spec2 asap!

Yes for me too, but I'm not really addicted to it like your drug example in the title.

I agree with you fellas. It is a great way to relax and blow off steam while still allowing you to feed the compeitive racing spirit and enthusiasm us car guys enjoy. It may not be perfectly true to life in all aspects but with the ability to tune in the gt5 world and race with friends, true to life is just the small details. I drag raced at a hobby level and now am into autocross with the hope of moving toward road course. Let me say that gt5 is a very inexpensive way to experince the feel and sense of racing. Ive spent thousands of dollars on my present car and previous cars just to get entry into the racing arena, and that still didnt account for entry costs. Example: my car is a 2001 Camaro Z28 with about $6,000 worth of upgrades. I paid $11000 for it in '07 with most of the work already done to it. Drag racing costs $25 for a test tune night at my local drag strip, a whole friday evening and the high risks and expense of the car getting broken. Autocross is about $35-$45 and runs maybe 1-2 times a month in my area and venue is about 1 hr and half away plus peemature tire wear and the committment of your whole saturday or sunday. Lastly is a trip to a road course. Entry costs anywhere between $120-$250 for 4 20 min track sessions at the closest course to me thats 2hrs away. Then theres tire wear brake wear and ultimately the risk of damage if an accident occurs. And again the whole day commitment. Point is that most of us guys in the real world with families barely have the time or more so the money to support racing as a hobby. Then to go to a competetive level of racing, as in racing directly against other cars, the costs grow exponentially. Again, this is where gt5 comes in. It fills that want, just enough, to race and compete at our convenience and on our time, in between the chaos of family and life. A cheap way to experience racing. This is what gt5 is for me and im sure for many others.

Yes. Think I am kind of addicted to gt5. Apr till now, I probably can count with 2 hands how often I did not log on to gt5.
Just completed Suzuka 1000km 6 hrs+ of driving with gt500 car between yesterday and today. When I drove my real life car, I kind of got disorientated.
Amazing game.

Yeah man i know what you mean, I lost loyal freinds that I made on the first day gt5 came out. Met about 10 people that day which is priceless from gt5 first day drop . Lets you know your one of the guys and not some newbie. I would logon and have messeges from them asking were was i and would i be avail to race in a private room with the guys, or would i be avail to tweak a faster tranny to tryout for a drag team. Makes you feel wanted i guess...lol. You may have heard of team wolfpack drag team. Their popular, i had to beat one of the to get in and my loyal freind who was on their team set me up a few days to tryout with the team in a privet room at night but i never made it. Ps3 went out. I was getting close to beating my freind too and he said i was ready to tryout with the team. Get sick about it

👍 I may not be playing GT right now but by god I'll be back in a few week as the pattern repeats itself over and over.

GT5 really is something. I waited years for its release. I have been playing it for almost a year without ever thinking about stopping. I probably play it 3 times a week and still only have a quarter of the cars in the game.

GT5 has a certain magic about it.

Hay analog what do you mean? When i say put my kids down it mean , doing various activities, with them before putting them down for bed and before playing gt. Did you misunderstand?

Yep... first of all, there's something I call "GT-feeling"... the atmosphere, even if somewhat different from old GT's (cmon! where's my garage and the nice music it always had!) it still has that little details that remember you that you're playing a GT game and make you feel so comfortable with it.

Then, there's the magic, the same magic of having a son that is brilliant in some areas but doesn't do very well in some others, and then you wait every single patch, with hope that they fix some more little details to make it better, and better... I think GT5 born as a problematic teenager, with some really good points but with a lot of questions and things to solve. After spec2, its more like a young adult, still carry some problems from teenage but its much more grown up regarding some important stuff.

He was joking like you PUT your kids down like a vet would do to an animal.

Nothing is more true than that. :sly:

No matter what, I think GT5 will be the game I play the most until GT6. Unless GTA comes out before then, it won't change. I've made it over 9,000 miles with none in B-Spec and I'm 99% sure that most of all of that comes from practice runs.

Really? It feels like the same game with a few cosmetic changes to me.
Not to me and him.

Can anyone make a breif list of changes such as track s, new cars, stander d car upgrades etc....thanks

I wouldn't even know where to find that if it weren't posted two weeks ago and if I didn't do a search (the search does no good because you have to KNOW what you're looking for exactly). Apparently, it should be really easy for us to find that. Hope it helps.

It's not a whole different game, it's the SAME game. Just a little better. :)
👍 that's kinda what he means. Except GT5 feels a lot more playable as a game now (to me).

I gotta agree here.
I don't use the endurance saves, I don't use the interior view, I don't care about the new cars, the spec sheets are nice, but not having them never bothered me... Honestly, I don't think anything about Spec 2 targeted me at all. Actually, I can no longer use created tracks in splitscreen anymore, that's the biggest change, and it sucks.

But for some reason, Spec 2 brought me back. I put another massive amount of hours into the game. Who knows why...

to Gone n 60sec, have you searched 'PS3 reball' on ebay?

might be worth a look. Cheaper than a new/used ps3 and you keep all of your saved info....

What does reball mean? Cheap? I looked on ebay and people are sell ing a whole bunch of jailbroken ps3. (no copy protection). Would those be good? Though I could be hacked if I got one.

No, jailbraked PS3's are not good, they are hacked.
