I cant take it anymore. Gt5 is like a drug

Really? Your gonna bash me because of that.

I have nothing bad to say to you man, but I had it backed up on a stick drive and even that went blank. I tried pulling my thumbdrive up on the my pc but it said connot read device. The ps3 killed everything attached to it. Not to mention other important stuff I had on it.

But my ps3 went out during my journey to bspec lvl 40. I reached 40 and then it went out 2 days later. I dont know if it was the cause though...from being on too long, though i had breaks too. Are the new endurance saves for bspec to? Or just aspec

TBH my personal opinion is that GT5 only has so much you can do before you've done it all. When it 1st came out I loved it but now almost playing it for a year I find it more & more dull but hey thats just me.

Its only dull when you dont make the most of it. Alot of people who live online with teams and all these scheduled events have a reason to want to logon and join freinds. Its all about who has a life on gt5 and who doesnt. Some people have stuff to do online with others and some dont because they dont know how to network and create task. I would say a person on a serious drag and tuning team would have daily logons where as the average newbie that races the game only for completion would not..

Its all about the life you create on gt5.

Gone n 60sec
Yesterday i took a pic of a parked gtr with my phone in dc georgtown while on the job.

I s******ed at this.
(Edit:wow, s.n.i.g.g.e.r.e.d)
But seriously, i can empathize to an extent. Was 14 hours into le mans when i paused because people were round. When i went back it had forced an update (1.5 i think?). I only lost 14hrs, not my whole game but i still felt gutted.
GT5 is the first racing game I've been really into, and like you said, i now look at cars in the street thinking i wonder how that drives in the game (i can't even drive in real life). On the plus side i do have backup saves all over the house but only because I move my saves between two systems.

Lost my GT5 save when my PS3 died as well. I'm re-playing the game and love it. If I get bored at the end, I'll just delete it on purpose this time.

Yeah man i know what you mean, I lost loyal freinds that I made on the first day gt5 came out. Met about 10 people that day which is priceless from gt5 first day drop . Lets you know your one of the guys and not some newbie. I would logon and have messeges from them asking were was i and would i be avail to race in a private room with the guys, or would i be avail to tweak a faster tranny to tryout for a drag team. Makes you feel wanted i guess...lol. You may have heard of team wolfpack drag team. Their popular, i had to beat one of the to get in and my loyal freind who was on their team set me up a few days to tryout with the team in a privet room at night but i never made it. Ps3 went out. I was getting close to beating my freind too and he said i was ready to tryout with the team. Get sick about it

If you remember your email and password, that you used to log on before, you can have all your friends back. Well, if they didn't delete you.

Game saves won't show up on the computer, as far as I remember. It could still be on the stick.

Naw i had other stuff on the stick too that was lost. Like i tryed to pull up a resume on microsoft word and it said cant read device

That blows. I know what it feels like to start from scratch (the endless amount of times I've needed to format my PC's HDD). I suppose this where the "haha, back up your save foo!" people come in .

I also restarted Gran Turismo 5 on another account (my "UK account") and seemed to have started off better: better at the license tests, races, etc.

I guess one plus to having to start over would be experience and knowing what to do.

the onlything forza is good for and beats gt at is compatition class racing only.

And sound, but thats about it. Almost all the cars in GT5 sound the same once you add a turbo / Supercharger. They literally do sound like vaccum cleaners.

GTShadowKing
Where do you think Kaz took the sound samples huh?

I believe he actually did record cars, but for some reason it didn't turn out right. I think Polyphony is going for quantity over quality. For right now it seems to be a good idea and the right style for them (Impressing people with the sheer number of cars) but recently many are becoming impatient with the bad quality of many aspects of the game. I'm thinking PD will start focusing DLC's and updates on improving the look, sound, and feel of their cars soon.

Take my word guys the new forza4 doesnt compare.

Sorry, I disagree.

I've been playing FM4 since it came out and its a good game, IMO.

Is it better than GT5?
In some ways yes, and in some ways no.
FM4 has plenty of racing events, I have to commend them on that.

Personally I think they both come up short, as the premier racers on their respective consoles.

They are both supposedly racing games and neither has qualifying or multi race Championships.
Go figure.

Both get a big fat F on innovation and imagination.
GT actually backing up to the same level-up and PP stuff thats been in the last 4 Forza games.

I have come to the conclusion both Developers have grown content with selling us the any old, same old.
Like settlers trading with the Indians, just show em anything shiny.

IMO both games are a wash in trinketry and mediocrity and short on innovative and new substance.

Good example.
How long have we been waiting for this to change?

Thats another question. What are some more innovative ideas both Forza and GT5 need to implement (Be creative). This doesn't mean more cars/ better graphics, it means gameplay changes/ innovations. Let me remind you: a game does not have to look the best to be the best.

Supercobra i get what you are saying, but i will give gt the edge because their online is better along with better tuning. Its almost like noone is online to play. Forza is good for racing only, while online is a bit stiff. With gt, when i get bored of offline racing, i know i can turn to online to keep me up and running. Yes both are good and I have no planes to get rid of my forza4 collectors edition...but gt5 satisfys me overall.

I think forza needs to improve its online by losing the constant race compo events such as soccer and cat n mouse, bolling pins, etc. people just wanna go into a room and drive around like in gt instead of constant boring compatition events in forza. Its like turn10 for some reason just couldnt be layed back with the game weras pd is more layed back with gt. I cant really speak on gt as there have been upgrades since i last played and wont be back on until another week. Though i was looking for gt to add the endurance saves

I really don't know what else can be done except add a Season/Career Mode which is based on real life racing leagues. A better Course Maker along the lines of what ModNation Racers offers. A Livery Editor and Race Mod for all cars, along the lines of what Forza offers. Perhaps a Track Day/Autocross Mode.

Outside of that, I shudder to think what "innovation" can mean. Most likely it means stupid things like Top Gear Car "Bowling" and "Soccer"... ugh!

By the way, I hate the overblown sounds in Forza 4. Even worse than the "vacuum cleaner" sounds in GT5. Which actually my Supra sounds like in real life. :sly:

Woops, forgot to chime in on the topic.

To me, Gran Turismo is more than a game too. It's like a foundation for having a relationship with cars. It has style. It has a spirit to it. It has panache and attitude, the right attitude. GT5 is even fairly authentic, much like a PC sim, but with much more flavor. I have bought games I have yet to play, because GT5 keeps drawing me back for more racing.

Recently my ps3 went dead and I lost everything on my gt5 save....lvl 30 aspec....lvl40bspec, countless cars and rears, all gear, almost all paints, mattes, chromes, all x1 colors...you name it. I was an gt5 king with alot of freinds online too. And then it happened. Bam...lost it all...i thought my gaming life was done.

I tried trying something knew, so since I had an xbox I brought forza 4 collectors edition. The cars was nice and the racing was intense. Then I fell out of love with it within a month. When I came home from work id put my kids down and hope on gt5 online and chill with freinds, racing ss7 for a night cruiz or just tuning trannys for drag racing...everyday rutine. I recently find myself not hoping on the new forza like that and havent for the past 3 days. the online community is terrible, I tryed 6 gear tranny drag tuning to drag but everybody uses like 3or 4 gears and blows u out, the feel of the cars are fake, graphics are below ave, and so on....the onlything forza is good for and beats gt at is compatition class racing only. In gt you can pick a car and blow a race away, in forza4 you pick by class and will constanly be looking over your shoulders till finesh.

I went on youtube and seen you guys having so much fun doing what I like, the drag racing had me craving, tranny tuned gears looked smooth.lol....Im going to buy another used ps3, and im going home to gt5, starting from scratch and I dont care, just to see you guys online racing will feel at home again.

Was wondering if anyone can get me up to date on what I missed out on? Last time I checked I was just collecting the new jeff gordon gear....any new cars from the updates....I heard there was a new x1 and other cars, like somthing about the remade fordgt?

Take my word guys the new forza4 doesnt compare.
Since you talk mainly of drag racing...
Show me all these 6-speed wonders crushing 4 or less speed cars in real life.

Last I checked, 6-speeds don't work for true drag racing generally, at least not after the 9-10 second mark. They always end up getting swapped out, sounds like FM4 nailed it in the head.

I'm amazed this FM4 vs GT5 isn't locked yet though.

It amazes me how most gt fans use 6 gears even for drag which makes tuning more challaging. All you do in forza is move a couple gears outta the way and you are done.

Because GT5 doesn't have anything even close to a realistic shifting design.

The closer your gears are, the quicker you shift in GT5, always. So in GT5, adding gears just removes shifting time, and gives you more time in the powerband.
In real life, shifting takes time, and cars stop benefiting from having so many shifts to make in such little time. It can happen in GT5, but the point between shifting and powerband where it happens is skewed in GT5.

Although those are facts, and while 3 or 4 gear tuning will get you smoked in gt because of slow speed buildup, 6gear tuning in gt is still more competitive and fun.

Look man im just giving my opinion....i still own both games to play.

But you're asking for a "sim" to be unrealistic because you find that more fun.
When you post on a forum of a sim, and remark other sims, and say you prefer the less realistic option, you should expect some curious inquisitions. :odd:

You're welcome to enjoy whichever you like, but to complain that FM4 is more realistic in a way, and try and show that as a negative for FM4, is beyond comprehension for me. If you don't prefer realism, I'd point you to other games then either GT5 or FM4, as both have realism aspects to them, and both are created to be console racing sims.

Why do i get the feeling your trying to put words in my mouth. Why would i complain about a game being real? Even in real life you can drag any way you want to whether its fast shifting, slo shifting, 3 gear creations or 6 th gear.

I told you that forza has the worse online community of the games and that was a turnoff. Hell you can add gt5 online to forza with forzas unattractive tuning and i may say its decent. Thats how terrible forzas online communtity is.

Forza is a good racing game

Gt5 is a good racing and online sim

GT5 is good? Yes.

GT5 online is good? Hmmmm...no.

Quite frankly, all I ever see online, is glitches and random disconnects. It's not very good at all, I get to race a few times if i'm lucky.

And no, it's not my connection, mine is perfectly fine.

As i stated in another post....its all about the life you create on gt. I had a bunch of freinds that constantly race faithfully with me and tuned with mr without the bs. If you dont have consistant freinds to run with you than you will have problems finding anything with newbs around. i never had to find anything in when racing.
